Todd Bowles Doesn’t Want To Hear About Wins

“‘Wins’ is the wrong word.”
Right now with the playoffs on the line, Todd Bowles isn’t worried about records or wins.
Right now Bowles is only worried about two specific wins: The Commandos tonight and the Bucs next Sunday.
If the Bucs win next week, Bowles and the Bucs will finish the regular season with 10 wins. That would be Bowles’ best regular season with the Bucs.
And no matter how much some fans may detest Bowles, it’s awfully hard to make a coaching change when a coach has double-digit wins and it’s the most he’s had in his Bucs tenure.
Bowles had no interest discussing his potential 10-win season after today’s blowout of the Panthers.
“No, we’re just trying to get to the playoffs,” Bowles said. “If we can win next week and get a little help, that will mean a lot to me.”
But wins and his record? That means nothing to Bowles. Right now, it’s all about the playoffs.
If the Bucs can get there.

They beat up on a team they “should” beat up on and still Trask has o have his whining comment!! We lost to the sucky Cowboys and nearly lost to this team last we played them, so yeah it’s a good win!
We’ll see what happens tonight and next week before we celebrate, just like Bowles said.

Given the history with the Aint’s both recent and past and the fact that this a home game anything less than a dominating game will be a disappointment. Thank goodness Mike Evans won’t have to deal with that dirtbag Lattimore.

The coach can’t make the plays too you morons.
Defense played lights out with the exception of a couple of plays where players were responsible for not making plays, not coaching or scheme.
Considering cap hell, expectations we’d suck by everybody, injuries etc etc etc it’s hard to argue Todd hasn’t overachieved.
Do yall think there are a bunch of .700 coaches out there? There are 4 IN NFL HISTORY. .600? Only 10 current coaches.

The Bucs fired Dungy for under performing.
If we keep Bowles, we lose Coen and we go 7-10 next year.

If you think going 9-8 and even 10-7 is worth keeping a coach around then you are a fan of mediocrity! We very easily could/should be 12-4 right now not worried about help from 2 other teams if we had a better defense philosophy where the dlinemen do what they’re trained to do and that is to rush the qb not covering rbs and receivers. His”exotic” blitzes barely fool anybody leaving gaping holes in coverage. Plus it’s obvious the players aren’t learning much from him and his defensive staff.

Anyone saying fire Bowles is a fu**ing idiot. Have you not ever been a Bucs fan? We’ve had some of the worst head coaches in the history of the league.
1. Bucco BA – good coach won a SB also inherited the best teams we’ve had since the late 90s just needed a QB. Even a top 10 QB would have been enough didn’t need TB12 we had Winston for Christ sakes.
2. Gruden – also inherited the best defense in the league.
3. Dungy – the only coach to take us from garbage to greatness.
4. Lovie smith

Since the break, the Bucs have 5 wins. They beat the Chargers and the bottom teams in the NFL: NY Giants, LV Raiders and Carolina twice while losing to a Dallas team without their QB. Not much to crow about.
I want to believe the Bucs can make a run, but if they get into the playoffs somehow as the #3, #4 or #7 seed, I doubt the Bucs could beat Philly, GB or Minn/Detroit in the first round even if they play at home. I certainly don’t see them winning a 2nd round game. The defense just isn’t good enough. The Bucs only chance is to win a shoot out and that’s not the way to win in the playoffs.

If Bowles loses next week, he’ll be fired. If he wins, he’ll be back whether the Bucs make the playoffs or not.

That’s a bit much joes! Nobody hates Bowles but hate the way he does his job. We went from 13-4 to 8-9 and still won the division. Is he a good coach or is this a really bad division? Not hard to fire him at all if he’s not growing or evolving but He’s got enough common sense to know postseason success is the only way to save his job and I’m sure Dungy would tell him even that’s not a sure thing.

That is right, the Bucs could end up having ten wins! Many other teams would like that record right now. Todd Bowles hired Canales, Coen, and others. He is also doing a great job in keeping the team together in and out of the locker room too. Other teams would love to have Bowles and Coen as head coaches. Bowles has two years left on his contract and probably isn’t going anywhere yet.
This week the team needs to not listen to the hype they are going to get. Tune it out and play like they did yesterday. Go Bucs!

Wow…what an interesting set of posts. I wonder how many of you saying that Atlanta wasn’t going to lose are feeling today? Now I will say that the officiating was iffy at best…but in the end it all worked out. As for Bowles, I often shift between getting rid of him, forcing him to hire a real DC, and having Coen move up. It’s not our money that’s being spent, no matter how much we might feel it is.

And the Glazers need to open the checkbook and make Coen the highest paid OC in league history…with a future HC side deal.

Some of you yahoos really need to go back and read the early years of the Bucs. I was a FAN through them. We would have killed for Todd Bowles. Not only is he heading his wounded, mostly young team to a 10-7 record, he has kept them together in the locker room. The Bucs had a 10 win season during Raheem Morris’ era, but they were denied the playoffs. You whiners really are pathetically stupid! I bet both Coen and CG14 (please don’t retire, Chris) are back as Bucs.

I hate the Buc fans who diminish beating NFL teams. Any given Sunday a team can beat another. The schedule is what it is and you take it as it is. Panthers almost beat the Chiefs, Panthers almost beat the Bucs the first time. You guys are pathetic you think the Eagle fans say yeah but it was the NY Giants? A win is a win and you should be happy when it happens. I think you guys must be miserable in life.
