Who Is Reading Steve White’s Blog?

As one local member of the Bucs press corps texted Joe Thursday afternoon, “Steve White tells it like it is.”
The former Bucs defensive end has keen interest in the Bucs, the Bucs defensive line, and in particular Gerald McCoy. The struggling Bucs rookie defensive tackle is starting to come under criticism from some sports radio talking heads and White has kept a watching gaze as to how the Bucs are handing his development.
White devours just about anything written about the Bucs. In his latest post on his blog “Passing on the Game,” White has a hunch there are certain eyes that are monitoring his blog and he believes he has some evidence of such.
But in particular, White focuses on how GMC is being coached up and, to be succinct, White believes someone on the defensive staff is dropping the ball, in so many words.
Here’s the truth, Ive watched every game and I don’t think any team has changed their pass protection rules because of McCoy. In fact I’m about as close to being sure of it as you can get next to sitting in the offensive line meeting rooms of the opposing teams. But if you don’t know what the opposing team protection scheme is and you keep sending McCoy to the side where the center is already supposed to slide, then yeah I guess he WILL keep getting double teamed.
White’s post is explosive and not too kind on the Bucs defensive staff. Joe strongly encourages his readers to educate themselves and read White’s post in its entirety.

Well, he did send his link for his blog on twitter to Stylez G. White and he read it. Maybe he showed it to somebody else.???

Any real Bucs fan should be reading it. You aren’t going to get insight like that anywhere else, period.

They messed up by not bringing Marinelli back two years ago to coach the D line.

Marinelli hated the previous regime- 2 yrs ago. May be willing to come back now.

Who’s reading it? I would figure most anyone trying to figure out what’s wrong with the Bucs D-line. You know…. the fans, Dom, Morris…. I think the only one NOT reading it is Wash!

let’s face it the bucs are 5-3 and getting better each week. I think most of the problem is the constant movement on the line.

I had a respectable person sum up the publics opinion of the bucs these days and I think it makes sense so here it is:
If you were a Gruden hater; you desperately want the team to be good and ;improving and you are unable to acknowledge anything else b/c anything less would be an admission that Gruden would have the team in a superior position.
If you were a Gruden fan; you expect Rah to be worse and the team to struggle b/c anything more would support the anti-Gruden arguments.
The truth probably falls in the middle: the team isnt as good as the ultimate Gruden hater Capt Tim wants you to accept, but is also probably improved more and faster than Eric wants to accept.
Most of the future relates to Freeman, not Rah, or Gruden or Cowher.
Me, I think Rah brings more harm than good, but I have been wrong before = I thought Free would stink.

Pepper, I have also never heard Steve BASH the Bucs. If anything he is a pretty big fan that sheds some light on the line to the rest of us. That being said, I too hope GMC gets 4 sacks.
Thomas 2 .1…I agree with your post to a point. I for one was a huge Dungy fan and a huge Gruden fan. I still like Gruden on MNF, and I hope he lands a job in the AFC. I also like what I am seeing out of Morris this year. You are right that the future is going to hang on Freeman, as the saying goes “this is a qb driven league”…just ask Fox. I think you are wring about Morris casuing more harm than good. He has the team playinng hard for him, and the penalties are way down.

Raheem’s Defensive stats are on par with Bates stats last year. Bates was fired for his stats. And, as usual, everyone gets the blame for our poor defensive showing EXCEPT the Defensive Coordinator, Raheem. Last year everyone was lauding Raheem for being a defensive genius because he fired Bates and let the D play what they were trained to play under Kiffin. This year’s D belongs only to Raheem. So he should man-up and fire his D-Coordinator, like he did last year. Maybe the Glazers should create a coaching position called Motivational Coach & let Raheem do what he is good at. And then bring a professional to be the Head Coach.
