  1. BucDawg Says:

The argument for Bowles getting an extension is a direct parallel to the last year of Winston at QB.

Joe insanely stated he would welcome a extension for Winston and thought he had earned it.
??? Let’s not change history. Joe, at the time, said a team-friendly extension for Winston was viable and reasonable, not a franchise QB extension. Bucs officials were up for that, too, if they couldn’t land their big fish, Brady. –Joe

Imagine if you will what the state of the franchise would be if that had taken place.

Bowles at HC and Winston at QB together, ouch baby very ouch. Catastrophic is what that would have been.

The Glazers did not lock Bowles down as the HC out of fear another team would snatch him away.

Quite the opposite. BA ransomed him to the Glazers and forced their hand.

He earned nothing to gain his position.

    F Sean Payton.

I’m quite certain that I have never seen a sports columnist push so hard for a head coach that has such a poor record of winning.

  4. Kenton Smith Says:

Durango 95, I’m seeing a sports columnist push hard to explain that the Glazer family seems to love Todd Bowles and the environment he’s got rolling down at OBP. I think our Joes and Ira would be doing a major disservice to us not reporting that the owners love the unity displayed by this team led by Todd Bowles. It’s not cool that he hasn’t already signed a contract extension. Should be the first order of business. And me and the hound sure enjoyed the podcast!

  5. Bushlover Says:

Sounds like semantics, and revisionist history conveniently now, up there at the beginning. I’ll roll with BucDawg on his recollection there. Hmm.

Love the podcast, especially the elevator story! Funny stuff. Can’t wait to read and hear more nuggets in the weeks to come.

Wishing the best for Devin. Maybe he found a good fit with the Raiders.

Wouldn’t mind a new stadium for the Bucs. And with a retractable roof.

Absolutely respect Bowles. Compared to many other coaches, he has done a good job and the team really likes him too. He has the locker room. His contract is up in 2027, the same time Raymond James naming rights will be in question. A lot happening at the same time. Hoping for a SB win before. Go Bucs.
