Bucky Irving Will Wear The Creamsicles

October 25th, 2024

Will play Sunday.

On Creamsicle Sunday, Bucs rookie running back Bucky Irving will don the Bucco Bruce helmet.

That’s the word from Brianna Dix of Buccaneers.com. Bucs coach Todd Bowles today said Irving, who previously did not practice Wednesday or Thursday but did practice today, will be ready to go as the Bucs face the Dixie Chicks, barring an unforeseen setback.

Irving is dealing with a toe injury that Bowles said gave him trouble in college as well.

This is obviously good news to Joe because Joe figures with the depleted receiving corps and the way the Dixie Chicks threw at will on Bowles’ defense in Atlanta, the Bucs are going to try to play keepaway.

Joe doesn’t think the Bucs have the ammunition right now to get into a gunfight with any team.

Bowles also ruled out safety Tykee Smith and defensive tackle Greg Gaines.

My hope is teams think they have an easy week the next few weeks and underprepare. Our injuries sure make it easy to overlook us.

  2. Pewter Power Says:

In typical Todd Bowles fashion we’ll play a guy who missed most of practice on a short week. With Mike and Chris gone we’re gonna need this guy. Guess we have to hope it was only minor. The dead face desperation

  3. Dave Pear Says:

Bet the farm, the ranch, find all the leveraged bets you can find on the Falcons to win, cover, beat their over, beat the combined over. Any minuscule chance the Bucs had to score enough points to compensate for another display of public diarrhea by Todd and his “Cover Who?” Defense is out the window. The only creamsicle win was in Josh Freeman’s debut against the Packers. They’ve lost every one since.

Oh well I guess it’s only fitting for the team with the worst defense in franchise history to be wearing the uniform of the worst franchise in professional sports history. Losers are as losers do.

Only more appropriate if Tood is fitted for a creamsicle dunce cap to wear on the sideline.

  4. A Bucs Fan Says:

What kind of toe injury lingers since college!?

  5. Kenton Smith Says:

A Bucs Fan – turf toe can be a chronic injury – more than a few careers have been ended because of it.

  6. Bosch Says:

Good news is Bucky plays. Bad news is the players being forced to wear those *** looking uniforms. How humiliating!

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

Somebody here ask what kind of toe injury lingers..You have no idea how High school and college injuries heal and return in the Pro’s. This is hard nose football. Not tennis. I never made it to the pro’s. But I still got lingering college football injuries. And I’m in my 50’s.

  8. Buc off Says:

Dave Pear. You seem like a loser if I may say so myself.

  9. El HEFE Says:

As a fan looking at what other fans say and think about our team is just crazy are y’all fans or crybaby’s we have some set backs the only things fans need to do is cheer on your team that’s it I see mopes and grouches about stuff that happened in football people get hurt people make mistakes if your not a coach or player shut up I’m almost certain no one can coach up players or anyone can do better than any player on the team or come up with a game plan I understand y’all mad about the season but be fr( if none of our guys got injured how many’s games do u think we lose so far?) probably none or maybe just the broncos

  10. El HEFE Says:

And Dave pear go be a saints fan we don’t need your loser ways

  11. GoneGator Says:

According to Todd it’s NOT turf toe.

  12. Pmike Says:

Really a lot of fair weather fans. You don’t like Bowles? Don’t like his decisions? Wanna see a baby Trask play? Go root for the effing jaguars

  13. Pewter Power Says:

You may not like someone’s opinion but no need for name calling keyboard killers. I don’t believe in the team because I don’t believe in the coach. Even if we had Mike and Chris I don’t trust Todd Bowles to close out Atlanta offense. Doesn’t make me less of a fan

Loser ways are quitting in the middle of a game and being unprofessional because teammates got hurt or talking a team lightly because your 2-0 then getting destroyed by a 0-2 team playing a rookie quarterback. This team is inconsistent and there’s a reason people keep saying they need to draft an a hole, there’s no leadership

  14. Bucs Bucs Bucs! Says:

Dave Pear…. wow. negativity is what you’re all about? Dreary. Please stop.
    This is suppo5to be fun.

  15. Dave Pear Says:

Truth and facts hurt apparently. A true fan calls out poor peformance, not just blindly bringing the sugarcane and lollipops no matter what.

This glaring weakness has been glaring now for a long time. Todd’s defense can’t slow down a retarded sloth, and as predicted, the points are catching up to the yards allowed. A real head coach would make adjustments. But this “genius” hasn’t done anything except run off his best press man corner. Forces the other one to play deep shell zone, and has overseen the regression of Vita Vea, Logan Hall, JTS, Devin White, and even Winfield and Whitehead. And now, Kancey, Diane, Zyon all showing signs of regression. And the turd on top of the cake is KJ Britt. Rather than move to operate him, he’s still trotted out there like Boxer the Horse from Animal Farm. He went to the glue factory, which is where Brittnis headed.

Yes the truth hurts. But it doesn’t change the truth.

  16. StickinUp4Centers Says:

I broke a toe and that took close to a year to finally have no pain and I wasn’t a professional athlete. Toe injuries linger because you can’t avoid not using them.

This week we learned that Dennis’s shoulder injury was around in college and Irving’s toe injury was around in college what’s up with drafting damaged goods?

  17. GoneGator Says:

You know what would be great? If commenters could try to stay on topic!

Do we need to see/read the same old $hit in the comments of every article, no matter what the article is about?

