So Joe’s pal and multimedia icon Rock Riley often patrols One Buc Palace for the Tampa Free Press and in a recent report, Joe heard Riley reference how defensive players have been telling him they are tired of being blasted and doubted.
Joe stood up and applauded.
Good. Get angry. Let the oustide noise motivate you, even though Todd Bowles says to disregard it.
Joe thought some of that anger Riley heard came through in Antoine Winfield Jr.’s pregame speech captured by the Buccaneers’ official YouTube channel. It was a mic’d up segment from Sunday’s Giants-Bucs game.
“Let’s send a message all motherfu**’n week. Let’s go out here and dominate,” Winfield barked.
Winfield later ramped up the volume.
“… …We work too fu**’n hard and we’re too fu**’n good,” he screamed full throttle. “Let’s go out here and fu**’n dominate.”
Yeah, it’s just pregame woofing. That doesn’t win games. But Winfield’s overall message and tone felt pleading and spot on.
Everything is on the line and the Bucs are a devoted and talented group. There is no more tomorrow, and the Bucs must go hammer the five remaining poor teams on their schedule.
Nothing less is acceptable.

Bad defensive schemes, lack of talent on the D. Hope they can dial it up . Also, Todd’s defense never ever accounts for TE’s . They all seem to run unopposed routes and our LBs and Secondary are caught flat footed.

500 yard games isn’t just bad it’s embarrassing. I do however give them huge credit for not throwing in the towel and trying to regroup to finish strong.

Sorry that’s not what the defensive ranking says. If not for Coen we wouldn’t have been competitive. I wouldn’t have thought this team wouldn’t have 5 wins at this point when the schedule was released this offseason. Great playing weak teams the rest of the year so suddenly you’re mad

Pep talks and bragging don’t win football games, talent does. Bucs just don’t have enough of it on defensive side. Winfield and Whitehead have played poorly this season. Linebackers other than LVD have been nonexistent. Kancey has really come on strong with Vea but Bucs really could use EDGE help. A strong defensive line makes the back half of the defense look a lot better. Would give up 2 2025 high picks to get a premier EDGE next year like Myles Garrett. Browns will deal. Garrett is a great player who has played on a lot of lousy Browns teams.

I’m glad we have players that never give up. Keep fighting and let’s see what happens. Before all the injuries we beat both Detroit and Philadelphia. Those are two really good teams so why not win out and go into the playoffs feeling we can win it all. Go Bucs!!!!

5 game season left for the Bucs.
Lions should win their division and Packers and Vikings should both win over 10 games and make playoffs leaving one Wild Card and the NFC South a toss up between Bucs and Falcons.
Realistically they are more likely to be in the playoffs if they can take the South from the Falcons.
Falcons do have to play at Vikings, Raiders and Commanders. If they lose 2 of those 3 and upset the Chargers in Atlanta Sunday, then they only have to beat win their home games vs Panthers and Giants to finish 10-6 and most likely win the South.
Therefore to win the division the Bucs really need to beat their remaining teams to win the South. Going 4-1 gets the Bucs to 10 wins and probably a tie with Atlanta for the division. At that point the Wild Card comes in if the Niners get to 10 wins they are the last Wild Card. If the Bucs get to 10 wins and the Commanders also get to 10, the Bucs get in as the final Wild Card.
It all conjecture but the Bucs can control their own destiny by winning 11 games. Usually 10 gets you a Wild Card but not this year as the Vikings and Packers probably going to be ahead of the Bucs for a Wild Card while Lions pull away and win the Central. The Eagles look to be clear winners in the East and West doesn’t have any teams now with more than 6 wins.
Bucs control their destiny and the future of Todd Bowles.

If they’d stop stinking it up on the field we’d have more reasons to be optimistic but we’ve all seen the product they’ve left on the field. It even reared it’s ugly head by giving the Gmen an easy td. It seems even Winfield has taken a step back after his big pay day. The offense is the only thing that is good with this team

Sorry psl bob Stats say this defense is below average. If you want optimism at least we’re playing below average teams. The only reason some are talking about running the table and playoffs is Liam Coen, downside is he’s going to save Bowles’s job. Be optimistic but be real about it

There is no reason we should not win out!! Then let the chips fall. This has been a crazy season but who knows. After watching the pep in the Defense’s step last Sunday live, we might be in for a Suprise the rest of the season. Go Bucs!!

I’m sure De Vito would agree !! The Bucs Defense is really good !! He could barely drag his beat up self back on to the field !! Let’s hope the Bucs bring this same level of intensity to Charlotte this Sunday !! If so, the Panthers won’t stop the blowout !! Bryce, watch out for Vita and Calijah they’ve got you in their sights !!

So many “butt hurt” fans sitting on their azzes telling players and coaches not to suck. Do you really think they arent working hard or trying to play better. None of you would last a 1/2 day of walk through practice.
Weren’t you just posting a few days ago about rooting for the team, and Todd, cause he’s who we got right now…. You know, being a fan – hoping for wins?

Maybe they should post comments from JBF fans/critics as motivation – NOBODY else talks more smack about the team or the defense or Todd than you guys.

If you talk the walk, but don’t walk the talk it’s best to keep quiet. Some coach a number of years ago, said your record is who you are. Another said with dripping credulity, “Playoffs….you talking about playoffs?????” Both apply here. Let your play do the talking, Bucs. Most of us have been here for decades and are weary of the noise. We see your inconsistency.

Gone Gator – I know it’s all flowers and warm puppy dogs in your fantasy world. I hope you don’t take it too hard when Todd gets axed at the end of the year. Not everybody is a rah rah cockeyed optimist. You can still be a big fan and choose to criticise aspects of the team’s and coaches’ performance. Some of us have been watching since ’76. We know how to root for our team. Unwarranted criticism of fans who don’t meet your level of unbridled enthusiasm doesn’t give you any moral high ground. Give it a rest. Go Bucs!!!

I am laughing my asinine off as I read this.
AWJ has my total respect but if it takes him as team leader to get some of these dudes up for a game after looking like a JV squad for weeks. I got some serious questions for some of them as well as the defensive coaching staff.
Played this game for more than a few years and never really needed to be rah rah-ed up by any team mates. Motivation was always within myself and to destroy my opponent. The End.
