Falcons Lose At Home To Seattle; Bucs Own First Place

October 20th, 2024

How bout those first-place Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

It was a happy Sunday afternoon for Bucs fans because the Falcons got mauled at home by the Seahawks. Seattle took a 34-14 early in the fourth quarter and it was garbage time after that.

You like that!?!?

Even Falcons rookie QB Michael Penix got to play.

The Falcons are 4-3, a half-game behind the Bucs in the NFC South as the Saints sit at 2-5 riding a five-game losing streak. Now all the Bucs (4-2) have to do is go end the Ravens’ four-game winning streak tomorrow night at The Licht House.

Man, if the Bucs jump their record to 5-2, they would be in such prime position for a special season.

Really sweet to see Kissin’ Cousins get his beak bloodied while giving up a TD the other way. I don’t think he liked that.

  2. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    LFG

  3. MadMax Says:

oh yeah….that was a fluke win against us….we’ll meet again and right that ship.

This was good to see….WE’RE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFC, KNOW THAT!

  4. unbelievable Says:

    LMAO

We don’t really own 1st place until we win tomorrow night, let’s be honest.

  5. LakelandBuc Says:

The Bucs win the NFC South again with a 9-8 record

I been saying it all along
The NFC South is the weakest division in NFL history
A 500 team will rule it, the Bucs are a 500 team

  6. Fred McNeil Says:

    Sweet! Just sweet.

  7. MadMax Says:

    ^750….get it right

  8. DBS Says:

As of today the NFL say we are in first place . now it’s ours to keep or lose.

  9. Fred McNeil Says:

Unbelievable, if the Foolcans had won we would not have even a chance at first place. Now we have a legitimate shot at the lead and at worst we tread water. As Jackie Gleason would say: (Mmmm, how sweet it is.)

  10. Nicholas Carlson Says:

I was very confident the Bucs would be at Falcons at home until I learned it’s the creamsicle game, and as much as I love how those unis look, I am worried!

  11. Buc4evr Says:

Let’s not celibrate just yet. Bucs have a huge task in front of them tomorrow night. I am pretty worried about our defense against that sneaky Lamar.

  12. unbelievable Says:

Yes Fred, but only if we win. If we lose, Falcons are still in 1st. That’s the point.

  13. heyjude Says:

This is wonderful and will get the Bucs even more excited for the game tomorrow night. Go Bucs!

  14. Kenton Smith Says:

unbelievable you are right. If we lose we delay the inevitable for a week. I would not want to be the Falcons a week from today. These Bucs of ours can’t wait for tomorrow night. As soon as that game is over they’ll be focused on the Falcons. Laser Focused. We’re a better team than they are. And 1 week from now we’ll be in first place in the division. Just like we are now.

  15. adam from ny Says:

    win the next 2…
    thus in a good spot

  16. Tbbucs3 Says:

Falcons are frauds….Bucs control their own destiny

  17. Kenton Smith Says:

Whether it’s in first place by 1 or 2 games won’t matter because we’re designed to finish strong. And my guess is finishing strong is going to start tomorrow.

  18. Bucsfan81 Says:

Still think the Falcons are way over rated and I can’t wait until we play them next Sunday. I want revenge for the overtime loss that should have never happened. First thing is first take care of business tomorrow night.

  19. Vanessa Anne Says:

The Ravens will be a statement win.

The Falcons will be an important win.

We win the South, we’re in the playoffs.

We lose it, we may get a wild card, we may not.

I think we can win both games and put the rest of the league on notice! LFG!!

  20. stpetebucfan Says:

Even if the Bucs lose tomorrow night they still retain home field advantage.

And it’s not just with the Falcons! The Bucs have 4 Division games left with THREE of them at home and the remaining road game against Carolina.

At this point I’m just hoping the Bucs stay healthy. Two hammies to worry about and a concussed RT, along with the ballsiest QB in the league which is exciting but scary at the same time when you see Baker take a hit like he did on the hip at N.O. Hip pointers are incredibly painful and CAN keep guys out for a couple of weeks or at minimum hinder their play.

