NFL: Bucs Playoff Probability Is 48 Percent

October 28th, 2024

The NFL might not have functioning goal line cameras, but its statistical software in good working order.

The good folks have run the numbers on schedules, records and data across the league. After yesterday’s games, the Bucs check in with a 48 percent chance of making the playoffs, per the NFL.

Rest assured, that number will skyrocket if the Bucs (4-4) find a way to beat the 49ers (4-4) at home in two weeks. Currently, San Francisco has a 56 percent likelihood of playing the postseason, per the NFL.

First, however, the Bucs must travel to Kansas City. But don’t worry, those NFL supercomputers surely have the Bucs taking a loss against the undefeated defending champs.

Playing in the Bucs’ favor is their super weak seven-game schedule following the 49ers game and a Week 11 bye.

As long as the coaching imposter pictured above continues to reinforce the definition of insanity by doing the same things with the same mistakes yielding the same horrible results infinitely repeated, we are witnessing a collapse of 2011 Raheemian proportions. Only worse. Perhaps the oddsmakers haven’t observed a Bucs defense in action. My grand nephew’s 11 year old nine man team could move the ball on the toodster.

What a disgrace. Give Todd a cowbell and send him out to pasture

  2. Thomas Edrington Says:

    That’s pretty optimistic

  3. A Bucs Fan Says:

The defense is going to sink the season.

  4. adam from ny Says:

    what if:

a disgruntled ex buccaneer sends a copy of his defensive playbook from say 2020 and on…to all the teams in the bucs division…and all the teams the bucs play this year…

    then what…

it’s not like coach is really switching things up that much…same base defense

  5. Dave Pear Says:

What if….the Bowling coach really just sucks?

  6. Lokog Says:

This team doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs they deserve to be picking busts with the top picks of the draft and baker mayfield is not a winner

  7. MadMax Says:

We have the players….just fix the coach…..replace him and bring in a new DC

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

10 wins may not get us in if we aren’t division champs. There are teams in the NFC North, East & West who are capable of 10 wins.

  9. Bucsfan Says:

Winfield swipe was a turnover and it is inexcusable that there are not wireless cams looking down the goal line on both orange pylons. That was a huge play and quite obvious that the ball had not broken the plane of the goal line. NFL needs to get serious about improving the incredibly poor quality of officiating.

  10. A Bucs Fan Says:

@Adam are you saying Devin White sent a copy of Bowles defense? That’s a hard take to digest. The problem is teams know KJ Britt can’t cover the middle of the field.

Also bucs run defense is soft this season because hall and JTS haven’t developed, LVD is aging, and KJ has ZERO lateral speed. I have no idea why the coaching staff won’t try JJ Russell or Antonio Grier in there. Even when David went down the bucs went Dime defense instead of playing either back up ILB. They can’t be worse than Britt.

  11. Buc4evr Says:

5 percent chance is more like it with this defense. The season is over as you will see after KC and San Fran.

  12. Tye Says:

with the defense being a direct reflection of their coach (incompetent), its a slim chance the offense can cover up all the inabilities of the defense…
Defense gives up what, like 24+ points a game…
Time to flush bowels and detox the Bucs of his pollution of ineptitude!

  13. Jerseybuc Says:

Deebo n kittle are going kill the middle of this weak a&& defense

  14. Bucsfan81 Says:

HAHA lets be more real it’s probably like 10 percent chance. Especially after we lose the next 2 games.

  15. Tucker Says:

This is the funniest article you have put out in a while joe thanks for the laugh.

  16. Mike Johnson Says:

PLAYOFFS..PLAYOFFS? LMAO. The only playoffs this lackluster non’defensive team is going to see is with us…on the couch watching the rest of the league.

  17. Tucker Says:

This defense is wet toilet paper can’t stop a stiff breeze playoffs that’s so funny 🤣🤣🤣

  18. Bartow Buc Says:

I believe we can do this ! Of course I am by nature, optimistic. Like many of you here I have been a Bucs fan since their inception in 1976. Saw the Bucs one game away from the Super Bowl in January, 1980. Watched them beat Jaws and the eagles in December 1979. After that, there was a long stretch of nothing coaches until Tony Dungy turned things around. That was a very exciting time for Tampa Bay !!

Like Todd Bowles, Tony Dungy preached execution and staying in your lane. Tony built an incredible defense. Perhaps Todd Bowles just needs to hammer out the little things like executing plays and being in the right place to put the Bucs back on top. All the signs are there. I believe !!

    Go Bucs !!!!

The Browns beat the Ravens this weekend so you never know what can happen in KC. I think we can beat the 49ers at home if the rest of the team is healthy going in.

What if the the Glazers got rid of Coach Bowles and a new coach is brought in and he has the ability of bringing in his own staff and let’s Coen go. There is that chance. No one would want that. And Coen is doing a a pretty good job with offense but it hasn’t been an entire season yet. Todd is not on the hot seat yet and things can turnaround very quickly. Go Bucs!

  20. Tbbucs3 Says:

The Bucs have to a better chance to beat the Chiefs than the 49ers….

The 49ers have been and will continue to be a terrible matchup for the Bucs.

  21. Dave Pear Says:

The Browns have a defense. The Bucs have a Bowleser.

  22. heyjude Says:

True, Tbbucs3. You never know. One of the problems in KC is the noise in their stadium. Players can hardly hear the communication when in that stadium. Everything is drowned out. KC has that advantage. And if Taylor is at the game, Travis always plays better too. Never know about the 49ers either.

  23. Badbucs Says:

Keep Bowles. Bring in a DC and some new staff. This scheme is over. NFL has it figured out. Tweaking won’t change the results. Is everything about Todd 50/50. Can’t make decisions himself. Does he have 2 wives. No wonder he has that fowl look on his face.

  24. BucsfanClarke Says:

Why won’t we trade for a pass rusher? Wtf is our GM doing????!

  25. BucTooth Says:

Playoffs your talking playoffs come on man.

  26. Dave Pear Says:

As has been said elsewhere, Tood could have the Watt Brothers, both in their prime, and he’s figure out a way to neuter them and demoralize them too. It’s over. I doubt this team holds anyone under 30 the rest of the year. With lots of highly regarded players. Adios, El Toddo.

  27. Justin Says:

48%..??? No the way they’re playing defense.

  28. PowerOfPewter Says:

The way Bowles’ defense is playing, allowing 34 pts/game over the past 4 weeks, and losing tie-breaker to Atlanta, I’d say the chances of the Bucs making the playoffs is 0. Bowles took over a 13-win team that was 18 months past a SuperBowl win, and has proceeded to go 21-21 with it since. And his baby, the defense, has gotten progressively worse, and is currently a dumpster fire. Coen will be a Head Coach next year. The question is: Do the Bucs promote him now, or bid for his services on the open market at the end of the season?
