Bucs Stay In Prime Time Sunday

A lot of NFL fans thought surely the Bucs-Cowboys game in Week 16, next Sunday, Dec. 22, would be flexed out of its scheduled time slot of an 8:20 p.m. kickoff. This was simply silly non-logic.
The Cowboys stink, so the thought process goes, and NBC wants a good game.
Ha! That’s not how TV Networks operate. Network suits, often not even football fans or sports fans, are only worried about one thing: eyeballs.
And that leads Joe to America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys pull in eyeballs, no matter their record. Throw in the reality that NBC, which is set to broadcast the game, loves NFC East teams.
They literally cannot get enough of the NFC East. Why? Eyeballs.
So the NFL today put the nonsense rumors to bed. The Bucs will face the Cowboys in Arlington, Tex. next Sunday at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.
No, NBC and the NFL had no intention of flexing out the Bucs-Cowboys game.

I thought the game would get moved because of the Cowboys sucking so hard – but then I finally looked at the NFL slate, and they are spread very thin as they pad out games over Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday – but also because the following week they’re on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday. Also the only game worth moving, Eagles @ Redskins, I think Fox has the right to reject moving a game, right – like once or twice a year or something?
Anywho, hope the Bucs can keep it going and not give back a win. I’d generally talk about how bad the Bucs history is in Dallas, but last time they played there they won – and that was with Bowles, so hopefully they can do it again.

@Rod their defense lost Overshown and Diggs. Even with those two they were 29th against the run and 22nd against the pass. Their scoring defense is 30th. If the Bucs that played against the Chargers show up it could be a 50 burger!

The BIG Question …
Do Dallas, Carolina, and New Orleans want to lose for draft position?
It’s a big question because Dallas is 6-8 and NO is 5-9. If Dallas loses, the Saints have to lose. Carolina is in a 5-way tie. They absolutely need to lose out.
The last three games could be a walk in the park.

I’m one of those fans that was hoping the game would be flexed to an earlier window. At my age I find it difficult to watch three games in one day whilst consuming beer – all day.

SlyPirate, I’d be careful thinking that way. There’s no game in the NFL that’s a walk in the park, and Dallas’ defense is pretty damn good. I’m not afraid of their offense but it may be harder than you think to put up a lot of points next week. I hope I’m wrong.

Can’t let it become a trap game and instead should view it as a statement game. Last time we were on prime time it looked like the Ravens basically ended our season. But the phoenix has risen and we’re back to looking like contenders. Dallas has been scrappy after losing Dak, but I think the Bucs win big and put the league on notice.

Dallas can’t stop this offense. Take away Parsons and Lamb, the Boys are toast.
Off topic but thought I would share… a buddy was at the game in LA yesterday. 3rd quarter he sends me a screen shot of his bet slip… same game parlay won $20,000. Quite a day for him. For those curious… he laid $200 (more than I ever would place on a same game) and it was many legs.

I don’t want to hear the garbage about primetime games, next 3 games are against inferior opponents. It’s time to see this team truly take a step forward and win the games they are supposed to.

Anyone that wants a “feel good moment” needs to watch highlights from the 2022 season opener against the Sowgirls.
The best play was Brady hitting Julio Jones with a 50 yard bomb. Julio made a sick catch but that wasn’t the best part. The best part of that play was Lenny knocking Michelle Parsons airborn and on her ass with a shoulder chip block. It was superb. Afterwards, Michelle took to social media whining about how that block should be illegal. What a little biotch.
Tristan Wirfs or someone that was there for that play needs to show the highlight to Rachaad and Bucky. Loved Lenny, he gave us everything he had until he had nothing left. Wish his career could have been longer.

Jethro Tull, I remember that play and it was a thing of beauty. It hurt Parson’s pride so much he no-showed on the horrible Skip Bayless show the next day.
And yeah, Playoff Lenny will always have a place in a Bucs fan’s heart.

The Dallas D looked impressive against the Kitties yesterday highlighted by 6 sacks. It looked like Dallas had really found themselves. Better not take them lightly.

No players wants to lose! organizations may but not players. Why would any player want to put out bad tape and look like they are quitting? Just look how Campbell is being viewed. Shouldn’t go in expecting the opponent to just lay down.

The Bucs still need to win out by staying focused. The Bucs need to bury their poor play on night games by trampling the Cowboys. The networks and national media love the Cowboys, and the Bucs still aren’t getting any respect. Bowles need to have his D ball out and stomp the Cowboys, showing the country that the Bucs are for real.

Expect roughing the passer calls against the Bucs like what Raiders got effed with with 2:40 to go. They would have won that game.
Bucs have to beat the Sowgirls and the refs Sunday night.

Only scary thing is look how the Bucs have performed against teams they SHOULD BEAT. Sure hope they are up to the challenge Sunday.
