ESPN: Tristan Wirfs Has Sprained MCL

November 10th, 2024

Injured

The early word is Tristan Wirfs has a sprained MCL.

That’s the intel that BSPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler twittered in the third quarter of the 49ers-Bucs game.

Of course, as Fowler points out, this is preliminary. Further tests and an MRI have to be performed to confirm the severity.

Wirfs was hurt in the first half. He was prone on the ground on his back as trainers tended to him. At first he struggled to stand. He couldn’t walk off the field without help from two trainers.

Wirfs, with an arm draped around each trainer, heavily limped to the sidelines.

This hurts. He will be out for quite a while.

  2. BucsBeast Says:

    Minimum 5 weeks.

  3. BucsBeast Says:

The amount of no calls for the 9ers is mind boggling.

  4. Bobby Says:

And that’s our season! It’s going to be really difficult for Baker to continue doing well without a stud left tackle like Wirfs. If we see Wirfs back it will be if we make a playoff push. Unlikely without Wirfs for remainder of the regular season. The injury bug has just destroyed this season for the Bucs!! To think we were talking Super Bowl as maybe for this team. So sad, hope Im wrong! Go Bucs!!

the reason it didn’t tear is because big tristan has tree trunks for legs…

he is a living breathing tree trunk… 🙂

good to hear it’s not season ending and he’ll be okay…

but here we go again with SKOOLY DEE !

  12. Irish Laughter Says:

I know people will say that Baker is the face of the Bucs, but Tristan is right there with him. Great athlete and even a better human according to his teammates. Let’s hope it is not as serious as it appears and we see him again this season. Keeping it real in Ireland.

  13. firethecannons Says:

Not sure wwhy he was not wearing the knee braces that many of them wear

  14. Hodad Says:

Seasons over, save him for next year.

  15. Brandonbucc Says:

This team blows. We aren’t going anywhere. Give him as much rest as he needs.

  16. Bartow Buc Says:

Hopefully Wirfs will not be out 5 weeks , we need at least 6 wins out of the last seven games !!

    Go Bucs !!

  17. Zoocomics Says:

I’m still in disbelief that there was no one better than Skule out there… they had to double team Bosa for most of the game because this turd is just a large body and little else. Bucs can’t catch a break man.

  18. Woodenman Says:

Grade 1 sprain 1 to 3 weeks / Grade 2 sprain 4 to 6weeks / Grade 3 sprain 6 weeks or longer all you need to know.

  19. Sacker58 Says:

    @bobby says,
Dude you are either the biggest optimist or very slow if you think this team is going ANYWHERE except the cellar!
There’s no depth on defense and now the offense loses another critical player!
I say throw in the towel and don’t draft anyone not named Vea from the pac 10 or mountain west.

  20. Larrd Says:

Skule was improving when Goedeke came back.

Good time for a break. The schedule gets easier. Evans should be back. Irving is really good. Otton is better, too.

Too bad the defense sucks so bad.

This loss, and every other buccaneers loss is 100% on Bowles. No game plan in Denver. Could of beaten the falcons on a FG and run the clock out not once but TWICE. Could of beaten the ravens, but Bowles REFUSES to get rid of Britt, which has no business in football at all. Had KC beaten, but once again todd bowles defense. Its time for him to go. We don’t have another 20yrs to wait for a SB. Yes 20yrs is the buccaneers team history avg to reach NFC championship games.

  22. Fred McNeil Says:

In my experience that’s usually 6 weeks.
