Long Offseason Ahead For Baker Mayfield

January 12th, 2025

Baker Mayfield made plays tonight but he’ll be thinking for the next 7 1/2 months about his botched fourth-quarter handoff to Jalen McMillan at the Bucs’ 15 yard line.

Fair or not, that lost fumble was the difference in the Bucs’ three-point loss.

What a stain that puts on Mayfield’s extraordinary 2024 season.

Joe actually thought the Bucs shouldn’t have gotten so cute in their own territory and just kept pounding the rock to Bucky Irving with a 17-13 lead on first down. But yeah, Joe’s nitpicking. The Bucs have run that jet-sweep play before and there was nothing wrong with the call.

So how will Mayfield handle this kind of adversity? How will it drive him?

Long offseason ahead for the Bucs’ franchise quarterback.

  1. Rod Munch Says:

Two playoff games in a row where Baker choked when it mattered most. He’s a bum.

  2. Richard Dickson Says:

Looked like on the reply McMillan started his motion early, he was past Baker when Baker turned to make the hand-off.

  3. Let ‘em bake Says:

It was the 3rd and 1 in the red zone, not the botched fumble…

  4. Rod Munch Says:

The defense makes a huge goal line stand, and that choke artist Baker comes out and turns it over right away. This loss is 100% on him.

  5. Pistol Pete Says:

    Got cute, paid price.

  6. Curse of Gruden Says:

    Should have played Trask.

  7. Rover Says:

Losing alone is frustrating, losing in that fashion is challenging to a real fan’s well being. This cannot keep happening with this defense. bring in fresh coaches, maybe a D coordinator!!!

  8. Kenny Says:

At that point, Baker had missed only 2 or 3 passes the entire game. Why are we running trick plays?

Also on 2nd and inches from like the 13… Why aren’t we throwing into the end zone?

  9. Oxycondomns Says:

fitting game bucs lose a close game and washington wins a close game. dont forget barton ending a good looking potential td drive.

  10. Mtbucsfan Says:

Well he will spend it learning a new offense because Coen is going to go HC somewhere and we are left with Toilet Bowles as HC.

  11. Rod Munch Says:

This is why no one bidded up Baker last offseason, why he got a middling contract extension. He’s a choke artist, collapses in the biggest situations.

  12. Bernie Says:

This game is on Todd Bowles. Questionable clock management at the end of the second half. He got outclassed a list time of possession. Putting one play on Baker when Todd mismanages game after game is a joke. Baker is the spark that overcomes a nothing coach on his third failed attempt at a team. He is a defensive coordinator, and nothing more.

  13. Trask To The Future Says:

    START THE KYLE TRASK ERA

  14. Chris Says:

Man whatever that wasn’t the problem the D sucks and has. Washington don’t respect our d they went for it every time on 4th down and if they’d kicked them field goals the score would’ve been 29-20

  15. Tom S. Says:

Atrocious play calling by Cohen in the second half. You would’ve thought that Tyler Huntley was the Bucs QB the way they were playing so close to the best. Baker finished with 18 pass attempts and 7 rushes.

I have no idea what the OC was thinking other than how to get to his job interviews the quickest but I wouldn’t love the film he put out there for a prospective owner. You had a guy who threw for 41 TDs, was playing at home and you handcuffed him, while making him try cute plays. Hope Jacksonville treats you well Liam!

  16. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Yall need to give the commanders props. …they were the better team tonight.

JD is an amazing player for a Rookie

    The Bucs secondary is trash

The Bucs LBs are trash except LVD

Bowles & Coen were simply outcoached

  17. Tye Says:

Commanders had long drives, time of possession and less penalties… Defense was no where near playoff worthy… If Commanders went for all their field goals it would not have been close….

This is the best Bowels coached team can do…Will NEVER EVER get to a NFC title game!

Many rooting for the Bucs to stay average for years just keep one of the worst coaches in the league!

  18. RVATom Says:

I am not going.to destroy them for trying the sweep…but hopefully lessons were learned. I mean…jayzus.

  19. SlyPirate Says:

The fumble lost the playoff game, but Mayfield’s play got us to the playoff game.

  20. Ds Says:

One of the most heart breaking games in buc history

  21. JCBucs Says:

Bowles defense forced no turnovers and no punts and Baker cost them the game? What a terrible take.

  22. Tbbucs3 Says:

Bad playcalling by Coen all night

  23. Chris from Gainesville Says:

Hopefully the offense looking mediocre tonight helps us keep coem. Idk if it was play calling but they never got into rhythm in the first half. Then again the my only had three opportunities. Funny how michullum’s dropped pass stopped what would have been back to back scoring drives potentially. That little momentum went to the skins who I don’t think punted once. Jalen out on a clinic vs a Bowles defense. Just find the quick out me the it. All. Night.

  24. HC Grover Says:

Backed in to the division again and one and done. Prolly an instant replay next year.

  25. ModHairKen Says:

Joe, you’re wrong. The game was tied after that and the Defense gave up the lead.

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Wash….zero punts

  27. Rod Munch Says:

The defense gave up 16 points, made a huge 4th quarter goal line stand.

This loss is 100% on Bum Baker choking when it mattered most.

  28. sue moore Says:

Defense looked subpar last week. Our first half play isn’t good.

I like TB, but why doesn’t he hire a defensive coordinator??

  29. Lightningvinny Says:

The fumble didn’t help but it didn’t lose the game ,,,, Quinn going for it on nearly every forth down won the game ,,, Got to give that guy credit ,, Balls big as church bells

  30. Pelsbuc61 Says:

That was not on Baker. The timing sucked and the play call was questionable.

  31. Oxycondomns Says:

last 2 playoff games lions and washington took advantage of deans second haf injury

  32. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Did you dumb Bucs fans forget that the Bucs barely made the playoffs????

Hell, it was the commanders that got the Bucs into the playoffs by beating the Falcons that the Bucs couldn’t beat all year long!

I swear, you Bucs fans are idiots

  33. C-spann4 Says:

It was a bad call for being in the red zone

  34. Frank Pillow Says:

Very questionable play calling there by Liam. Terrible execution by Baker, yeah, but that play was going to lose yards, regardless. Just a really strange spot to run that. Kinda like the Baker boot.

  35. August 1976 Buc Says:

Same story as the Saint game. Bucs offense was not running smoothly and the Defense just cannot get off the field. How many gmes this did we watch tjis Defense simply play soft and end up letting a team march down the field and win the gaame??

  36. Bucsfan1988 Says:

One bad play didn’t lose the game for us…
Just bad timing on the motion handoff….
U sure whose fault it really is…….

That didn’t lose is the game..

    Know what did???

