Bucky Irving Questionable For Raiders Game

December 6th, 2024

Injury report.

[UPDATE: 4:09 p.m.] Not good news from the final injury report for the Raiders-Bucs game on Sunday at The Licht House.

One of the top stories in the game and breakout NFL running back star Bucky Irving was limited in practice today after not practicing Wednesday and Thursday. As a result, Irving is listed as questionable for Sunday with hip/back issues.

After Sunday’s game, Irving left the field with what appeared to be some sort of wrapping around his midsection. Someone asked Irving if he was alright and Irving shot back, “F’ no!”

Linebacker K.J. Britt (ankle), safety Mike Edwards (hamstring), cornerback Troy Hill (foot) and outside linebacker Markees Watts (who?) (knee) have all been declared out for Sunday.

Also, cornerback Josh Hayes (hamstring), receiver Trey Palmer (hip), inside linebacker J.J. Russell (hamstring), nickel corner Tykee Smith (knee) and outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (ankle) each join Irving as questionable.

If Russell cannot go along with Britt, may Brock Bowers have mercy on us all.

[UPDATE: 4:09 p.m.] Troy Hill was on the injury report as “out” for Sunday. Since the report was released, maybe a handful of minutes, the Bucs announced he was placed on injured reserve.

So at best, Hill may play in the final regular season game at home against the slimy Saints. Guys placed on injured reserve are required to sit out a minimum of four games.

  1. David Pear Says:

What’s the status of Todd Bowles for Sunday’s game?

  2. PSL Bob Says:

Not looking too good! Irving is tough though. I suspect he’ll play.

  3. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Play Tucker

  4. Knucknbuc Says:

Why would he do to press conferences this week if he wasn’t going to play Joe? Not very usual the team would have him out there if he wasn’t more likely then not gonna play

  5. Hearty Dikerson Says:

This is the problem with Bucky. He’s a sub-200lb back, giving him 16 touches a a game is going to take its toll quickly.

Glad we’re getting our money’s worth on guys like Troy Hill and Mike Edwards. They sign a contract and then immediately become available to play.

  6. Pewter Power Says:

I like the posts so far because no one is panicking. Even with these players missing if Bucs can’t beat this two win team the Glazers are having a serious conversation about the head coach and GM. This isn’t a Super Bowl roster but there’s still way more talent than the Raiders

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

No more returns for Bucky….correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t he injured on a worthless return with virtually no time left on the clock …

  8. View from 132 Says:

No reason they can’t beat the Raiders with White and Tucker. Give the rookie a week off.

  9. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Yes Tampa you are corrrect. The misuse of this guy Bucky Irving will go down in history as one great big wtf over.
Ie: let’s start junk and not start super freekin players in the making at crunch time.
I’m beginning to really hate the decision makers on this team.
Bozo has got nothing on them. Do they spend all week at the country club trying to figure out what to order for lunch?

  10. Jeff Says:

Yucs should rest him. They won’t.

  11. Ha-Ha-Ha Says:

Anyone remember how fast the wheels came off Cadillac?

  12. heyjude Says:

Feel bad for Bucky. Watching that video, he definitely wasn’t doing well. Let him rest. What about Tucker?

  13. GoneGator Says:

If our O-line plays as well as they have been, we’ll be able to run it with RW and/or Tucker.
I’ll be looking for our pass game to get back on track to go with the run game 👍🏼

  14. StormyInFl Says:

So what was the damn point with Troy Hill? You’re telling me there wasn’t someone not injured stashed on a practice squad somewhere?

    What a waste of time.

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Bowles also got Godwin injured unnecessarily

  16. Bojim Says:

Would rather see Bucky but I think Tucker will make us happy.

  17. FortMyersDave Says:

Dave Pear, the status of Todd Bowles for Sunday: still predictable and stubborn as ever and unwilling to make adjustments to his soft zone “prevent” defense. I will guess his status with Team Glazer is “day to day”/”game to game”. Win and his job is safe, lose and he goes the way of Lovie who in his last season at the helm went from 6-6 to 6-10. Must win game on Sunday for Todd.

