Dwayne Stukes New Special Teams Coach

Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik and coach Raheem Morris wasted little time in filling the void of special teams coach Rich Bisaccia by swiftly naming Dwayne Stukes as the new Bucs special teams coach, so reports Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune.
Stukes is no stranger to the Bucs. He has been with the Bucs organization for the past five years, and has served as Morris’ assistant secondary coach since Morris took over the reigns as Bucs head coach.
Previously, Stukes was actually Bisaccia’s assistant special teams coach.
Said Dominik of Stukes, “He’s ready for this opportunity.”
Stukes’ ties with the Bucs actually began before he worked for the Bucs. Stukes was a teammate of current Bucs cornerback Ronde Barber when the two played at the University of Virginia.

I hope this move works. Secondary to special teams? Thats tuff, hopefully he teaches how to tackle better.

He was also the asst special teams coach Navy. I’m one of the few that is not to upset with this actually. I liked Rich as a person and thought he was a decent coach but was never really blown away by the guy.

Why does this feel right?
As much as Rich has done for the organization, improved his segment of the team, etc….
It appears to me he wasn’t a fit, and somewhat of a hold-over from the last regime.

we have a pro bowl caliber kicker, three capable return men, and a roster full of young hungry players trying to make a name for themselves. im not worried.

He is a great coach, but I’m happy he’s gone now, so we don’t have to worry about him leaving the Bucs every year, like he just did. Time to move on…..

The right kind of talent is there on special teams: young players trying to prove themselves and facing alot of competition.

I may be stretching here… but I’ve heard some grumbles over the past few years about Norv Turner. Do you think that Rich thinks that if the Chargers fail to advance in the playoffs again that he can be “the next man in line” for that head coaching spot? I honestly would be thinking that way if I was rich. I really don’t think Norv is as safe in his job as alot of people believe.

That very well could be the case. I was also wondering if the Bucs thought about offering Karl Dunbar the DC job in Tampa. Both Minnesota and Tampa are without DCs right now. You gotta think that guy wants to move up.

Are you a different post or are you back to Fire?
Anyways, I’m not sure if Raheem will ever have a DC, maybe an asst DC. He seems content calling the defense and believe he has said as much.

We don’t have Devin Hester, so I’m not sure about not being worried?There’s a reason we had multiple return players do so well in punt/kick returns and I think it was Rick Bisaccia.

Stukes will get his chance to prove his worth.
He’s a young coach with a bright future, now we will see if he can take advantage of it.
It was time for Rich to move. He had been here long enough and there was no chance in the near future to move up to OC or HC, so he left for SD and a long term contract and a possible move up to OC or HC.
