Quality Pass Rusher Just Hit The Market

February 26th, 2025

Titans edge rusher Harold Landry.

Big news already this morning from the beehive of the combine, the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.

You know the Bucs need an edge rush; Joe knows it. Shoot, Bucs brass yesterday shrugged their shoulders and confessed they needed more production from the edge.

Help may be available.

The Titans announced they have given permission for their edge rusher, Harold Landry, 28, to seek a trade.

Hallelujah!

Joe was totally geeked about this as Joe’s morning coffee is not hitting. Joe always liked this Landry when he came out of Boston College. Joe remembers some Bucs fans on this here website mocked Joe for his Landry love.

The last three years Landry has racked up 31.5 sacks playing for a lousy team, though he does have Jeffery Simmons playing inside of him. Potentially in Tampa, Landry could be playing with Calijah Kancey and Vita Vea inside and YaYa Diaby on the opposite side.

What impressed Joe about Landry, and did since he was in college, is he didn’t and hasn’t played on good teams. Offenses can key on him more. If he ever played on a good team, like the Bucs, where offenses couldn’t always double-team him, imagine how he could blow up.

Joe would take Landry over Myles Garrett, as crazy as that sounds, because he wouldn’t be nearly as expensive. Landry is set to earn $17.5 million this season and is signed through 2026.

What a way to start a gloomy, chilly Wednesday morning in Indianapolis. Joe is stoked! Let’s kick ass today!

Could he be had for a third?

  2. BPBucsfan Says:

Sounds good, but don’t get to excited, Matthew Judon is available for way less in the “bargain bin”.

  3. Fred Says:

I’m right there with you, Joe!!

  4. It's Corn Says:

    DEWIT

  5. Lord Cornelius Says:

Seems too perfect a fit let’s do it

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Is he healthy?

I’m not opposed to it, but why are they letting him go?

  7. Fan of the South Says:

Titan were second in yards allowed in 2024. Second in passing defense and way down the list against the rush.

Don’t think a few extra sacks are worth it if your run defense gets worse.

Titans would probably be happy to cover half of his salary if they can get some decent draft picks out of the deal. Make an offer. Worse case he is a good fill in if Diaby get a hang nail.

Tennessee gave up Henry and only lost a little over 10 yards a game but went from 16th to 14th in the league. Losing Landry will not have much of downside for them and 8 million will help if they decide to make a play for a QB.

Go get him this is the perfect opportunity for Jason they want to trade him cause of cap he can be had for 3rd may even a 4th they just want to get off his salary make it happen Jason

  9. Joseph C Simmons Says:

Be wary of any player that a team is not trying to keep.

  10. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Get Him!!!

  11. bucnjim Says:

Screams buyer beware! Why the He!! would they let him go? They have 51 Million in cap space.

  12. Cobraboy Says:

Whenever a team says, “sure, look for a trade” it means The player thinks he’s worth more that the market says, and the team will only accept overpayment to do the deal.

  13. Buc Fan in Phoenix Says:

Something seems fishy about this situation. Perhaps he has possible pending legal action, health issues, locker room cancer? Buyer beware!

  14. Saskbucs Says:

Perhaps Landry is tired of playing for bad teams, knows the Titans don’t have a QB and plan to draft Carter? Tennessee with no QB might want an extra 10 million to get a QB… lots of reasons this isn’t that fishy.

He seems like a decent option to me but at that price if he is sub par at run D, I doubt Bowles wants him.

  15. John Says:

titans in full rebuild. thats why theyre offering him up. they know they are years away from anything significant. prob a 3rd or 2 4ths.

  16. BuckyBuc Says:

seeing titan fans say they would be surprised if they got a 5th for him.

  17. BuckyBuc Says:

telling yall, with his contract he can be had for a 6th

  18. SlyPirate Says:

3rd or 4th would be nuts.
They should let Licht draft the pick too.
He’d get you Tykee or Bucky.

  19. Obvious Says:

The titans weren’t exactly a poor team ‘18-‘21. They made the playoffs 3 or 4 times during that span. Once they made the NFC championship game and were stomped by Mahomes.

I think the next year they beat us in a close game.

Either way he’s a good player. Would def be for acquiring him.

  20. heyjude Says:

    Sounds good!

  21. Derek Says:

LOL. You’re acting like the Bucs already traded for him. Not every available DE is coming to the Bucs Joe

  22. Oxycondomns Says:

what happened to trading away number 1 picks and hundreds a millions for garrett.

  23. Krewe Since Birth Says:

Let us not forget an age-old maxim for this part of the NFL season… if a player is on the market, it means his last team probably didn’t want him.

  24. Lol Says:

This is someone who Licht would actually trade for. Good looking out Joe

  25. Ben Says:

Sign me up! If Hendrickson costs too much, go get this guy!

  26. Aqualung Says:

If he can cover the burger flippers in the stadium, he’s a slam dunk.

  27. Allbuccedup Says:

Love to have Landry but I am sure the head coach that drafted him is the Pats leader there and will trade for him as soon as the new NFL year starts.

  28. ModHairKen Says:

Harold, no income taxes. Golf year round. Girls in bikinis in Publix. West coast beach sunsets. East coast beach sunrises. Disney. Busch Gardens. Bern’s.

And fan adulation like nowhere else. River parades after you win the SB.

  29. Usfbucs Says:

    6th round pick then maybe

  30. TBChucky Says:

It’d be hard to not consider him an upgrade. Which is a good thing..

  31. Aqualung Says:

Personnel doesn’t matter as long as The Configuration is maintained.