    JOSH FREAKEN HAYES DID!!!!!

Because we have no corner depth Because every game we play, we lose at least one to two guys in the secondary constantly.

Still waiting for someone to explain this phenomenon to me? No other team constantly loses secondary players like this???

  37. Cybetsecurity_intern Says:

Fire Bowles, why the F did they stop throwing the ball? They couldn’t stop us.l but sure take out the ball from the hands of Tom Brady. What a F bum.

  38. Steve Says:

    Are we having fun now?

  39. Rod Munch Says:

Baker is a loser and a choke artist – two postseason in a row where he collapses under pressure when it matters most.

You will never win anything with this bum.

  40. TampaBayker Says:

Liam: you can’t get cute when we’re backed up in our end zone and try to sweep cutesy play. Just let Baker throw and let Bucky run ….

Then with second and inches: How about using Sean Tucker? Or a real solid Tush push.

Also, you should’ve gone for it on fourth down instead of going for the field goal.
Baker was hitting open receivers. RPO Or play action or anything… we can’t tie them up And then just give them the ball with four minutes left….. That handed them the game because we’re gonna get back on the field.

Calijah K: You had him wrapped up, but don’t be Vertical if you just stuck your head and die, you would’ve had the sack. Daniels stiff armed u easily

  41. Josh Says:

Baker is what he is and that’s why he’s paid 30 million he’s not going to win you every game and he needs talent around him there’s only a few elite qbs Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, etc.. most qbs are right on par with Baker he’s a better than average not great qb…

  42. ElioT Says:

Love Baker, love Liam, but this loss was on them.

    Defense is still garbage but…

    Den of Depression.

  43. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    STOP BLAMING BAKER!

……There are 52 other players on the roster that could’ve played better to…..like the Secondary and the LBs.

One bad play didn’t lose the game for us…

    ———–

    Yeah, it did.

Baker did, he’s a bum, a choke artist, a loser.

That’s why no one bidded him up last offseason. No one wanted him because they know in big situations, he’s a loser.

  45. Miller5252 Says:

Got out coached and played tonight. Never going anywhere with Bowles coaching. D coach here for 5 years and that’s the best we got??? Baker is going to have a long off season, but at least you know you’ve got your QB for years to come

  46. RagingBrisket Says:

Baker is not the problem. Washington never punted. Defense was disrespected by Quinn and it worked. Offense moved the ball when they had it sans one penalty ridden drive and the botched fumble. Offense hardly got an opportunity. Hates they didn’t punch it in on the last drive when they tied it up. That was critical

  47. Old Sombrero Says:

Not on baker solely. The offense struggled all night. To me the biggest let down was the defense and untimely penalties. Wash came in committed to stoping the run and they did a good job. Our defense didn’t seem to have a plan; blitzed early then went to zone. It’s as if they don’t have the personnel to play a complete game plan.

  48. Nicholas Carlson Says:

Baker is excellent of course. We need talent on defense to get him the ball back

  49. NotBakersFault Says:

Baker had a very good season. Dumb play call. Our defensive secondary couldn’t stop a rookie or get turnovers. Bowles’ ceiling is getting in the playoffs and only if the NFC South continues to stink. Wake up Glazers…wake up, Joe!

  50. unbelievable Says:

Not just that, the best drive too. They completely screwed up 3rd and inches. Completely.

Offense chit the bed tonight. Not the defense.

    STOP BLAMING BAKER!

    ———–

He single handedly lost the game.

There is one person to blame, and that is Baker.

He’s a loser, and just like in Detroit last year with the playoff game on the line, he choked.

  52. BUC_MY_LIFE Says:

Liam Coen will be a great head coach for this team next year, and he will learn from this game. The play call to McMillan up 4 inside your own 20 in the 4th quarter of a playoff game was a stone cold blunder. Completely unnecessary and we paid the price. That being said, in the biggest moment of the game, our “defensive guru” of a head coach couldn’t get off the field or keep a rookie QB from running a perfect game winning fg drive. Just an absolutely pathetic effort by him, one we have seen over and over and over again. When will enough be enough?

I’m sure even Buc fan knew as soon as we settled for a FG with and gave the ball back with 4 minutes to go, the game was over. I sure did. Bowles is not, and never will be, a super caliber head coach, and that really requires nothing to be added to it in order for there to be sufficient reasons for firing him. I don’t even need to mention Liam coens name.

  53. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Rod Munch

Baker had shut you up and make you look for a absolute FOOL for 2 years and now your calling him a bum after a *40* TD season….

    Shut the basement computer off

  54. ModHairKen Says:

Well then go follow another team, Munch. The Defense gave up a tied game. Not Baker.

    The Defense.

    The Defense.

All they had to do was stop the Redskins.

The Defense gave up a tied game.

  55. MegaFailure Says:

tell him to find another team, he aint it

  56. Couch Fan Says:

Let’s get rid of Bowles and Baker. That’ll make everybody happy.

  57. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I swear, you Bucs fans are idiots

  58. Rod Munch Says:

Tbbucs3 – Baker sucked last season. Played well this season vs bad defenses. Collapsed in the playoffs when it mattered most.

The fact you’re defending him 2 years in a row as he chokes in the playoffs, is why you’re a pitiful Baker Boi loser.

  59. BucfaninMi Says:

They don’t sniff the playoffs without Baker.

  60. BUC CHEEKS Says:

    Go to sleep Rodney

  61. BallHawk75 Says:

I can hear the laughter from Cleveland.

They cut that bum loose years ago. Not that it helped because they are putrid.

But they know what Faker really is. A loser when it matters most.

Goes great with a HC that chokes away every season he’s been the leader of an NFL team.

Fire up that confidence poll now dawg!!!!

  62. ElioT Says:

I don’t think Rod likes Baker very much. 😅

  63. TheBucsAnthem Says:

  64. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Rod Munch, you & I normally agree on things…..

You’re wrong on blaming Baker for this game’s loss…….

There were so many different screwups that happened and massive momentum changers.

Every player should be looking in the mirror on this loss taking some blame…
JOSH HAYES can take more blame than everybody else though BECAUSE HE SUCKS!!! He KILLED us after Dean was injured…..

  65. SteveK Says:

Baker’s fumble was the worst play I can remember. Awful. Right after Bowles defense made a turnover on downs from the 1 yd line. That’s a helluva stop only to be pooped on by Bakers fumble. It’s an honest error, and it’s the biggest glaring reason of why we lost tonight.

  66. BucfaninMi Says:

I suppose they win with Trask? laughable.

  67. It's Corn Says:

Bucs don’t force enough turnovers on defense.

