Will Vita Vea and the Bucs return to Germany in 2025?

Bucs fans who enjoy traveling to road games have a coin flip of a chance they’ll need a passport in 2025.

This morning, NFL strongman Roger Goodell spoke from Munich on NFL Network where the NFL is doing its best to destroy decades of international relations between America and its NATO ally Germany by holding the Giants-Stinking Panthers game in Allianz Arena.

(This is not Joe’s idea of growing the NFL internationally. It’s more akin to terrorism.)

From Munich, Goodell told fetching Colleen Wolfe that the NFL hopes to play eight games on foreign soil in 2025.

Among potential sites, Goodell said, are Mexico City, London, Germany, Brazil, Spain and possibly Ireland. Last week The Athletic asked Goodell about rumors the NFL would play in Berlin and he responded, “Believe them.”

Now if Joe’s math is correct — always dicey — if the NFL plays eight games that means 16 teams or half the league will play internationally. It’s unlikely the NFL sends a second team to two international games, though the Jags often (voluntarily) play two games a season in London. If that continues, then that would be 15 teams on foreign soil in 2025.

So, yeah, it’s a coin flip that the Bucs will play an international game in 2025.

And, this is stuck in Joe’s craw — not craw, CRAW! — the Bucs last week opened a Bucs-themed bar in Munich called “Krewe Embassy,” which is part of a Munich-based Australian-themed sports bar called “Ned Kelly’s” located near Marienplatz, a three-minute walk from the famed Glockenspiel.

Very cool idea and Joe embraces it. But someone clearly didn’t think this through. In fact, it has Joe triggered.

The bar is sponsored by Killian’s Irish Red. In Munich! Munich is the beer capital of the world. Some of the greatest beers man has ever created are produced there. And you’re selling Killian’s?

The nerve! At least half the reason to go to Munich in the first place is to drink the locals’ beer.

The Bucs couldn’t swing a deal with Augustiner or Hacker-Pschorr or Hofbrauhaus or even Lowenbrauhaus (the latter is owned by NFL corporate partner Anhueser-Busch InBev)?

Joe didn’t list Paulaner because that is proof that just because a beer is brewed in Germany doesn’t mean it is good.

Killian’s at a Bucs bar. In Munich? Why? Do they not want people to walk in the door?

Anyway, the Krewe Embassy looks cool and is a great concept. And guess who was there on opening night? Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett!

Is this Krewe Embassy a tip that the Bucs will return to Germany next fall?
