Warrick Dunn “Proud” Of Atlanta Win

There are few Bucs players, former or present, who Joe looks up to and respects more than former Bucs running back Warrick Dunn.
Why, the little guy with a big heart is such a good guy, Joe chose his number to represent when Joe was designing a logo for this very site (what, you actually thought Joe was choosing a logo influenced by Kardashaian-chasing Derrick Ward?).
So Joe was shocked to read last night on Twitter that Dunn, who means so much to this area not just as a football player but as a citizen, took to keyboard and bragged how pleased he was with his Dixie Chicks.

Wha, what!? Did someone hack into Dunn’s account? Was he that disturbed that his Seminoles looked so wretched against North Carolina the previous evening? This is a moral outrage!
But then Joe got to thinking: Dunn played exactly half of his NFL career with the Dixie Chicks. It finally dawned on Joe that Dunn is in fact a limited partner/minority owner with the Falcons.
So Dunn has a reason to call the Dixie Chicks “my.”
Despite this evidence, it still depresses Joe. Hard pressed to find a better guy who played for the Bucs than Dunn.
Since Dunn still helps single mothers in the area purchase houses for their families, Joe will look the other way on this insult to Bucs fans.

And if Dunn makes the Hall of Fame, he’ll go in as a Falcon or Falcon/Buc, not as a Buc.

I don’t think that is a decision he will ever have to make. No way Dunn is in the Hall of Fame.
I don’t have a problem with this. Hell if he is a Falcons owner then he’d be crazy not to root for them.
Now if I see John Lynch with a tweeting about the Broncos over the Bucs then i’m going to be pissed.

If Blount doesn’t bounce outside he’s not so proud…but Blount didn’t, so that’s that. I said before ATL is good not great, they are like us, beatable. We gained respect and are far ahead of where most people thought we would be.

Don’t blame owner Dunn for being proud of his team. They fought hard and played very well to barely squeak by a Damn good Tampa Bay Bucs team! Hellva goal line stand. Dunn owns the falcons, no bad blood there. I’ll always have love for the Lil fella

sure you can blame for that, but tell me something, at the last 5 victories of the dixie chicks, he never tweeted (or at least i never saw it) about a win of the falcons, how can you be cool on that?? sorry mr dunn, i respect you, ur a classy gut and all that, but, ur not a fan favorite anymore!!!

Dunn definitely had his best years as a feature back in Atlanta. No shock at all for me. (Always thought the guy was way overrated, anyway.)

Joe, how is that an insult to Bucs fans? Dunn is part owner of the Falcons.
besides, the way he, and others, were let go I wouldn’t blame any of them for openly cheering against’ the Bucs. I wouldn’t be surprised to see many of the old guard request to go onto the HOF as members of another team after the way they were summarily “dismissed”.

Sorry, just basing that HOF thing on what’s been said from people with votes. They’ve been saying that Dunn is more likely to make it than Alstott and they’d vote for Dunn before they’d vote for Alstott. So, it’s simply a statement based on what they’re saying, not that he will or won’t make it.

Dunn’s numbers are really good, though he has an uphill climb. Most voters just look at career numbers which is why Dunn might get in before Alstott, if Dunn gets in at all.
Joe’s guessing if Dunn does get in, it would have to be by a veteran’s committee after about 20 years. Sort of like what happened with Floyd Little.
