Shame on the Buccaneers fans rooting for Tampa Bay to lose today. Joe has seen and heard some of you.
You don’t like head coach Todd Bowles. You don’t think he can win a Super Bowl. So you want him out on the next flight to Jersey. And you think the way to make that happens is for the Bucs to lose today to the Panthers and choke away a trip to the playoffs.
Shame, shame, shame.
The Bucs are 8-7 and in great shape to have their best record since winning 13 games in 2021. Still, the haters are flooding social media and banging bass drums and walking down Redington Beach.
Embarrassing.
However, they’re accurate in understanding that this is a must-win game for Todd Bowles.
“This is the kind of game that can get a coach fired,” said Ira Kaufman on his popular podcast.
It’s no hot take from The Sage of Tampa Bay Sports, who is a friend of Bowles. It’s just NFL reality that Ira has seen through 49 seasons covering the sport.
“This is the game, coming off the Dallas game. Don’t lose to a 4-11 [Panthers] team when your season’s on the line,” Kaufman cautioned.
Joe agrees. Not only are the Panthers bad, the Bucs are at home and the Panthers just pulled the plug on their best offensive player.
Joe was looking for style points against the Panthers four weeks ago. Not today. It’s Week 17. The Bucs are the better team. Just go show it or a lot of jobs should be in jeopardy.

Yes Joe, definitely want to see the Bucs win, even though I have little hope for the playoffs with this defense. Let’s hope that with Shag they can get the defense going. However yes, should they lose today the defensive scheme must change. Indeed if the Bucs are a playoff caliber team they will spank the Panthers today and the Saints next week. Division riivals or not the Bucs are the better team. However ,what is the saying ,actions speak louder than words!!!

I agree with the comment on wanting to lose. With our history we have a coach that has won the division twice and is knocking on the door again. I don’t want to lose Liam either but. Bowles found him. He found Canales last year. Gotta cheer for our boyz!!! Go Bucs!!! This is our year!!!

The NFL is a business and so goes coaches and many others within a team. Hope for the win today and next week. Would hate to see Todd go. The players respect and speak highly about him. He has done better than many other coaches.

Times have changed and Bowles ain’t no Tony Dungy either.
If the Bucs loses today, I truly don’t see Bowles returning next year because the Glazers see what the fans see too.

Our fanbase isn’t realistic they don’t understand football. Facts are facts Bowles did one of the best coaching jobs in nfl history last year. This year he is doing good we were projected to be the last wild card team at 9-8 after tonight we will be back in the Divsion lead he will over achieve again.
We have no culture issues nobody getting arrested no diva wrs crying for the ball he leads with character and strength. Very underrated coach because he is t flashy he isn’t entertaining.
We should be proud and thankful he is here but sure would like to see him improve his clock management it’s a issue for sure

Blowles should’ve been fired after the 2022 season plain and simple. Just like the Taints coach who couldn’t make the Bucs go 0-27 got fired he gave the GOAT his first losing season ever and was instrumental in several of the losses that season as he is in every season he’s been our HC. It is almost guaranteed we will never win more than 9 games in a season as long as he’s here and if the Glazers aren’t fine with mediocrity then they’ll jettison him like NY did.

How can anyone defend a 500 coach. ? That is all he will ever be. Great person, nothing special about his coaching.. maybe if he was strictly a defensive coordinator.I don’t believe he is capable of doing both.

El HEFE don’t even believe that hype because most of the Brady fans left with him. Baker brought the fanboi Brigade to this site and have brought it’s quality down a whole lot. At least Brady’s fans had a giant legacy to base their passion on his greatness, Baker fans have based most of their passion on college and their most intimate feelings for him to fuel theirs. These people will follow him to every team he goes to even if he’s 3rd string.

I want the Bucs to win every game although I know that is not likely. However, what I want most is for the Bucs to play with heart and maximum effort that is visible to the fans every game. Regardless of talent level and coaching staffs, I want to feel like we are doing our best every game. Fans will be very tolerant and supportive but will quickly turn if lack of effort, ineptitude or indifference is detected and each has been detected this year on the part of coaches and players.

Been a fan of this team since the very beginning. I am old and impatient. We finally have the makings of a great offense, and the only thing holding this team back is the poor clock management and game decisions of our HC, and his defensive schemes that never adapt to our opponents. I’m not going to live long enough to see this team cash in on the talent we have on offense. We benefit from competing in a weak division. Bowles defenses suck because of Bowles. I never like seeing the Bucs lose. The ideal situation would be the Bucs win, and Bowles still gets fired. We all know that’s not going to happen, so right now I just want Mike Evans to keep his streak alive. I’m cheering for him. If we win the game, I’m happy for the win. If we lose the game and Bowles gets fired, I’ll view that as a win for the immediate future of the franchise. Any change has to be an improvement for our game management and defensive schemes.

Most of us were fans for years in the lost decade and earlier. We’ve had enough of losing. You should check out the heat on coaches in places like New England and Dallas. The fan base there is brutal. Personally, I like the fact that missing the playoffs might be a ticket to unemployment for Bucs coaches. Personally, I always hope we win. This season I am thinking that we win out the rest of the way.
I would like to see Todd Bowles surrender the defensive play calling duties to someone up and coming next season. Pay Liam Coen what it takes to keep him around.

The hate for TB is actually pretty ridiculous. He he the best coach ever? No. Is he top 5 in the league? No. But he is a good coach, the players love him and he’s gotten us to the playoffs every year as a HC. HCs aren’t easy to come by in the NFL. All these fools think the grass will be greener on the other side and TB has improved as a HC every year he has been with us.

It may not be the polite thing to say but if someone believes “this is the kind of game that can get a coach fired” it also means the season was a shaky one for the way this team was coach. No coach loses their job in this league after just A game. It is a flag that is raised after cumulative games and coach’s performance and how they managed those games and loss to a bad team only to follow up with another loss against another bad team is what will get them fired.
Personally, I don’t see the drive, the competence, the fire, in coach Bowles to win a Super Bowl. We have the talent to win one but it won’t be with this head coach.
