Freeman Rides Out With Big Numbers

Busted thumb? No problem? Inexperienced receivers? No problem. Protection breakdowns? No problem. Backup center? No problem. Fourth quarter? No problem.
Josh Freeman takes a winning record (13-12) as a starter into the offseason.
After consecutive rough games and losses in Baltimore and at home against Atlanta, Freeman was at the low point of his 2010 season but rebounded in a huge way.
In his final five starts (the December and January schedule including that Atlanta game), Freeman had 10 touchdowns, one interception and completed 66 percent of his passes.
The kid is still 22 years old.
As talented as the Bucs offense is, Joe would love to see the Bucs give Freeman even more toys to play with.

A speedy RB would be nice, but what I’d want for 2011 is a stout RT, a punishing LG, and Mr. Davin Joseph resigned.

Joe… You say you would like to see Freeman with more toys to play with… I say just wait one or two seasons and without additions to offensive skill positions you will still have more toys. These receivers, tight ends, and backfield runners will all improve in skill and experience… Then watch out NFC South division!

@JohnWilson – That’s too long to wait. Get Freeman a ball-catching, lightning quick guy in the backfield and another stud receiver, or an upgrade at the No. 2 tight end slot.

Briscoe is a stud, thats why they paid him rookie rate for practice squad, the kid can flatout catch the ball. Pair him with Williams and a healthy Benn next season and we have 3 very good very physical receivers. Huggins will be back and healthy as well, give him a season to learn the playbook on the field, Blount will be better in the pass game, and Josh will be a season older and better, the LG position is set, Larsen was a find, he and Penn make a very nice tandem on that side, Joseph needs a little help on the right side and a new center would be nice. K2 is a pro bowler, and Caddy is Caddy. The offense skill wise is pretty set for a few years, maybe a real FB would be helpful, but who really uses them anymore.

I agree 100% leroy. I would love to see Noel Devine here. He’s also a Florida kid, Fort Myers I believe, and I’m sure they can get him around the 3rd-4th round. He would add an interesting dimension to the offense, and hopefully Caddy is still around to show him the ropes and teach him how to be a professional.
