Bucs Will Get Chances To Score
December 13th, 2024There is a line of thinking out there — Chip Kelly subscribes to this so not sure it’s the way to go — that the quicker an offense runs, the more chances there are to score.
More plays, more possessions, more chances.
Well, the Bucs ought to have plenty of possessions on Sunday. The Bucs can move the ball.
In fact, 33 of the Bucs’ possessions ended in goal-to-go situations. That’s second-best in the league, trailing only Detroit.
So why is Joe convinced the Bucs will get a lot of possessions on Sunday? Per Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis, 41.1 percent of the Chargers possessions fail to gain a first down, ahead of only the Jaguars (41.8 percent).
And with Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert beat up, maybe Los Angeles struggles more than usual to move the chains?

Justin Herbert is incredibly banged up and without good weapons. If the Bucs can pressure him into leaving the pocket they should have a good chance to win.

Bring the house. Go man to man.

Bring the house – go man.
So Todd will likely do the opposite – drop LBs into coverage and play soft zone.

Anyone notice how well the 49ers DBs played Cupp /Puka last night?? We could face the Rams and that’s the way to play them ,,, Right on them at the LOS, didn’t let them get off the line!!! The bills played a soft zone and got torched ,,,,, So I ask you ,,, would Bowles 10 yards off those recievers work??

The Bucs need a clean game with Baker playing smarter.Like Joe says play like a winner instead of a hero. Get rid of the football before taking a sack. Live to play another down.
Get McMillan the ball early to build his confidence. The Bucs need his improved performance to change the game.
Herbert can be the game changer so the Bucs need to put him on the ground.

Herbert has a tendency to stand in too long…
If we only had a pass rush.. or a secondary that actually covers..
December 13th, 2024 at 1:29 pm
Everyone is crowning the chargers defense but when I looked at their schedule when they have only played 2 good offenses and had 30 put on them by both, other than that they have feasted alota under .500 teams
December 13th, 2024 at 2:20 pm
But then comes Todd Bowles defense, the one that makes every QB look like a sure bet HOF’er

Time to prove your worth Coach Bowles. People say you’re an exceptional coach.
Sunday would be a good time to show it.

I haven’t hear the name Yaya Diaby in a month or so. Did he retire? He was all the rage for awhile.
December 13th, 2024 at 2:42 pm
Bowles his way too many flaws to count but he does drive the ship well without a whole lot of funny business! Now does he need a DC , yes, but you don’t hear our guys popping off on social media and such,,, it seems like Bucs players like being here and playing for him so I give him credit there
December 13th, 2024 at 3:04 pm
So you’re saying if we score on every possession we have a chance?
December 13th, 2024 at 3:54 pm
Don’t count on Herbert’s injury. I would put that right out of my mind. That sounds a lot like what you say when we face backups or rookies and how many of those times worked in our favor?
December 13th, 2024 at 4:44 pm
Just thinking logical here and based off what we’ve seen so far.
I have no faith Bowles can slow down the Chargers. The last 3 games Bucs won as they should. They played the worst 3 teams in the league.
The Chargers have a stout defense and can run the ball. Bucs have only 1 healthy and competent LB in LVD. Our pass defense is basically swiss cheese.
Bowles play calling and scheme will struggle to get the defense off the field.

The good news is he’s not very mobile to begin with unlike a lot of QBs we’ve played earlier in the year. At least if he escapes the pocket Kancey and company might catch him 🤞🏼🤣
December 13th, 2024 at 8:55 pm
Go man…lol
Herbert banged up… he could be using a walker and escape the Bucs edge rushers
It will either be close or a blow out. Either way Bucs come home at .500.

Blow Out!
Chargers Will go down in flames. Plus, No QB, no competition, end of story. Bucs dance out of there and you hear “And STILL #1 in the Division” , Your Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
Yeah, you geniuses with the “bucs don’t have a chance” comments, SHOULD lay your money down right beside your pathetic reflection in the mirror. You know, that feeble, frail woman that looks right back at you that Is Your reflection…..and Don’t forget to put your lip stick on while you’re at it Nancy!
GO BUCS!

Joe….Those stats are not based on playing the current version of Bucs defense, that has given up game losing drives multiple times this year.
The Bucs D that stopped Detroit 2 times late, has been gone since that week 2 game.
It comes down to winning based on streaky Baker being hot or good enough to win, but when Baker is not on his game, losses happen.
The Defense simply cannot be trusted based on the weekly evidence in 2024
December 14th, 2024 at 1:29 am
Lots of wisdom up there. The data indicate some deficiencies in Coach’s defense that have made many QBs look like pro bowlers against us but then they go play an average defense and become vomitous.
Puzzling .
December 14th, 2024 at 9:07 am
Careful. Sparks D is stout.
December 14th, 2024 at 11:03 am
The charger defense is good enough to have two more sacks than our team as a whole and they have 5 to 6 more interceptions but we all know how our defensive backs have been dealing with injuries this year our linebackers have been dealing with injuries this year and yet we can still hang with the top defenses in the league. While boasting literally one of the top offenses top five all year. Betting against defenses getting into the backfield disrupting the quarterback I’m going to put my money on Mayfield over Herbert especially with a bum leg. This game is no give me for the buccaneers but it’s no guarantee loss either let’s f****** go

Some people love to exaggerate Todd’s flaws as a defesive coordinator. They feed off each others narratives. He is still a very good good coach. Just saying.
Go Bucs!

So, more I get on here, the more posts I don’t see from educated, devoted Bucs fans. Getting bor—ing, Joe. Sigh…..