  18. FortMyersDave Says:

TampaBayBucFan, yeah, no one is talking about the Godwin injury which should have never happened because Liam Coen managed to keep the offense functional and scoring points while Godwin and Evans were out. If the Bucs O suddenly started scoring like the 2024 Giants after Godwin was out, Bowles would be getting as much blowback about that as he has been for his pathetic defense which can not stop anyone in a 2 minute drill including Bryce Young. Coen’s ability to run a productive offense is covering up for a lot of Todd Bowles’ shortcomings.

  19. Jerseybuc Says:

Another bowels blunder. Put your star RB returning punts.
Can’t wait till radio is gone

  20. dmatt Says:

Let’s be strategic n smart Todd. We do not really need Bucky against the struggling Raiders. Play Sean n Richaad n rest Bucky up for much needed back to back away games against Chargers n Cowboys respectively. We really need him against Jim Harbaugh n the much ready Chargers. If Bowles wants his job he’ll take the fans advice.

  21. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Coen needs to be super aggressive then. Any 4th & short on the far side of the 40 needs to be converted to a 1st down, no punting because defense will truly be trash. Offense has to keep scoring every drive

  22. MadMax Says:

Just sit him todd, dont be stupider than you’ve already been….and when he’s back, no more punt returns…..i swear, why are us fans smarter and can make better decisions than a multmill a year hc…its stupid!

  23. Rover Says:

What Brock Bowers is about to do is unGodly. Only Tykee Smith can help slow down this historic day. Maybe he guarded him at practice in Georgia. Maybe. Go Bucs!

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Just curious, but how is Bowles responsible for offensive injuries?

  25. MadMax Says:

cant fix stupid, thats how….take your blinders off

  26. Bucs 95 Says:

I want me some bucky tho 😏

  27. adam from ny Says:

let bucky suit up as back #3 sunday…

go with rashaad and the fresh legs of tuck

  28. J Dub Says:

Bowles could be responsible for offensive injuries if he made the call to put Bucky in for a KO return with 5 seconds left in the half. That’s when he got hurt.

  29. ModHairKen Says:

After what’s happened to the Lions Defense, the number of injuries they’ve had, I think making injury excuses is BS.

Good teams find a way to win.

    Like Tampa last week.

For backup players, injuries are opportunities.

    Tucker will shine this week.

  30. RagingBrisket Says:

    Wait, who is Troy Hill?

  31. Proudbucsfan Says:

I really don’t understand why they don’t give Tucker more carries the man runs a 4.3 -40, he is a home run hitter and he’s built like a brick sh-t house. He’s the back you give the ball to 30 times. We will see, hopefully it’s with the Bucs, if not he will shine with another team.

  32. Kenton Smith Says:

Those hip pointers hurt! Depends on how much they can numb that pain. On the other hand if (I wish) they get Tucker 30 touches tomorrow he’ll go for over 200 yards. And let’s let Evans haul in a 60 yard go route while we’re at it.

  33. Bee Says:

They should run Tucker and rest Bucky. And Bowles loves dumb personnel decisions. Like when he had AW playing nickel. Hopefully he’ll stop using the RBs on Special Teams. Use one of the WRs

  34. Mike Johnson Says:

We straight up need Bucky to win this game. The Raiders will score. We need an Ace in the hole. And we all know who that is.

  35. Ed McSherry Says:

Anyone think that las years success would have happened without Rachaad?

This year’s “race to the division win” is mirroring last year and, with one big difference: no O-line last year, but there definitely is this year.

Rachaad with the lion’s share of the carries against the Raiders?

    Can’t wait!

  36. GoneGator Says:

    @Ed McSherry

I agree…..careful though, they (you know who I mean) get pretty riled up sometimes if you try to point our RW’s value and talents. God forbid you don’t think Bucky is the second coming of Walter Payton or Barry Sanders after 1/2 of a season.

I think it’ll all even out by the end of the season…. Bucky and RW will both have good “numbers” and will play a big part in our success. We need them BOTH.

  37. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Yup, ole Bowel Movement got Bucky hurt on a return. Why on earth would you have your best back returning kicks? Stupid is as stupid does.

  38. Ed McSherry Says:

    GoneGator: “We need them BOTH.”

Yes! but “a certain Joe” would like to see it a pi$$ing-contest, around here.

  39. GoneGator Says:

    Yes @Ed McSherry

When you’ve been preaching something for years, and convincing others you’re right , it’d be hard to admit you may have been wrong.