  68. unbelievable Says:

  69. Chris Says:

Not one team in the NFL respected Todd Bowles Defense

  70. BUC CHEEKS Says:

    Wrong again Anthem

  71. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    But I agree

    FIRE TODD BOWLES

  72. BucfaninMi Says:

    11:46 left after the fumble.

  73. SteveK Says:

Baker’s fumble took all the air out of the ballon.

How many fumbles did the rookie QB have?

  74. Hodad Says:

With 4:41 left in the game would it be to much to ask Todd’s D to get a stop? Instead of the tying FG, could Bowles go for it on 4th down? The Commanders went for it all night. We did the same thing in the 49er game. Settled for a FG only to watch the 49ers march down the field for the win. We lost all our primetime games. We lost at home in the playoffs to a rookie QB, who made play, after play on this crap defense. Did Winfield play? Billion dollar safety, not one pick this season. I picked the Skins to win, this game has been like so many of our losses this year. Defense can’t get a stop when it matters, can’t get a turnover at any point in the game. Todd comes back, nothing will change.

  75. ElioT Says:

Overall, this team is not good enough.

They’ve been lucky to be in the worst division in the NFL for the past four years.

    Cheers to 8-9 in 2025!!!

  76. unbelievable Says:

Baker, Barton both had critical screw ups

  77. Tbbucs3 Says:

Rod Munch, the new leader of the Kyle Trask fan girl club

  78. BucfaninMi Says:

    @Chris right.

  79. `dmurph Says:

This loss has nothing to do with defense
We have good infrastructure and just need to grow on that
    With Bowles and Coen

  80. Couch Fan Says:

Wait you put more blame on the back up CB rather than the starting QB? … LMAO

  81. Jackson Says:

This is an idiot topic. Baker didn’t lose the game because of the fumble. Didn’t he lead them back down for a game tying FG? Washington got the ball back with 4:19 to play and Baker never touched the field again. Get real the defense couldn’t get off the field.

  82. BucsfanBrennan Says:

4,500 yards and 41 Touchdowns. We wouldn’t freaking be here without Baker, but yeah, let’s cut this bum who won us 10 games with the worst defense in the league, and a center who doesn’t know the playbook. Y’all people have some great Ideas

  83. TheBucsAnthem Says:

And where the hell is Antoine Winfield….. he’s not the same player anymore

    STOP BLAMING BAKER!

……There are 52 other players on the roster that could’ve played better to…..like the Secondary and the LBs.

Did you dumb Bucs fans forget that the Bucs barely made the playoffs????

Hell, it was the commanders that got the Bucs into the playoffs by beating the Falcons that the Bucs couldn’t beat all year long!

I swear, you Bucs fans are idiots

  84. Munz Says:

The Mayfield fumble and the Barton mistake on 3rd and 1 were huge obviously. Play of the game on defense was Jamel Dean getting hurt. Forced Bowels to resort to the soft zone. Not enough talent in the secondary to play the way he really wants with Hayes. No chance Mclaurin is that open on 4th and 2 if Dean is in the game.

  85. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

No question how much that fumble hurt, but Baker’s play, his scrambles and passes are what had us still in the game in the first place. Sure, you can point to one play and say “that was it,” but that’s just not how it goes. A lot of single plays and lots of individual players contribute to wins (or losses). And as others have said before, the other team gets paid, too. This was the closest playoff matchup of the weekend and it didn’t go our way. I know I haven’t been around as long as some old timers here, so I’ve only known a winning, playoff team, but there are a lot of other fan bases who would love to have our problems. I think Baker and the Bucs have a bright future ahead. Either way, I’ll be cheering for ’em. Let’s go, Bucs!

  86. Saskbucs Says:

Great question Kenny. I wanna know who was making the calls at the end. 2nd and 1 from 13… we gotta pass that thing. It was Falcons game all over again. Run run run. Bowles prolly said we got away with that pass last week to Mike, can’t risk an INT again… just run it.

  87. Bucsfan1988 Says:

BucsAnthem, INJURIES IN THE SECONDARY is why Bicw barely made the playoffs….

Go back & review who was out & for how long…

How can you expect Bowles to play aggressive D with a 4th & 5th corner in the game……You can’t do crap!!!!!

I’m proud we made playoffs based on the injuries…..
This is the worst amount of injuries I’ve seen in the last 10 or 15 years for this team in a given season…

  88. SteveK Says:

Fumble was awful bc we made a stop from the 1 yard line and the gave them possession in the red zone. It’s shameful and can’t happen. If you refuse to recognize its impact on the game, the momentum of the game, and ultimately the gimme TD WAS got, yes it is Baker’s fault tonight unfortunately

  89. BucfaninMi Says:

I like Todd, but all we’ll ever get 9 wins at best

  90. R Ritter Says:

Not one mention of the defense on this thread. All of you clowns wanting to put it on baker are stupid! Defense got one stop all night, 1. Shouldn’t have had that one because David got away with a PI in the end zone. Loss is not on baker it’s on the entire team!

  91. Josh Says:

Bucs won’t get another penny from me with Bowles as head coach that’s all I’m saying…

Baker had a great game overall like 146 passer rating. Bucs were outclassed watch the tape Washington ran almost 2x the amount of plays that’s on the coaching staff….

  92. Oxycondomns Says:

people assume that was bakers fault, mcmillan is always doing dumb things

  93. PhoenixBucsFan Says:

Baker isn’t the problem. Not having a guy standing in the middle of the field to defend Washington passes is the problem.

  94. Rod Munch Says:

    Bucsfan1988 Says:

Rod Munch, you & I normally agree on things…..

You’re wrong on blaming Baker for this game’s loss…….

    ———-

The game came down to one play, like most games do.

Baker screwed up, he fumbled the hand-off, and the game was over. The defense wasn’t going to make 8-plays in a row from the goal line. The defense gave up 16-points – Baker gave up 7, and the game was over.

Baker did this last year in the playoffs too, with the game on the line, he throws an INT with less than 2 minutes left vs the Lions.

How many huge late game mistakes does he get before people see a pattern?

The defense did it’s job. There is no possible way any reasonable person could think they’d have performed better vs an elite offense.

This loss is 100% on Baker.

Maybe in 6-months I’ll have cooled down, but right now, this is 100% on Baker.

  95. SteveK Says:

Who had more turnovers, Baker or Jaden Daniels!? The fumble by baker cost us the season guys. Stop trying to play mental gymnastics. That burned our asses.

  96. Gipper Says:

Munch had to endure Baker being a top 3 QB all season so he could finally unload on him. Not at all clear what happened on the handoff. Looked like the rookie got ahead of the handoff. In any case there was a lot more to that game than one turnover. Let’s start with Washington final drive. Do we ever force an opponent to punt out of their own territory?

