Falcons Limp To 7-7 Record

If you like lots of punts, blocked punts and poor quarterback play, last night’s Raiders-Falcons game was your Super Bowl.
Joe was locked on every snap because the Faclons entered the game 1 1/2 games behind Tampa Bay (8-6) in the standings. Now, the Falcons (7-7) are just one game back after beating the Raiders 15-9.
Kirk Cousins dazzled en route to 93 yards passing for Atlanta and an interception, and he showcased his mobility on an extra day’s rest. Man, it was ugly.
The two-win Raiders were bad in all phases of the game, truly, and even let the impotent Atlanta pass rush rack up four sacks. Dismal Desmond Ridder had some flashes, but that was about it for the Raiders home crowd to cheer about.
So Atlanta now has games remaining against the Giants at home, the Commanders on the road and their season finale at home against the Panthers.
Joe would love to see the Bucs clinch early and enter Week 18 with a meanlingless home game against the slimy Saints. That’s unlikely, however, especially if the Bucs are still battling for the No. 3 playoff season in the NFC, which they hold right now.

That Raiders team is truly stinky. I stayed up, hoping for a Raiders miracle. Ugh.
I don’t recall the Raiders looking that terrible against the Bucs.
I suspect they will completely clean house in Vegas. There is almost nothing there to build on.

Someone needs to put together clips of the referee assistance the Falcons have gotten once again after last nights terrible showing (with the roughing the passer call on the Raiders in the last three minutes, including the two terrible non-calls against the Bucs. Also investigate, Saquon Barkley dropping a sure TD pass. Those are just the one’s I saw, this should not even be a race for first.

The giants will tank on purpose for draft status – much like it looked like the raiders did last night. Carolina seems to want to stay in the fight. We need to win out.

So they pass 93 yards on Raiders and 509 on the Bucs…. This is just sickening to think about all the opportunity lost on early season games.

The more the Cousins led Falcons play the worst Coach Bowles defense looks.
I mean Cousind is garbage and in the 2 games against us was like the MVP of the league. It is inexcusable.
We cant afford to wait for an Atlanta loss, we have to be serious in all of the games and get the wins. Defense must play just above average and we should be ok. Just dont overlook the opponents no matter how bad they are and be aggressive. If we decide we are good enough and play conservative and passive at Defense we will invite trouble.

15-9* was the final score. I wanted to stay up and watch that but the falcons were clearly dominating the raiders. Wasn’t worth getting shut eye late for.

Expect the Falcons to beat the Giants ….all will come down to Commanders which they should lose….that loss would give us a buffer in case we stumble…

Hard to believe that Cousins could filet the Bucs not just once but twice. If ATL somehow makes the playoffs and wins the division, it will be shameful. Can’t believe what ATL is paying that guy.

The ATL should beat the G-Men but there is a good chance they lose to Washington and the Panthers could give them a game of it as well. For Tampa, well, New Orleans and Carolina will not just roll over for the Bucs and Bowles has a very poor prime-time record (0-3 so far this year, though it could have been easily 2-1) so the Bucs better bring their A-game Sunday night and play each game as if it is a playoff……. The Bucs cannot afford to have a letdown down the stretch this year like they did last year when they let the Saints boat race them at RJS week 17 last year. I have confidence in Coen and while the D looked good in the second half Sunday, it is a lot harder to trust Todd Bowles as his D did make Cousins look like an MVP and Bryce Young to look like a decent QB.. Hopefully they turned the corner… Lets go Bucs, win during prime time for a change. Boat race the Cowboys!

Falcons will lose to the Commanders and might even lose to the Panthers. It’s embarrassing this team got swept by the Falcons. I agree with some of the other comments.

Kirk vs everyone else: 227 yards 10 TD’s 15 INT’s
We even had a player get juked out by handicapped Kirk for a key first down late in the second game
That in itself is the indictment against Bowles if it comes down to having him or Coen next year. It would be such a old Bucs move. They better make the smart move and keep the young offensive mind that will bring stability to the offense compared to the old DC that might retire in 2-3 years

The falcons are awful in general. Bucs are a way better team when they show up but letting cousins look like Joe montana hurt bad. Needed to split with them. That’s on bowles and the defense.