  18. Fred Says:

Joe you never have faith until we do it LFG!

  19. Zoocomics Says:

@A Bucs Fan…I want to say former Guard/Buccaneer Carl Nicks career ended with a combination of Turf Toe and Mersa outbreak in the Bucs locker room.

  20. Matt_PcAfee Says:

Question, do rookies only get a game check if they play?

  21. August 1976 Buc Says:

Its going to take a miracle for this current Bucs team to go 5-5 after 10 games. Hard to win if the defense is a sieve and you have to have a shootout for a chance to win. With the Offense currently being a walking mash unit, it makes for some painful to watch games ahead. Rough seas for the good ship Buccaneers

    GO BUCS!!!!

  22. BuckyBuc Says:

    just run the damn ball

  23. adam from ny Says:

bucky stubbed his toe on that nice new coffee table he bought for his new crib…it happens…

bucky can juke anyone on the field…but he couldn’t dodge that damn coffee table at home in his underoos…

    these things happen

  24. Gipper Says:

See NFL fined Roquan Smith for illegal hip drop tackle on Chris Godwin. The fine was around $17,000. The cowards is the NFL should suspend Roquan Smith for the same length of time CG will be out. That tackle was just what the NFL had in mind when they made those tackles illegal. It is a dirty play designed to injure ankles and legs of ball carrier. Really surprised with all the word wasted on Bowles coaching and Mayfield’s 2 INT’s that few on this blog mentioned what was clearly an illegal and harmul tackle designed to injure an opponent.

  25. Fred Says:

    Hire Gruden!

  26. BallHawk75 Says:

Every time we wear those things we get pounded. I expect more of the same.

If the HC can’t get his team ready for a must win game against a division rival and for the division lead, then he must be shown the door.

Anywhere else his record would be worse and he’d already be on unemployment.

    Cut the drift wood loose!

  27. LakelandBuc Says:

We don’t need Bucky to beat the Falcons
We have Rachaad and Tucker to handle the load

His toe injury will only hamper our run game
I hope he only gets limited action

  28. MJ Says:

    hes going to fumble again
atl will punch the ball out

  29. Dave Pear Says:

Ballhawk – agreed. The lifetime losing head coach just gagged his way back to .500 with the Bucs. Even Rich Kotite or Bobby Petrino could be .500 with the Bucs roster over the last 3 seasons. Jason has to be pissedoff his good players are regressing under the Cover Who coaching of the scheme masturmind.

If he would agree to hire Saleh as his next DC and just be a real head coach, I might be coaxed into tolerating one more year of his clinch jaw interviews. He has let Liam score a crapton of points. So, we will see about the defense

  30. Bartow Buc Says:

Pound that rock with White, Buck and Tuck !! Opens the pass to Sterling, Palmer, Otten and McMillan!! So glad to hear Bucky is playing !! The Defense will shut Cousins down !!

It’s not the uniforms it’s the players, the Bucs are going to win this one.

    Go Bucs !! L G !!

  31. GoneGator Says:

    @Gipper
    Definitely a hip drop tackle.

We were guilty of one too… Think it was Winfield or David but it didn’t result in serious injury

  32. Pewter Power Says:

We had a great run game against the saints but that didn’t suddenly make us a dominate run team. With Atlanta secondary being their strength they probably won’t respect our young receivers and focus on our run but that could work in our favor

    ———-

If you want people suspended for this nonsense, you’re going to love when the NFL goes to flag football.

    Injuries happen, it’s not ballet.

  36. Lightning Buc Says:

Dave Pear, Are you a fan or just a troll. If you’re a fan, you should seriously find some therapy. It’s just a game dude. No need to try to trash EVERTHING!

  37. A Bucs Fan Says:

@Rod didn’t you see the recently retired player union president Demaurice Smith author an article about flag football being the future of the sport this offseason? It’s coming.

  38. Gipper Says:

    RodMunch,

Hey tough guy, the NFL penalizes players for face mask grabbing , clipping, and helmet hits to the head. The hip drop tackle is arguably the most dangerous as it is designed for tackler to throw his entire weight on the legs and ankles of ball carrier. This is exactly what the NFL was trying to prevent which cost Godwin the rest of his season. Godwin’s injury was gruesome and deliberate. Smith needs to be suspended for the same length of time CG will be out.

  39. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Yo Dave, tell us what you really think! Lol

  40. Hal 9000 Says:

I am offended by all the negative comments about the Creamsicle uniforms. It is our heritage. Seeing fans wearing the Creamsickles at away games is awsome and really stands out in a great way.

  41. Kenton Smith Says:

Gipper you forgot the horse collar. I read Rod Munch it’s not ballet comment before bed. And I fantasized that I was the cornerback and Munch a scrawny receiver who got a step on me around the edge. The horse collar was legal when I played. We didn’t know it was called a horse collar. It is effective at bringing a man down though. Anyway when I got Munch by the collar ( with both hands ) I dropped my weight hard. Adding a hip drop to the horse collar. The only sounds were a snap followed by an intense scream. Hey a guy can dream.

  42. Kenton Smith Says:

Ok I can’t help it. When I start fantasizing I can’t help but needing to come to a satisfying conclusion. So they replaced RodMunchs butt and yep you guessed it. His backup was Dave Pear. And he got a step on me on the edge too!

  43. El HEFE Says:

Calling it now Dave pear is a closet raciest…. Just curious if u could tell Todd what you really want to say would it be something about football or with slurs that can’t be repeated