  97. Couch Fan Says:

Just for the record, if we are placing blame on 1 person, logically it would have to be the one guy who is responsible for how the whole team plays. The one who is constantly out coached. The ReTodd himself.

  98. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Be honest

The commanders were the better team tonight

They did what they had to do

And JD is the real deal and an amazing rookie QB

  99. BucfanDMV Says:

Unfortunately last year ended with a Mayfield pick and he’s in the middle or another game changing turnover just really unfortunate. Both of them happened in clutch moments tells you all you need to know Unfortunately.

  100. Chief Says:

Baker played great. Only 3 incompletions on the night. Rodman Munch you apparently do not know anything about football.
This loss is solely on the shoulders of Todd Bowles. The decision to sit back and not pressure a rookie QB and let them have long sustained drives is what beat us. We had limited possessions due to that.
Then not going for it on 4th down on our last drive was ridiculous. We hadn’t stopped them all nite from getting in the red zone, but you think we would at the end of the game??? Stupid!

We wasted a brilliant season by a QB that is top 6 in the league and on the cheap.
    We CANNOT LOSE LIAM.

I hate calling to fire a coach, but this game made me realize Bowles is the issue.

  101. Jackson Says:

This Baker has 7-1/2 months to think about that play is ridiculous. How many defensive players didn’t make plays? Will they be thinking about it for 7-1/2 months? Or just Baker?

  102. Josh Says:

68 plays to 43 plays pretty much tells the story

  103. UKBuccaneer Says:

Putting a loss on any one player just shows how little you know about ‘ball.

  104. SteveK Says:

    Munch,

Preach, brother. It’s not hating. It’s facts. And the fact is Baker had game-losing plays in each of the last two playoffs and they hurt.

  105. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Correct Gipper,

Munsch is letting out 2 years of suppressed emotions about Baker Mayfield tonight rather than going to therapy. Sad!

  106. unbelievable Says:

Not just on Baker- it’s the entire offense.

    J-Mac drops in 1st quarter.

    Baker fumble in 4th

Barton early snap after that on 3rd and inches went backwards

Offense chit the bed multiple times, by multiple players.

  107. Lightningvinny Says:

Cliff outcoached Liam tonight ,,, the Bucs didn’t know what he was up to , it sucks but there were 30 plays that game that could have changed that game,,, congrats Rod , you have been waiting all year for that fumble so you could calm Baker a bum,,, You got your wish ,,, but I’ll take another division championship next year and who knows , with a upcoming Defense we might even make a run

  108. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Antoine Winfield just isn’t the same player anymore…… he’s invisible out there

Jamel Dean & Winfield both seem to have lost a step and they are not playing up to their contracts…..especially Winfield

  109. SteveK Says:

    Come on dudes,

Both can be true. Baker had a great regular season.

Bakers timely fumble tonight was the biggest reason we lost. Period.

Baker had an INT late last year too.

  110. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Couch Fan, HELL YEAHHHHHHH I put more blame on JOSH FREAKEN HAYES than I do Mayfield……..

I saw MULTIPLE plays by Hayes where he wasn’t lined up correctly. Especially on the TD throw by Daniels in the 4th quarter….They were on Bucs 7 yard line, and Hayes was playing at least 5 yards off???? What the hell for????
WR ran a slant and it was over! STUPIDITY!!!

Bakers situation was different with the handoff….it was timing..
He took the blame but who really screwed that up??

  111. BucfaninMi Says:

Baker took the blame, McMillan bumped the ball. And Barton needs off season work, or move him

  112. Chad Says:

Ok Joe, now make a post talking about the middle of the field being open all night for Washington, time of possession for Washington, Bucs were only able to run 44 plays and that’s for the whole game. Talk about how Washington didn’t punt the whole game, talk about all the 4th downs they converted against the Bucs. Bakers fumble sucked but the game was tied with over 4 minutes left, I thought it would be up to the defense to get off the field there and give the offense a chance to win the game

  113. Let ‘em bake Says:

    Gipper. Well said.

  114. Chris Says:

All yall talking about fumbles drops and this wasn’t on the d… no one respects a Bowles D they went for it every 4th down. Who does that in the NFL! Washington passed up 2 FIELD GOALS that would’ve made the SCORE 29-20 this defense sucked ALL YEAR LONG

  115. SteveK Says:

We can’t have that fumble right there. That lost is the games. Any other argument I must consider the stop the defense just made, start of the 4th quarter, and you fumble a handoff. Can’t happen now.

  116. Cbell96825 Says:

The 3rd and inches and Corner depth is what lost the game if we score a TD there it takes a TD to beat us, long offseason ahead. This one hurt! We need defense
LB, Corner and another safety will help. I love this team to much sometimes and watching us hand them the game will make this offseason sting and some big changes are coming! Go Bucs see you next year

  117. Saskbucs Says:

Regardless of who is coaching next season … this is a SB contending team after all the defensive holes get addressed this offseason and they will be addressed through the draft and FA, that’s a guarantee.

This is not a bad team. Without the injuries we are in a tight divisional round battle next week again. It’s a scared team because under Bowles they have never been coached to go for the throat. They have been taught to play safe. Don’t get beat deep, don’t put the ball on the ground, be careful out there guys. That’s the message. This team needs the message to be, we are better than them, this is our house, go lay it all out there and then coaching to match it.

  118. BucfaninMi Says:

Hayes barely made the team, he should not even be on a NFL team.

  119. Durango 95 Says:

Championship teams do not give up long drives time after time. Offense couldn’t save the game for the team, tonight.. Is it asking too much for fans to see the defense step up and lead this team to victory. I don’t think so. Is Todd Bowles capable of leading a team any further any than this. I don’t think so.

    Secure Coen 2025

  120. Red86 Says:

Say it with me. Baker is inconsistent. For two years we had horrible first half many times. Some case no scores in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. The near pick throwing into triple coverage to McMillan was atrocious. And the fumble completely flipped our 10 points advantage with two nothing burger on offense late. But, hey I’m a hater and not a Bucs fan. Smh.

  121. SteveK Says:

Nah, the $30 million dollar player that takes up 20%+ of the salary cap resources to build a team should have a greater impact and expectation. Blaming Josh Hayes is a fool’s errand. I lf he was prime Revis, and paid like Revis, then ok!

  122. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Yeah, yall quick to blame one dude ….Baker

But yet the Bucs was playing well until he ignited the whole team but rumbling down the middle of the field running over people so the Bucs can tie before the half.

BAKER is the only reason why the Bucs even made the playoffs this year..

All Bucs fans should be thanking Baker and not sheitting on him.

