Wishing The Redskins Were The Bucs

It seems from the gist of it, Mike Wise of the Washington Post believes Little Lord Fauntleroy (Danny Snyder) hired the wrong people in the recent past to run this team, the Redskins, that he should have hired Mark Dominik and Raheem Morris.
Wise’s column mocks that Hunter Smith, the Redskins punter who gifted the Bucs a win by fumbling a snap for a conversion that would have sent the game into overtime. Wise suggests there are plenty of goats for the Redskins including the guy calling the shots at Redskins Park.
Blame him for nobody in Ashburn recognizing that a Tampa Bay team could be the blueprint in two years, that stockpiling draft picks and finding creative ways to procure young, hungry players might be the right way to go in the NFL, that Over the Hill Gang II might not work.
It’s not too much to ask the holder how a 3-13 team a year ago, with a young quarterback like Freeman and a young coach like Raheem Morris, is now on the cusp of being a playoff team – while 4-12 in 2009 with Zorn is on its way to being 5-11 in 2010 with Mike Shanahan.
So is Wise hinting that Snyder made a mistake in hiring Bruce Almighty, Mike Shanahan, Kyle Shanahan and throwing millions upon millions of dollars at Facestomper Haynesworth who is sitting at home, warm and comfy, watching his ex-teammates slog through the rest of the season?
Interesting that one of the most storied franchise in the NFL may now be jealous of how the Bucs do business.

Pretty obvious situation really, but Mike Wise has no room to complain about how others do their job after that Big Ben suspension “report” fiasco…

Man that feels good to read!
I was one of the many who lambasted the Org for not getting Shanahan two years ago. I figured, “Hey, we need a veteran coach with a track record of success to lead us back to prominence!”
It feels good to be wrong! There’s something special about developing your OWN talent! Props to the Glazers to have the balls to tear it all down and rebuild knowing EVERYBODY would scoff at the move.

I(used)to get into debates all the time on another major Bucs fan site, because some armchairs just want to sign FAs & hire the Shanahans of the world—even when the nucleus was working out here, 2 years ahead of schedule. The only coach/GM who has won the whole thing is Belichick, & FAs are dangerous(unless your team is on the cusp of winning the Super Bowl), because they DO NOT then have the impetus to play such a violent game that hard anymore.

The truly great teams in this league build through the draft! Anyone with any knowledge of the NFL understands this. It really sucks the injury bug has hit us so hard, because we could have been a very scary team to play in the playoffs. What am I saying?! Work through the injuries boys and win 3 more!

HGO- lol! Don’t really see any of the high priced free agents having the impact our undrafted Rookies are having! Hard to beat the production we are getting from Blount, Larsen, Hardman, and Woods So Far! I think this team will be the gold standard for rebuilding a franchise. As poorly as Washington and Detroit have been at rebuilding, Tampa has clearly shown how to do the process correctly. Washington has poured money to free agents, and never improved. Detroit has drafted poor time and time again

careful not the forget that the 2008 9-7 bucs under Gruden went to 2009 3-13 under Morris. This isn’t new with coaching changes. new systems, schemes, and drafting need time. I fear too many people always look at the here and now, and never at the grand scheme of things.
