“Past The Point Of Pressure”
December 29th, 2024So here is the deal:
The Bucs win today and then start lighting candles through the early evening hours hoping the Commandos can beat the Dixie Chicks.
A Bucs win and a Dixie Chicks loss and the Bucs are back on top of the division and control their own destiny next week for the NFC South title.
Lose today combined with a Dixie Chicks win and it’s all over. The Bucs, for the first time since 2019, would watch the playoffs on TV just like you and Joe.
If both the Bucs and Dixie Chicks lose, then the Bucs must beat the slimy Saints next week and somehow a miracle happens and the Stinking Panthers win on the road at Atlanta next week.
So last week Joe asked Bucs corner Zyon McCollum if he is feeling the pressure.
“Pressure? Not necessarily,” McCollum said.
McCollum wasn’t being arrogant or flippant. The Bucs, he said, have been playing under pressure for so long, it’s second nature.
“I think we are past the point of pressure,” McCollum said. “At this point in the season, the pressure has been on for a long time. About the past five weeks.
“We know the assignment. We know we have to win to move on.”
So Joe also asked McCollum if, after the Bucs played such a sloppy game in Dallas and in the process lost the division lead, it was best to quickly forget Dallas and just lock in on Carolina.
Yes and no, McCollum said.
“Definitely don’t want to forget about it,” McCollum said about the Dallas dump. “You want to learn from the mistakes you made, both as a team and individually.
“For sure, you want to get that taste out of your mouth. You want to get back to work. You want to get focused on the future and what is coming at us.
“Right now we have to beat the Panthers. So sure, you could say that [it’s best to move on].”
If the Bucs aren’t careful, they could wake up tomorrow morning not planning on beating the slimy Saints, but ordering U-Hauls and booking their flights to the DR or Tulum.

Gotta win! If we win out and commanders lose out then we would still have a wild card spot I believe

Lighting candles and twenty Hail Mary’s!
Loved Zyon’s attitude. Learn from the mistakes and move on for the win. This is a must have today. Washington must win too. Thinking there will be a lot of hype on this game all day long due to Penix vs Daniels and prime time.

Sucks that we always have to rely on other teams to lose to gain ground. That’s not the sign of a good football team.

What a joke to even be in this position, in a terrible division. Fire Bowles yesterday.

I blame our coaches on the cowboys loss. Am I the only one to notice how aggressive n consistently the cowboys defense were as they game planned zero in on targeting the ball for a take away. Coaches should’ve been preaching that to players the entire game. Ryan Miller had a pass in his hand earlier in the season against the Falcons but it was taken away due to his passive play, he’s a rookie, the same thing happened with McMillan against the Cowboys, he too, a rookie. Where’s the coaching? Despite the Cowboys aggressiveness to strip, snatch, n take the ball away, Rachaard White still insist on carrying the ball out in one hand which lead to a takeaway for the Cowboys. BA wouldn’t tolerate this. Again, where’s the coaching? Todd Bowles is not a proven Head Coach. He’s a good DC only.

@Permanently Moderated…I agree, I think we’ve been fortunate how our division has slumped, and frankly not without money and effort from those teams when you look at it. The Saints and Falcons spent a fortune in FA on franchise QBs, who haven’t amounted to squat. The takeaway is that we’ve made the most of the situation. I don’t think fans realize how much went into the Brady era, and its aftermath where owners are going to want to see Licht ease down from the spending, get the dead cap right, then re-build through the draft while holding onto our own key pieces. It’s the part of football that if fans took more interest in, it would put most everything into context on why this team is where it’s at. It looks worse when your key starters get injured, and guys like Britt and Yaya didn’t make a step forward as full-time starters.
I think starting in 2025, the stars are about to align again, and Licht will be spending some money re-tooling on defense. Teams like the Lions, 49ers, even the Eagles are starting to ease down from their championship ceiling, and the NFC will be for the taking.

We were plying for the 3 seed last week. The Dallas loss put us out of that contention. Move on to the panther game. catch up young Buc

Bucs can’t stop a nose bleed

That pressure began after the 2nd loss to Atl and and our defense made Kissing Cousins look all universe. Totally self inflicted by coaches and players alike