  123. BucsFan2520 Says:

    Rod Munch

    Youre a waste of life

  124. Frank Pillow Says:

Excellent point on Barton’s HUGE mistake. Can’t be overlooked. If we take a second to look at things objectively, this team overachieved in some key areas and simply failed in others. Heading into the season with no quality 2nd MLB, no edge rush and garbage across the secondary going to come back and bite us—and bite us it did. All year long. Tonight we paid the ultimate price. 32 was exposed time after time.

  125. Buddha Says:

Another terrible game plan by Coen. Also he turned 2nd and 2 into 4th and 4. Should have gone for it on 4th down.

  126. Chad Says:

Stevek, if your putting this loss solely on baker than that makes you a hater, that’s fumble sucked at a bad time, baker took blame. But don’t tell me this defense played good enough to win the game. Game is tied with over 4 minutes left, it’s on the defense to get a stop and give the offense a chance to go win the game

  127. Jackson Says:

Off topic, is Lavonte David ok?

  128. Matt Says:

You can make a case Bowles is the worst coach of all time.

He was a bad coach in the more old school NFL.

Now that the league has modernized and has more optimal decision making? He’s awful, awful, awful.

Every game we start 10 points behind because of Bowles. Like the other coach is consistently 10 points better. Lamar Jackson vs Will Levis is less of a mismatch than Todd Bowles vs other coaches

  129. IE Bucs Says:

Bowles and the defense was the readon we lost, but this was not great performance from Coen.

If we want Coen as HC, we would have him, because today’s game will not get him a HC job with another team this year.

  130. gp Says:

    WOW
Y’all are all over the place!
    Lemme add another for you
The refs took a strip interception away from us where the receiver was not down by contact when he gave up the ball.
    7 points
Strangely similar to another call a few games back when MacMillan had a ball stripped away from him after he possessed it IN TH ENDZONE.
    7 points
Both calls technically INCORRECT by the refs and both calls cost us the game.

Otherwise, I’d say the game was played well by both teams.
Still wondering why Bowles is banking time-outs though.
Does he think he can sell them in the off season or something?

  131. BucsFan2520 Says:

Baker had three incomplete passes. Two second half drives. Defense couldn’t get off the field and Coen had a bad night calling plays

  132. Chad Says:

Like I said this loss isn’t only on baker, it’s on the defense and offense. This was a team loss

  133. Scott Sharkey Says:

The defense could not cover the ground with a blanket, but sure … it was Baker’s fault…

Sorry, that was on Coen. You simply don’t get cute in your own red zone..

  134. Bucsfan1988 Says:

    Rod Munch,
Try & get some sleep tonite bro……

You’ll see tomorrow that it wasn’t all on Baker. He didn’t cost us the game. It didn’t come down to one play…….

We had mistakes all around from different players and Dean’s injury KILLED us. JOSH FREAKEN HAYES……If I see that dude on the field next year, ima lose my ever-loving $hit!!!

Offense didn’t have the ball enough cuz defense couldn’t force a Commanders punt…not 1 damn punt!!!!

  135. CaliBucsfanClarke Says:

What a way to end the season, this one hurts.

  136. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    :

And where the hell is Antoine Winfield….. he’s not the same player anymore

    STOP BLAMING BAKER!

……There are 52 other players on the roster that could’ve played better to…..like the Secondary and the LBs.

Did you dumb Bucs fans forget that the Bucs barely made the playoffs????

Hell, it was the commanders that got the Bucs into the playoffs by beating the Falcons that the Bucs couldn’t beat all year long!

I swear, you Bucs fans are idiots

  137. Mike C Says:

Commanders had less penalties, wow you don’t say!

  138. Bosch Says:

The Bucs offense hod one turnover. And the defense forced how many turnovers? In fact, when was their last turnover? Hmmmm…. Does the HC need to replace his DC?

Seriously. This franchise can take a huge step forward. All it takes is to divest itself of its two greatest liabilities (HC and DC) in one simple transaction.

  139. BelleGladeBuc Says:

Washington’s offense dominated our defense in Time of Possession, running 69 plays for 35 minutes and 26 seconds.

The Bucs defense allowed Washington to control the game.

The Bucs lost because of that.

  140. Oscar Says:

Tom Brady throws 3 picks against the Packers and the Bucs still win that game and go on to win the Super Bowl. Baker almost played a perfect game and they lost. I don’t know if the missed handoff is on him. I think if you losers want to blame someone it should be MacMillan. The play is in front of him. Baker had his back turned and when he turned MacMillan was almost past him. He has some responsibility for the timing of that play I’m sure. No one has eyes in the back of his head. I’m sure Baker will take responsibility but he shouldn’t.

  141. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

Issue I have with pinning the loss on one play is the idea of a counterfactual. If only this hadn’t happened . . . Well, if only the defense had gotten an interception, then . . . or if Kancey had gotten that sack . . . or some seemingly inconsequential play had been different earlier in the game, then . . . who knows? That’s just it. Who knows what might’ve happened. Maybe the fumble doesn’t happen and on the next play someone get’s a season ending injury? or, or, or. Again, I’m not saying it didn’t hurt. Of course it did. I’m not saying it didn’t suck the wind out of our sails and put our tired D back on the field too soon. It did. But it’s a logical fallacy to say *this* was *the* play that cost us the game.

And I’m sure Baker will be thinking about it for a while, but not for 7 1/2 months. Pros don’t dwell on one play like that or it’d mess them up. I guess that’s for fans.

Once more, gentlemen, it’s been a pleasure. I look forward to the off season and next year.

  142. Durango 95 Says:

Any of you stat guys know how many long drives the skins had tonight. Must have been at least three, of probably 70 yards. Maybe four. No team will ever win with a mess like that. The offense couldn’t carry the day. Is it asking too much for the defense to rise to the occasion just one time throughout the season. This is what the whole season would like if the offense hadn’t bailed them out over and over again

  143. Ben Says:

I hope he doesthink about it as well as the 2nd botched snap by barton and him. Those things cant happen in playoffs.

  144. Bnasty25 Says:

BLAME BAKER BUT NOT THIS SORRY ASS DEFENSE… WE SHOULD’VE LOST BY DOUBLE DIGITS IF QUINN DIDN’T TAKE THE POINTS… OUR QUITE DEFENSIVE SCHEMES SUCK BOTTOM LINE. BOWLES HAS HAD HORRIBLE PLAY CALLS AS A COACH… ALL OUT BLITZ AGAINST THE RAMS TO KUPL RING A BELL? HIS BEND OR BREAK DEFENSE DOESNT WORK. HIRE A FLUFFER TO GET OUR D TO GET TOUGH AGAIN

  145. Jarrett Says:

    I agree with Munch.

