Rachaad White Wins “Angry Runs” Of The Week

December 10th, 2024

Honors Rachaad White.

Yeah, Joe knows “Good Morning Football,” seen weekday mornings on NFL Network, hasn’t been the same since Kay Adams left. And it also took a couple of steps back when it moved to Los Angeles this past summer.

Still, the show has closet Bucs fan Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt. Those two alone make it light years better than any morning show on standard cable/satellite/streaming.

For years, Brandt has had a weekly in-season segment called “Angry Runs” where he highlights the best physical runs each week.

Two years ago, Bucs running back Rachaad White won the coveted “Angry Runs” scepter.

To this day, if you ask Joe for one play that springs to mind that White made, it was when the Bucs played the Seahawks in Munich. White stiff-armed Seahawks corner Quandre Diggs into the Hofbrauhaus on a run to the left side.

Joe was very fortunate to be able to witness that feat with his own eyes from the opposite side of the field. Bouncers throughout the Tampa Bay area have since perfected that move.

Well, White did the same thing  Sunday to Raiders corner Decamerion Richardson.

White ran left and stiff-armed Richardson onto the front parking lot like a bouncer at one of those clothing-optional establishments that dot Dale Mabry Highway. It was beautiful.

Out the door you go!

And White’s move did not go unnoticed to Brandt who deemed White this week’s winner of “Angry Runs.”

And with the honor, goes the scepter, which White has already posed with.

Nice job, Rachaad. It wasn’t quite as glorious as making a defender eat turf on foreign soil making him wish he never had a passport, but it was still very cool.

RW1 does produce a scepter runs every few years! That was a classic. He’s having a better year running. I believe it has to do with the improved O-line and competition from BI7. The Bucs need a lot more from him on Sunday! This game is no cake walk.

the stiff arm is a premiere weapon in his game…he could even use it a little more…

his first memorable stiff arm came in the munich game a couple years back vs seattle…

keep it in the repertoire rachaad……keep it in the repertoire

I’m not surprised White is looking better than last season, even with splitting carries with Bucky. JBF has been ridiculously hard on White, and as many of the fans defended White, JBF dug-in and it got worse, like an article a day about how bad White was.

Context is important in these discussions. Last season was White’s first full season as RB1. We’ve talked like this guy has been here for years and has not done anything at RB, yet none of that is true. As a rookie he split carries with Fournette, who himself didn’t do much at RB that season. And last year there was a lot of newness, new pieces to the Oline, new QB, new offensive coordinator. Unless you’re evaluating EVERY snap, to include closing out games, it’s inclusive. I feel like I’ve seen bad running backs on the Bucs, and from the eye test, I don’t think White was bad. He wasn’t special, but I think he could start on another football team. This year, line is a bit more seasoned, I think our rookie Center, despite recent struggles is better than Hainsey.

Now, what I have conceded is that Bucky is special, and he is the future moving forward. But I do believe, as we hit our championship run window, these next 2 years (not counting this season), we need all 3 RBs on this roster if we plan to make a deep run.

White just may be starting to redeem himself with Joe…..

TBBF has been a fan of Rachaad from the beginning…..

Zoocomics “these next 2 years (not counting this season)”. Shame on you Zoocomics. Shame on you!

Was a nasty stiff arm. Good job by RW running hard all day!

Hope he can continue to stay healthy.

Sad that it bothers some people here that RW got some props, but not a surprise. 🙁

Running in space and receiving has never been the knock on him, it’s his in traffic running and vision, and Mr. Irving is the reason for White’s improvement. He’s shown Rachaad to “run to the green” not to the predesignated spot where the hole is supposed with 10 big guys jammed up together and that he’s allowed to make the 1st guy in front of him miss. Rachaad has always played like he was scared of contact but Irving has shown him how to run with courage and without fear. The two of them make a great tandem. We actually have a very good trio of rbs that compliment each other well. Now if Tucker was just a little stronger for a well built as he is he might be able to take on a blitzing db

I’m not really a fan of the “scepter” segment. I guess it’s the yelling. Grumpy old man sh!t on my part I guess. But that was a vicious stiff arm. Props Mr. White.

Give Joe a Scepter for such an inspired humorous analogy!

Thanks Joe,, someone had to say it and I agree,,, we all prefer Kay

I could care less about these boob tube shows and Kay Adams. I have always supported White cos of his versatility. He can catch the ball, and block. Glad to see Irving starting to show sure hands. Tucker? Don’t know yet. Plus, our RBs are cleaning up on fumble-itis. I just want to see more creativity out of Coen. Bucs won’t be in the Stupid Bowl this year, but 10-7 works for me. Go Bucs!!

  16. BAKERSBucs says Says:

How bout baker this year with the stiff arm to bosa in SF with completed 4th down pass that has to b on the top shelf

  17. Korey Says:

Love your take on it. Definitely getting the shirt when it comes out. I already have the A-train and the “getcha weight up!” Baker shirt…. that week one stiff arm vs Vikings last year was cementing. Gotta go check that London game highlight now!
