Todd Bowles Hasn’t Ruled Out Jordan Whitehead (Yet)
December 24th, 2024So the Bucs made the first step on Tuesday to bring back starting safety Jordan Whitehead to active status. And Bucs coach Todd Bowles wouldn’t rule him out for Sunday’s critical game with the Stinking Panthers.
That doesn’t mean Whitehead will play. Just that Bowles isn’t sure if Whitehead has advanced in his rehab enough.
“Mentally, yes,” Bowles said of Whitehead’s ability to play this coming weekend. “Physically, there are some things he could have done better.
“Physically, there are some things he’s done well. I won’t know really until Thursday where he progresses to.”
Bowles noted that Tuesday the team only had a walk-through practice. So with Thursday’s practice expected to be more intense (the Bucs will not practice on Christmas Day), Bowles said he may have a better idea of how Whitehead is progressing.
Of course, Bowles is not scheduled to speak with the local pen and mic club until Friday after practice around noon.
The Bucs have 21 days (three weeks) to activate Whitehead off injured reserve. Of course, that window lasts until the wild card round of the playoffs.
That may be too late.

Hopefully we are in the last days of Bowels as a Buc!

Maybe we can rule Bowles out for the rest of the year? That would be perfect for everyone.

I don’t think we are going to beat the panthers. Our season is over. we will probably beat the saints but this team has no discipline.

@ProudBucsFan
I had them winning 9 from the beginning.

ProudBuc says this:”I don’t think we are going to beat the panthers. Our season is over. we will probably beat the saints but this team has no discipline.” I completely agree, we are going to lose to the Panthers. They have momentum–check out the Cardinals game. Todd Bowles does not motivate anyone to play hard. We basically lost to the Panthers a few weeks ago. Bucs are favored and that means we choke and we lose. We will beat the Saints as they are tanking. Sorry but I have zero confidence, whatever happened to the Bucs last Panthers game is not gone as it happened at Dallas too. We have to hope Glazers jettison Todd Bowles–it would be the only decent thing to happen from this epic collapse.

Will we see any articles about the offensive performance vs the Cowboys?
I just re-watched the Cowboys game. Our defense sucked for long stretch’s and I wouldn’t argue that’s why we lost BUT the fact remains our offense also looked like cold poop after halftime….really bad….. other than one drive when they looked like world beaters.
Some can/will try to blame the defense and Todd exclusively, and talk about nothing else, but the offense repeatedly had drives that started with losses or minimal gain on 1st downs, unnecessary sacks, punts, turnovers etc etc . I still have more confidence in the offense than the D but let’s not ignore everything else because our defense has immensely underperformed.

This team has lost all credibility as far as I’m concerned. They’re pretenders not contenders. They’ve embarrassed us 4 times out of 4 nationally televised games. This has been a very forgettable season.
Too many disappointments to list.

Gonegator Buc is right, the offense was poor at best. The O-Line was overpowered and Barton had the yips. It led to Baker getting sacked 4 times, but it was much worse than that with quarterback pressures. We got behind and did not run the ball. Nothing was easy in this game. Next Sunday we need to be aggressive and hit the Panthers in the mouth right off the bat. Set the tone and run the ball. Nothing about this game should be taken for granted. We are what our record says we are. Inconsistent and mediocre.

The Cowboys game was a total team failure. I love the Bucs but that was pathetic.

That’ll fix those fundamentals right up, coach!

Sounds like on Thursday the Bucs will have a tougher practice. I guess it may not include Jordan quite yet though. Hope his rehab has better results.

But I m sure he has ruled out correct and smart decisions in game/clock management. They will be out in IR for all the season again.
Merry Xmas to everyone from the one Bucs fan in Greece lol
Go Bucs

Agree, the offense was below average much of the Dalls game. Likewise give the Dallas D credit they came to play and play they did!! The offense, while saving this team on many occasions, also rarely plays a full 60 minutes of good football.Thhat may be just the youth on this team and no Chris Goodwin. The Dallas game ,Shep and McMillian cost the team dearly with drops on big plays. Mayfield at times gets in consistent and holds the ball to long and or just makes poor decisions.Well eveybody is human right.
To me it seems the offensive line is the most consistent part of the team. However, think we all agree with a better D this team would be special. However, it is at the bottom on far to many occasions.