I’m DONE with Baker after that fumble.

    Fire Bowles

  146. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

Yeah you know what happened. Besides I guess him having a 146.8 passer rating had nothing to do with it. Not to mention he would of had a perfect game if the 3 dropped balls that were perfectly thrown were caught.yeah it’d Bakers fault!!!

  147. Godlovesbucs Says:

Forced 0 punts. 0 3 and outs. -10 min time of possession and 0 turnovers. Choose to settle for fg o.

4th and 2 when baker was playing well and the d was not. Bowles put his faith in a banged up and disappointing defense to get a stop instead of trusting a top 5 offense to get 2 yards.

    Todd bowles lost this game.

  148. Oz Len Says:

Oh, now Rod Munch comes alive. Pound salt big guy

  149. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

Rod you know nothing but that you are an idiot and have been waiting all ye a r but you have been shut up all year by Bakers almost perfect play.

  150. Mike Says:

Any Bucs fan who thinks Baker is not a bonafide top 10 qb is stupid. Dude was 15-18 with a 146.5 passer rating and 2 td’s. His rookie center botched the 3rd and inches, and the fumble was weird….dumb play call that deep in your own territory, and the timing was off. Baker did something only 2 other qb’s in history have done with 4500 yards, 40+ td’s and a 70+% completion. If you think he’s a problem, you are stupid. Meanwhile, guys who some of these dumb fans think are better…Herbert and Love…looked like JV quarterbacks this weekend. So, give me a break with the “Baker has something still to prove” nonsense. That defense didn’t force one punt in the entire game. Second worst pass defense and 26th in total defense. The defense and Todd Bowles are the problem.

  151. Itzok Says:

It was his one mistake and it was devastating. His cocksucking defense didn’t help by keeping baker off the field all night

  152. SBucs Says:

The Bucs DBs couldn’t cover a blind nun on a wheelchair. Hayes one on one on the best receiver Washington has is criminal coaching. Todd out coached for the eighteen time this year.

  153. Jarrett Says:

What do you guys get out of protecting baker mayfield

    Dude is a Poser.

I’ve seen enough of baker but we’re stuck with him for 2 more seasons.

Carlton Davis and Devin white advance to the next round.

  154. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

Listen to Mike, he knows exactly what happened. Munch is a boy with serious quaterback envy.

  155. Buc2Blame Says:

He blew the game just like he did last yr. Baker is a human mess up. His whole career nothing has changed. Dude was 2nd in the league in turnovers 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ he is who he is a Bridge QB

  156. Capt Ahab Says:

Baker Mayfield is a scrappy competitor, I like him. The turning point of this football game was Mayfield’s botched handoff on the Jett Sweep to McMillan, it was a great call, the replay showed green grass for McMillan.
The defensive secondary is atrocious, it has been all year.
I get the injuries, all teams deal with injuries. Bowles reliance on his soft zone has to go.

  157. Simeon4HOF Says:

Trask mob gonna go xtra nuts next 7 months now lol

  158. BUCDADDY Says:

Everyone is blaming Baker, but there is a lot of blame to be passed around. Winfield is an overpaid has been now. I’m this close to burning his jersey. He cost us a TD early in the game, then did absolutely nothing the entire game. Josh Hayes, I can’t believe he is a professional athlete. He’s a pro at getting burnt. Kancey couldn’t bring down, in fact, the entire defense struggled to tackle that skinny, anorexic Daniels multiple times. Embarrassing, considering he looks like he weighs 200 lbs. soaking wet. Thus was a hard one to take. We need a Gruden type savior. Bowles has not instilled enough discipline in this overly talented team that constantly plays down to its competition by making huge mistakes.

  159. Bartow Buc Says:

Mark my words everyone!! After drafting some additional defensive talent, the Bucs will be in the Super Bowl next year !!

Yes Baker Mayfield can win a Super Bowl!! Heck Trent Dilfer won the Super Bowl!

    Defense wins Championships!!

    Go Bucs !!!

  160. Hold Up... Says:

D forced zero punts, zero turnovers, had zero sacks (actual QB TFLs and not forcing the QB out of bounds at the line of scrimmage) and let Wash keep the ball for +11 minutes. While the fumble was technically on Baker, it was a bad play call when your that deep in your own territory. Timing of the snap and motion has to be perfect. Bucs only had 3 possession in the second half. Had to go for the TD there because I think everyone knew that going for the FG to tie was going to lead to the exact result that transpired.

  161. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

Rod quarterback envy Munch (RQEM) says it’s Bakers fault, it’s Bakers fault!!!!
Meanwhile Baker would have thrown a perfect game 158.6 if his 3 perfectly thrown balls would have easily been caught. TOTAL AND UTTER IMBECILE RQEM

  162. J Simms Says:

The ‘botched’ handoff wasn’t Baker’s fault. The rookie wide receiver was the one at fault, he was past Baker before he could turn and give him the ball. The receiver has to time that play and I’m not surprised that under pressure a rookie receiver messed it up, they rarely take handoffs anyway. On the second fumble, the center forget the snap count, it was clearly the center’s fault since the whole team moved except him. So stop blaming Baker because it’s convenient or because you already have some bias against him. The guy threw 41 TD passes, 2nd in the NFL, passed for 4500 yards, ended the season ranked 5th among the 32 starting QBs, and got the team to the playoffs.

  163. LakelandSteve Says:

I know the defense made a red zone 4’th down stop and Baker fumbled. But look no farther than our illustrious defense if you want to look at why we lost. No punts for the commies, no turnovers forced by our defense and we made Jayden Daniel’s look like Michael Vick.

  164. Simon says Says:

Baker got nervous…you could see it on his face….he got tight ….unbelievable Evans finally…came to play tonite…..shirt happens…if they let Baker run a up tempo offense …they would had more opportunities to score…..Red skins put everything on the line tonite….Bucs played not to lose ….Toddies should have gone for more 4th downs….Bakers happy …got $$ and a baby…screw football….enjoy your millions…let the fans suffer

  165. Buc Rost Says:

WARNING: According To The Surgeon General; Medical Testing Has
Shown That Anyone Who Chooses To Become A Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football Fan, Regularly Follows The Team And Frequently Watches Their Football Games, Has Been Proven To Be At Risk For Severe Mental Anguish, Frequent Outbursts Of Uncontrollable Anger (typically related to mind-boggling instances of zero common sense on the field of play) And Mid-Winter Depression!

  166. What it is Says:

The rookie quaterback didn’t have a 146.8 passer rating now did he. Mayfield an animal. We will never know what really happened on the fumble. We are so lucky to have a quarterback that can play that good in a playoff game. Truly amazing. If the receivers would have caught the other 3 good throws Mayfield would have had a perfect game, perfect!!!

