“Fight” And “Playmaking” Has Todd Bowles Excited About The Schedule

November 6th, 2024

Todd Bowles served up an interesting word buffet on television this week to describe two layers of excitement for his team.

(Joe would use the word “salad,” but that seems to send people into hateful rants in the comments section, which overworks Joe’s delete button.)

Speaking to WFLA-TV sports chief Dan Lucas, via WFLA.com, Bowles noted there was no hint of a moral victory for taking the defending Super Bowl champs to overtime on Monday night in Kansas City.

Bowles said the Bucs expected to play winning football and if nothing else, the game reiterated that Tampa Bay has the horses to ride to victory.

“We know they’re talented. We feel like we have some talent. Even without some talent, we feel like we have some talent, Bowles said. “And for us, the fight, the determination, the playmaking ability that we still have and that still continue to have [without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin] is something to look forward to as we get going toward the second half of the season.”

Well, the Bucs are 4-5 and the second half of the season is here, starting with the 49ers (4-4) on Sunday at The Licht House.

No fan in his/her right mind can say the Bucs don’t have enough talent to beat the 49ers. Monday night is Exhibit A.

So, go make some plays and win the damn game.

Bucs might have talent but they do not have a Head Coach who knows how to manage the game or lean on the strength of his team to close out a game.

Bucs will undoubtedly lose a game or two against the perceived easy closing slate of games and finish with 7 or maybe 8 wins. which is Todd Blows ceiling as a coach.

  2. zzbuc Says:

There s not much talent no WR, without ME13 and CG14, there is no talent on inside LB, you have only one CB talented that is Zion, you have to Safetys that are talented and are playing like Sh*t, and you have one pass rusher with talent that Yaya…..
You have a good OL and a good front defense, also a good QB.

Conclusion: You have talent, but way less than everybody thinks, because of lack of depth, and if you add the safetys sh*t playing you are were you are….Not because you didn’t go for 2 against the Chiefs, is because there is no depth!!!!!

  3. JimBobBuc Says:

Talent but no coaching on defense side of ball. Bowles doesn’t hold his defensive players or coaches accountable.

TB is excited about play making… he needs to dial up some defensive plays on 3rd and long and on 4 th downs!!!! Get his defense off the field more often than not and the Bucs win several of these close games and make the blowouts look a lot more contested too! Just saying…

If the Bucs can beat the 49ers, Maybe we can run the table after the bye. Ok..Man, what is this stuff I am smoking?

  6. Stillabucsfan Says:

Opposing teams after the bye week have a whopping 20-43 record ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. Beating the 49rs on Sunday is critical to getting back on track after the bye week. 5-5, get m1k3 back, continue to run the ball effectively and let the porous defense feast on some 2-3 win opponents. 10-7 is not out of the picture, but will that get us a wildcard with Philly, Minnesota, and Green Bay pretty holding the 3 wildcard spots at the moment? Yep. Win the damn game!!

  8. Gipper Says:

I donโ€™t agree that there is enough defensive talent on Bucs. Tampa Bay can win by out scoring 49ers in a shootout. In fact, that is going to have be the standard for the rest of the season. Next year there will be a massive defensive overhaul regardless who is head coach.

  9. Defense Rules Says:

Todd Bowles … ‘Even without some talent, we feel like we have some talent’.

Say what? OK Joe, you wrote it. Now, please explain it.

  10. drdneastup Says:

Bowels defense is tailor made for Purdy to have a 500 yard game.

  11. Deadwood South Dakota Says:

500 coach no better no worse. We see every week and then we hear the excuses. Play better coach better.. zzzzzzzz.

Thank you for the word salad vs buffet laugh. Way too funny. Needed that tonight. It’s been a rough few days.

The Bucs definitely have a talented and young team. Fight and determination too. Hoping for a win this weekend and after the bye too. The Bucs can do this.

  13. David Says:

The schedule sets up nice. They should be able to go 6-2 and get 10 wins. Whether that is enough to overtake ATL remains to be seen.

  14. Pewter Power Says:

Damn no wonder the secondary gets confused and lost in coverage

  15. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

All the teams we play are excited and licking their chops anticipating playing our defense that Bowels has put together
