Stylez On The Way Out?

It seems like the defensive coordinator shot a loud message at Stylez White yesterday, when Michael Bennett started at right end where White had opened every game this season.
Then on Seattle’s first possession, Bennett responded with a tackle for a loss in the backfield on 3rd-and-7.
In a TBO.com postgame notebook, an item typed by video star Anwar Richardson wonders whether this spells the end of White’s four years as a Buccaneer.
DE Stylez G. White might have seen his last day as a Bucs starter. Michael Bennett started at right end and White, coming off the bench, did not have any tackles or sacks.
As a starter, White had 4.5 sacks this season and struggled to establish a consistent pass rush. White, 31, will be an unrestricted free agent next season and Sunday’s switch gave Tampa Bay coaches a chance to see Bennett in a starting role.
Bennett, 25, is a real veratile talent that the Bucs need to harness and coach up. But White, 31, is no stiff and he’s proven extremely durable and he does make his share of plays.
Joe could easily see where both guys are on the Bucs next year in a reserve role. But it’s clear the team’s going to try and upgrade at defensive end. Hopefully on both sides of the line.

i’ve made my feelings fairly well known in regards to stylez white, needless to say i wont be shedding a tear if he leaves.

C’mon Joe! Seriously, why do we need a 32 yo non leader backup DE that just lost his starting job to a player that is not even that good. White screwed up himself this season by not wanting to lead, to practice, and to top it off by saying that he was gonna get 10 sacks and ended up being a dud. I don’t see any use for him. We need good young talent to go along with the young leaders on this team, someone that is going to be here 4 as long as the other players.
The way we have been able to find talent I prefer drafting or signing someone to help the pass rush, since Stylez G. is uncapable of producing to a decent level anylonger and is not a rolemodel to the young guys. Sorry White you have to go.

White will play his last game for tampa in new orleans, if he plays at all.

Looks to me like Bennett is the ONLY DE who might be around next year. I think him along with a rookie stud they draft will be the starters next year.
Crowder and Moore will probably be here as backups, although I have not seen Moore do a thing.

Joe, who would be the free agent DE(s) who would fit the Buccaneer’s system?
It will be interesting to see what impact player will be available when it is the Bucs turn to pick in the 1st round of the draft.

QUESTION: When the Bucs release Mr. White and he is no longer playing in the NFL will he change his name back?

Just because the guy didn’t hit the mark as a starter, that doesn’t mean he’s useless as a backup. As much as the Bucs have dropped like flies this season, Joe doesn’t discount White staying healthy and producing over his four years. Just because the guy said he doesn’t see himself as leadership material doesn’t mean he’s a waste product. No locker room works if everyone’s a leadership type.

i dont see much use in keeping a declining backup, joe. especially since our practice squad pickups are out-performing him. he just doesnt have a good motor, never has and never will.

Not a big fan of White at all. Especially after his attitude he displayed this year. He must have been out of his mind to pull that stunt in a contract year.
Oh well, let the old mediocre dude walk. Time for Domminick to pluck another player who is far more hungry.
Ever notice how these young, practice squad guys play with extreme intensity just so they can break it into the league? Even in garbage time they play with high motors, as if its pre season and every play will be watched later, and they are.
Much rather have a young hustling brute over a guy who hates practice, changed his name to a misspelled word, and is old on a young guys team, he’s not a leader he’s a bad influence, a cancer.
But I’m sure he is a nice guy on Mondays.

#99 from the 49ers is a free agent and #97 from the gaints is a free agent if the gm could get those 2 guys man that would be awsome going into next yr….

I really wish we would stop wasting time on these no names that are no good. What has Bennett done this year? Get some real stars out of free agency

What has Bennett done to deserve to stay here? He’s had 1 sack this year and 2 sacks total during his time here. Stylez White is nothing great either but he’s been productive during his time here with 24 total sacks. I think we should keep him as a backup and get a star or two out of free agency like Ray Edwards or Osi Umenyiora.

you are the no names you’re refering to patrick? guys like legarette blount or cody grimm. maybe osi umenyora since he was an undrafted free agent? just because a guy wasnt a household name before doesnt mean he isnt good. stylez was a nobody, still is.

at least keep him as a backup. I mean with all seriousness he’s our 2nd best DE at worst.