  167. Simon says Says:

Remember football is a business….the players are off until July ….almost 6 months vacation….I am happy for Baker….got a baby …time off for 6 months….millions to enjoy…..the NFL is fixed..watch a few upsets happen ….gamblers control the game…..just sick of Mahomes & KC get preferential treatment…… REMEMBER THAT NO PASS INTERFERENCE CALL…. REDSKINS SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A TD OUT OF THAT……Enjoy your Baby Baker . ..bub byeeeee

  168. Xristos Says:

The fumble changed the momentum of the game no doubt.
But you dont lose a game only for 1 play unless its the last play of the game.
We got the ball after, we were marching for a TD.
Bucky made the worng decision to cut inside instead of diving for the 1st down.
2nd and 1 we didnt get it.
3rd and one we botched the play and we kicked the field goal.
Defense could not make a stop.
Yes the fumble was important but its not one play only that cost us the game.
And can we be honest for a second. Who thougt that after the field goal we will make a stop. When all game we never saw a punter.
Offense made mistakes yes. Its not only on defense but boy we never saw a punt from WSH. Not once.
This is a team loss. Coaches and players take the blame.

  169. Simon says Says:

Anybody reading this: DO NOT FEEL BAD !!!I don’t believe we would have won next week anyways….Mike Evans looked more determined tonite….guy has slot of heart…glad he got that extra $ 3000000.00 bonus….WE WON OUR DIVISION & GOT TO THE PLAYOFFS. !!!! Personally , I an done watching football this, year….LOVE THE FIGHT GUYS ……

  170. Brendahadababy Says:

Rod Munch… please stay off the booze

  171. MelvinJunior Says:

Baker MUST eliminate the turnovers and do a MUCH better job at holding ONTO the damn ball (and getting it OUT of his hands MUCH quicker) next season. 30+ INT’s and Fumbles combined is totally, completely UNACCEPTABLE. It’s just what it is. And, it CANNOT be that way. It just has to be better than that. He has to know how many timeouts he has left, too… Thankfully, he was ‘bailed-out’ with the PI there, & then the TD. This team was RARELY ‘ready’ to play, especially at home… Even more so after a ‘win’ & it didn’t matter WHO they were playing, either. You just DON’T lose that game at HOME. You CAN’T. This team had THE ‘easiest’ 2nd-Half Schedule in the entire league. LOTS of “Smoke & Mirrors” (fooling LOTS of people/fans). It was a ‘slightly’ above average football team in a REAL BAD Division. It just is what it is & they are who they are… Exactly who I thought we were. And, that’s okay! But, just don’t ‘act-like’ that Bowles has done ANYTHING ‘special’ here, with this team. Because, HE HASN’T.

  172. Sooners1 Says:

Are you fu**in kiddin me blaming Baker for 1 bad play when the D couldn’t stop JD and his wide open receivers all night come on wake the F up. One bad play didn’t give up 20 points the crap show of a defense did. Learn how to cover receivers without mugging them, tackle ball carries for a lose not throw them forward for extra couple years.
You Baker haters are pathetic say he’s good when winning but then 1 bad play and y’all cut him down. His numbers are tops on the league and still say he sucks, horse sh!t, go find a defense who can shut receivers down and can tackle.

  173. Buc Rost Says:

Agree 💯% that “KC” has been given The Red Carpet and Officiated differently then their opponents. It’s ALL about the additional Advertising/Sponsor money they bring to the League from all the suddenly new, yet totally NFL Football clueless “Taylor Swift” worldwide followers, the Swifties(🍭)‼️ As alway’s, it’s all about “Greed & Money”

KC is a good team, but they also have the League in their corner, as the “Taylor Swift” connection brings a ton of new; Whatever Taylor does, wants, watches or likes……..her million(s) of devoted Swifties must do or want the same exact thing……and will $pend whatever amount of money it requires to support her, and ultimately the KC Chiefs & NFL! 🤑🤑🤑

  174. MelvinJunior Says:

No “Baker HATER” here. Only stating the obvious. The TRUTH. And, NEVER ONCE, “Blamed Baker” for tonight’s game. It was an ‘all-around’ effort, all across the board, including COACHING.

  175. Chris Says:

This right here couldn’t be more spot on.Baker Mayfield stole Rod Munch’s girlfriend and he’s been sallty to the point of vengeance ever since.

  176. MelvinJunior Says:

But, it just comes with the ‘territory’ of being a Starting QB. You bask in the glory when WINNING (which always ‘cover up’ A LOT), & you ‘stick-out’ like a sore thumb, when your NOT (when everything is magnified under a microscope). It just is what it is. But, there has been NO ONE worse on here than all of the “Baker-LOVERS,” & it’s not even close. I mean, are YOU “family!?” It’s just WEIRD. I’ve been a HUGE “Kentucky Fan” and season ticket holder (both basketball (literal ‘floor’ seats) AND football (including a box/suite)), since BIRTH (my dad is a big booster – used to let them use our plane and would fly to ‘recruiting trips’ with Tubby, when in my early 20’s), & I can honestly say that I have NEVER ‘followed’ ANY “Former-Player’s” Pro Team’s Site, Blog, or ANYTHING else, ever before. Most people/fans on here though, have been VERY ‘fair’ concerning Baker, and his play), either which way! We root FOR HIM. 💯

  177. Big Jim Says:

Big Jim is not satisfied with the outcome common but obviously Baker Mayfield did a good job, all I see is a lot of whining and no appreciation, or gratitude, that’s the problem with people today they have no gratitude towards nothing, Big Jim is not happy, do not upset me, go bucs!

  178. MelvinJunior Says:

So, I guess, YOU find ‘30+ INT’s & Fumbles’ combined (on the season) just fine then LoL… No Biggie. Just nooooo problem at all. Defend him at ALL cost. It is ALWAYS, ‘someone’ else’s fault. Only, when it comes to Baker. And, the rest of you just better SHUT UP… Because, I Wuuuvvv Himmmms. Hahahah Get-Out.

  179. nathan2535 Says:

Rod Munch…what’s the highest level of football you played?

Only asking because you seem very passionate about your critiques of Baker and from someone who played division 1 football with 2 bowl rings it seems like your criticisms are misdirected.

I feel the defense played great in the red zone but their inability to get off the field and limit 3rd/4th down conversions drained the clock significantly and prevented the offense from being on the field.

Only 3 incompletions & 100 yds rushing on 25 carries calculates to me as a productive performance with limited opportunity. But that’s the just my opinion.

