Tristan Wirfs Knows How To Make Women Feel Old

March 16th, 2025

Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson react to being indirectly referred to as old.

Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs may have a future in comedy if he plans to work after his football days are done.

Last week Wirfs sat down for a “live” podcast at a Bucs event at The Licht House called “She is Football,” a two-day celebration of women and football.

FOX Sports personalities/sideline reporters Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson were part of the festivities and recorded their podcast “Calm Down.” Wirfs was a special guest and at one point was referred to by Andrews as “cutie pie.”

(Strangely, Thompson referenced a bachelor party she attended the previous evening. Not bachelorette. “Bachelor.”)

There, Wirfs decided to tread upon a subject women over 40 detest: calendars. Andrews and Thompson are in that group.

So the subject of being a rookie drafted to keep Tom Brady on his two feet came up. Wirfs explained the pressure that was on him.

“[The Bucs are] like, ‘Don’t let anyone touch him,'” Wirfs said. “I said, ‘OK, I’ll try my best. He’s fragile, he’s old.'”

This sparked gasps and laughs from the crowd of (mostly?) women. The nerve of Wirfs to refer to then-43-year-old Brady as “old!”

Wirfs immediately realized the audience and then held out his palm and said, “Not that old, not that old. Not that old, ladies. Not that old.”

The remark got a reaction from Andrews, who cautioned Wirfs, “Tristan! He’s a year older than me. Calm down!”

To which Wirfs responded, “He’s like two years younger than my mom.”

Rim shot!

Careful there, Tristan. Comedy like that may get you in hot water in the future. Don’t want to alienate half your potential market — if you don’t sit back and enjoy the good life after you retire from football.

Also interesting, since this was recorded a week ago, Wirfs announced that his good friend and now former Bucs backup center Robert Hainsey was “going somewhere” in free agency.

Joe wonders if this was all worked out during the illegal tampering period at the combine?

Tristan living the great life. Hotties and comedy. You know they loved it.

Loving Wirf’s! Yes, to the “Rim shot.” Brady being 2 years younger than his mom pretty much does give you the feeling of why Tristan felt that way. No shame there. These guys are young and many of their parents may be in their 40s. Loving the comedy.

The day “woke” takes an Elvis building exit will be one to celebrate. To a 20-year old, 43 “is” old.

    To a 10-yo, 20 is ancient.

Folks shouldn’t get their panties in a wad over this.

    Oh…shoot…can I even say that?

    Am I now in trouble?

Should I fear for my future now?

    Oh gosh.

  4. Hodad Says:

I’m so old, if I was lucky enough to date a woman like Andrews in her 40s, I’d be robbing the cradle!

  5. adam from ny Says:

women over 26-27 years old are starting to get old…wake up…

these women obviously take very good care of themselves and haven’t let themselves go…

but get real, mid 40’s is teetering on menopause…

and let’s make no mistake here…i’m an old f@rt already…but red pill fact are red pill facts

  6. Todd Says:

Yell with me Hidad and Adam, “Get off my lawn!!!” 😂

“Bucs All World” left tackle Mr. Wirfs. I recall the evening he was drafted. The Bucs traded up…one spot for him. I was like WTH? He would have been there at 14 anyway. I can say I was happy to be wrong. One of the best draft picks by our beloved Bucs of all time!

  9. Vanessa Anne Says:

I got a good laugh out of this! 🙂

  10. Lt. Dan Says:

@Todd – I some how feel smaller, dumber and more shallow after having read your comments.

  11. Ha-Ha-Ha Says:

He’d have been there at 14.
Maybe not, They were willing to trade to the Bucs, they might have been willing to trade to somebody else.

  12. Bushlover Says:

Classic, 2 years younger than my mom.

EA over Thompson all day long, yum. And proud Tampa product.

She should be bought out by Netflix to be the face of their NFL coverage when they start a full slate soon, she’s experienced enough and outgrown the sideline deal.

Funny but it also demonstrates today’s hyper sensitivity in the post me too period. I call it the death of comedy. You can,t get away with stuff like you could in the 70’s. There are also double standards these days. You said above… “Wirfs was a special guest and at one point was referred to by Andrews as “cutie pie.” Nothing will happen to Andrews. But ifa male sportscaster said that to a WNBA player he would be fired. This unfairness bothers me. When checkout ladies say “That will be $5.99 Honey,” i say something non derisive to point out it is inappropriate to call a strange man not your husband or boyfriend honey. Even if it was a come on i am not interested in checkout ladies and this is not a singles mixer.

My friend brought his sister to a bachelor party years ago. She was wilder than any of the dudes. She spent more cash, got more lap dances, and made out with more women at the club than any of us.

  15. Todd Says:

    Lt. Dan —

I’m sorry I violated your sensitivities. Do you escape your safe space often?

  16. ReeeBarrr Says:

I believe the context was age in football
    Funny but cmon

  17. Aqualung Says:

The fact that the relative political correctness of the dialogue is being scrutinized is a sad commentary.

Just enjoy it, chuckle and move on. Jeebus O’crust.

  18. BucDawg Says:

Women react this way because their value and power is in their youth and vitality.

Conversely, men age better, grow wiser, and generally gain more assets as we age. That is our power and vitality.

Basically women have the power until mid 30s to 40 with some exceptions.

These ladies have kept it together and are still very attractive to a wide swath of men.

Tristen just got caught telling them the truth.

  19. ReeeBarrr Says:

Tristan had nothing to apologize for. They missed context. He rolled over to play nice and I credit him for his love and refrain

  20. Anyhony Says:

You people blaming woke culture here are soooooo sad. It’s NEVER been a good idea (at any point in history) to suggest that a woman is old! Then again these are men who could never understand or relate to woman and are bitter because of the constant rejection.

  21. Mac Says:

Did anyone watch Wirfs last night at the Banana Baseball game in Ray Jay last night. 65k people. He ripped off his shirt pre game and did a weigh in then proceeded to carry the other dude off the field. I love this kid. He speaks intelligently and is a team first guy. A pillar to build your team around!

  22. Jmarkbuc Says:

Todd is living proof that a schmuck is a schmuck.. whether they are enlightened or not.

Just waiting on him to proclaim Alpha status next, like all faux alpha’s are wont to do.