Need to win against Cowboys for certain,, we win out and we are in,,, (side note) just for our interest we should probably keep an eye on Wash~ Eagles this weekend , if Eagles could win then it may give us another avenue to get in playoffs should we mess up once(remember Falcons/Wash play next the fowing week),,, of course the simple answer is don’t mess up

Cousins from a physical standpoint is running out of gas the more games he plays…..the Bucs beat these late season Falcons by minimum 2 touchdowns

Looked like the plan was to get up early, lean on the run game, defense, special teams and get out with a win and healthy. Took the ball out of Cousins hands for now without giving it to Penix.
Falcons have another in season scrimmage against the Giants while the Bucs have to take on the Cowboys with a Defense that is playing like a pack of crazed dogs.
If the NFCS is at 8-7 with 2 games to play things are going to get tight. Mayfield is great when he can play loose but when things come down to finality
as in the Divisional Game vs Detroit it could once again get messy.
As Orlovsky pointed out during the broadcast the Falcons are not using Cousins from under center. That is Kirk’s wheelhouse and he is one of the best when playing from there. With Atlanta advertising a Run Heavy offense when they get him out of Shotgun or Pistol look out. He’s going to be fine.
I wouldn’t put much stock in “limping’ because assuming vulnerability usually does not work out well for the attacking party.
Bucs control their own destiny and maybe they can extend their win streak to 7 to end the season. Based on similar opponents within a few weeks time the Cowboys looked just as good against the 3 win Panthers with a Back Up behind Center. Next 3 games for either team are not going to be easy as they look even against teams that are looking at a high draft pick.

Game was unwatchable. Raiders need to start over basically except for Max Crosby. Falcons only have 1 likely loss left @ Commanders. Hard to tell who’s worse, Giants or Raiders.

The Raiders win that game if the refs don’t call the worst “roughing the passer” call I’ve ever seen. The Fowlclowns are despicable. Letting them beat us twice, letting Cousins pass for almost 900 yards in 2 games, should have been enough to get everyone in charge of the defense and game management fired.
What a disgrace. What an embarrassing disgrace.

The Falcons and their head coach are a joke that’s not funny. The fact that we lost to them twice is so shameful it boggles the mind. But, hey — maybe Coach has learned that the guys he’s got playing defense now know how to play man coverage after all. If he stays with calls that let his athletes be athletes instead of trying to make them brain surgeons, we have a great chance.

As long as the Bucs don’t play soft zone vs the Cowboys and use maximum pressure vs Cooper Rush, I clearly expect the Bucs to win but nothing is a given.
The Bucs cannot do what they did earlier and gloat over a win. They beat Detroit in Detroit and the following week at home sucked vs Denver.
They beat the Saints in New Orleans and the following week the Ravens lit up our defense.
The Cowboys give up a lot of points, almost 28 per game to be exact which is only better than one team in the NFL, the Panthers. The Bucs should put this game on the offense and go on attack. Yes we should run the ball but take shots like they’ve done the past few games. McMillan has single coverage and can get open vertically.
Cowboys offense is a little worse than average scoring about 21 a game. The Bucs defense statistically is bad as far as giving up points but has been playing better since they’ve been using less soft zone the pass few games.
If I was Bowles this is not a game to play conservatively, its Prime Time, let the defense play pressure ball and make Dallas punt. No more letting teams get easy over the middle completions and besides CD Lamb the Cowboys have no offensive weapons to be concerned with.

Fire the entire Bucs defense because they lost to the Falcons, twice?
The Falcons were a top notch team when they played the Bucs. At that point, the Falcons had lost by one score each to current division leaders KC and Pittsburgh, and they had beaten current division leaders Philadelphia and Tampa. The team they were then is one of only two teams to be the Eagles so far this year. And, oh yes, the Bucs are that other Eagles beating team.
Tampa started out with a grueling schedule. So did the Falcons. They both won and lost games against top notch teams. And, the injuries have piled up. The good news is that Bowles is a leader whose “next-up” team is still hanging together with a lead in their division and a real shot at extending their streak of division championships.
Another year, another season with Bowles Bucs thumbing their nose at the preseason power rankings disrespect and putting up another division championship banner. So, fire Bowles and the entire defense. Phhh. Not!