  180. Sooners1 Says:

You’re right those stats are bad for him and hurt the team and lead to a lose BUT when the secondary leave receives wide open over the middle all game long and in the end zone for easy TD can’t blame Baker. Give them a 5 yard pass and can’t tackle and give them 7 8 10 yards after the catch come on where’s the blame and the crappy D who gave up. The run D was working well but the secondary gave them the game not 1 bad play by Baker.
Look at the Dallas game the secondary made Rush look like a pro bowl qb, hmmm. If the secondary can’t cover anyone need to replace

  181. Sooners1 Says:

Yeah Baker sucks, really 15 of 18 for 185 and 2 tds for a passer rating of 147.5 best rating in franchise history in playoffs? In an article posted on here about the secondary sums it all up secondary sucks and cost them the game not 1 bad offensive play.

  182. Ian Says:

All on no balls bowels . He will throw his team under the bus . Not my fault they didn’t do what I said . What an ass fire him immediately bad clock management . And piss poor defense . Not the D line but the rest stinks

  183. Rugbyroosh Says:

    Rod Munch,

Did you play football past middle school? Your assessment of the game and Baker is rather comical. I bet you couldn’t throw a 5 yard out route, probably not even a TE dump. You’re the chump here. Get a life.

  184. Jarrett Says:

Like I said before. I agree with Rod Munch 100 percent

Baker apologists this is going to be a long offseason of making excuses.

All baker had to do was PUT THEM AWAY with that drive.

Instead he coughs up a fumble inside our own 20 yard line.

We had them. Baker cost us this game just like he threw the pick in Detriot last year.

  185. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

What did Bowels say about the fumble AFTER the game??
“Baker’s the reason we are here.” Lol

  186. Gipper Says:

More convinced than ever that there is a big chunk of people in America who have been dumbed down.

Just looking at the comments from “the athletes” who comment on these pages is evidence that most have never played competitive sports. To execute a football play requires precision. For instance consider the chain reaction in a passing play. Receiver has to be in the right place, the line has to cleanly block, the QB has to deliver a good throw, the receiver has to catch and then not fumble after being assaulted by a defender. Bucs had more good than bad this season but are still a work in progress. It is remarkable that with salary cap limitations post Brady the team has done as well as they have. When no less an authority than Brady himself says; ” Mayfield delivers an A+ pass, or a dime throw” it is pathetic reading comments here from a group of high school band boys headed up by Rod Munch.

  187. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

Keep throwin Baker. Next year, hopefully Chris Godwin will be back and you’ll lead the league in passer rating instead of ending in 3rd. Lmao

  188. Davyboy🏴‍☠️ Says:

2 sides of the same coin:
First side:Baker is involved in a fumble. Not clear who’s fault it really is. Geniuses immediately jump and call him a loser and he lost the game.
Second side: Baker’s passer rating for the last 3 games, when it matters 136.5. HIGHEST in the league. Head coach says “Baker is the reason we are here.
    Who ya gonna believe

i cant with you people blaming the whole loss on baker. he completed almost 85% of his passes! they weren’t dink and dunk passes, the avg was 10.7 yds. two touchdowns, made several huge 3rd down plays-including one where he plowed right through one of the best linebackers in the nfl.

yes, the fumble sucked. he admitted that it was on him. it was a timing issue-really can’t tell what went wrong on it. but the fumble isnt the reason they lost the game. yet again, the defense couldn’t get off the field. the time of possession was ridiculously lopsided, and when they did get the stop it was after they let the commanders drive 80 yds downfield with ease.

then, the defense couldnt get another stop when it counted and let them easily score the winning fg. they probably could have gotten a td if they wanted to. why is it that our defense never gets a turnover? they got like 6 or 7 interceptions ALL SEASON-and dropped several that were right in their hands but they couldn’t manage to hold onto the ball. ridiculous.

I could not read all the absolute stupid Horsesheet that is being printed on this thread. Baker Mayfield was NOT, repeat Not, responsible for the loss! Other than the handoff, he played great. How someone could say that Baker was at fault on this is stoopid. McMillian was past him when the fumble occurred. Baker showed class in not looking snake eyes at McMillin. More class, by far, than many of the posts here.

I knew it was a mistake checking out this story and comment section. It’s like Christmas Day for basement dweller trolls, kind of like how a crabby old lady’s day is made when a grocery clerk rings up something wrong.

Oh well, time to unplug until training camp, break out the scuba gear and hit the reefs. Got some nice rum for Christmas too, about time for a blender. See ya in July!

Baker is good. Cant fault him. Bowles had no answer for washington. Just like denver game. Owners cant admit that it is time to move on from bowles. Only reasonnhe is here is because nfc south is week as hell. Give cown the job and get a Dc. Or bring back Griden and start over. We need a spark. Todd is bad.

4th and 3 and we don’t go for it with the game on the line.
I think getting conservative in the final minutes of close football games has been the greater contributor to our failures.

Baker’s run got us back into this game, as much as his fumble cost us.

We’ve got the team and we even have the coaches, but they have to believe that when the extraordinary is needed they can trust their team to get it done. On 4th and 3, 4:41 left, go for it. At best you get the first, maybe the winning score, at worst you went down fighting.

  195. BakerFan Says:

So all you Baker Haters, let the Bucs trade Baker. The line would be long of potential trade partners. You guys are nothing but a BUNCH OF FOOLS.

First that play should not of been called…. ON COEN.

Second if you do call it, have Shepherd taking the handoff, not a weak Rookie (as in strength) who showed the moment was maybe too big for him. BTW I like him.

3rd The D showed promise but really they missed so many tackles and again left the middle open for anyone at High School level and above to make receptions.

This team has Defensive holes that must be addressed and I don’t mean by draft choices. Get some experience in here, LVD is probably retiring. Windows of winning the SB are small so react and get winners in here. BTW that is what Quinn did.

  196. Baker Is A Fajer Says:

Baker is a choker, a turnover machine, and a regular season stat padder.

The Baker stans here are ridiculous.

  197. 727BUC Says:

Rod munch you are a bum. Not baker….. what a joke you are to post like you do. Go find another team to “root” for. Wouldn’t be here without our leader Baker Mayfield. Real fans appreciate him and his teammates love him and follow him. Dude hasn’t had a lick of consistency his entire career. Maybe he’s the reason Canales and Coen look so good not the other way around. Stop posting total crap takes. This defense has holes all around. Our offense might be the best we’ve ever had last year and next year might be even better. Go bucs!!

  198. RodMunchlikesbonelesswings Says:

The Qb of this team literally put this team on his back all season. The defense didn’t force 1 punt and couldn’t get off the field. 72 to 46 plays ran. Rod, you should keep munching on Trask’s unit. You know zero about football.