Well I gotta go all Alfred E. Neumann (young guys can google) and like he always said, “What, me worry”?

  21. Defense Rules Says:

Bucs played the Falcons on a short week in Game 1, and now we’ll play them on another short week in Game 2. Big difference IMO is that we were pretty banged up before our 1st meeting. We’re healing now, and hopefully we come out of tomorrow night’s game A-OK.

  22. Pewter Power Says:

That’s is Bucs fans for us happy when somebody else does our job for us. Bucs lost the division lead and someone gave it back to us. But Y’all celebrating as if we don’t play Monday and we automatically will beat the falcons the next game too. The falcons are overrated but what are we if they beat us twice? I guess that’s impossible right

  23. orlbucfan Says:

Bucs win (somehow) tomorrow night, and it will be no problem next Sunday. Wearing the original creamsicle unis and the pirate helmets is no curse, period. It sure looks more Floridian than pewter and red. I get why the Glazers overhauled the look when they bought the team. The Bucs need to win tomorrow night for morale building. Dedicate the win to it. Let’s face it: a lot of people got slammed by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Folks lost everything. An upset win over one of the NFL elites would be a huge morale booster for the whole Central FL area. C’mon Tampa Bay, you can do it.

  24. BakerBucs says Says:

Pewter power wtf is wrong with people like u, u r post name shud b puke powder numb nuts

  25. HC Grover Says:

    Good…parity is exciribg

  26. orlbucfan Says:

Joes, I really like that pic of Bowles hugging LVD. Great shot. I still remember LVD’s face shining with happy tears when he ran off the field after the Bucs sealed their playoff berth that led to our second SB win. Class A player and human being.

  27. Kgh4life Says:

    You Like That?

  28. adam from ny Says:

    @orlbucfan:

that is not a pic of bowles hugging LVD…

look at the hair and look at the size of him…

i’m gonna say it’s gerald mccoy rocking and LVD jersey and chillin’ with the team

  29. Vinny from NYC Says:

Am I the only one who’s tired of hearing how weak the NFC South is? The Bucs have beaten Washington and Lions both teams lead their division. The Eagles a 2nd place team. Bucs losses are to 2nd place teams. Sounds like Bucs are pretty solid.

  30. SenileSenior Says:

Thanks, Vinny. The Bucs are solid. How good we can be remains to be seen. The next two games are important but not the end of our season.

    Go Bucs!

  31. Mac Says:

What’s crazier is if we lose tomorrow we are not even in the playoffs 2 weeks from halfway through the season. They need to take 3 of these next 4 somehow someway. Next week is a massive game for if we lose we got some major work to do if we want to make it 5 straight years of making the playoffs!

  32. richbucsfan Says:

For the next 24 hours anyway. Go Bucs!!!

  33. StickinUp4Centers Says:

Former Buc Grant Stuard had 19(!) tackles for the Colts today.

  34. adam from ny Says:

    somehow win these next 2…

    win monday night…………..somehow

revenge vs the falcons at home next weekend in the orange throwback filled stadium…….i think we win this one

then split the next 2 as you slide into the bye…that’s all we could ask for – like an early x-mas

  35. adam from ny Says:

i think if we somehow win tomorrow, we go on a little run…

then beating both the falcons, and going to kc and rolling them for their 1st loss of the season…

then we come home and sleepwalk like the “bowles old zombie squad” lol, and get thumped by a desperate san fran team – as we go into the bye…

so if we win tomorrow i see us winning all games going into the bye except when sf comes to ray jay…

and i will take that every day of the week, including pizza day

  36. JimBobBuc Says:

Certainly great that ATL and even SF lost today, but the Bucs need to ignore the noise and go beat the Ravens. Way way too early for the Bucs to listen to the swooning cheerleaders out there.

  37. orlbucfan Says:

Yeah Adam, my bad, I missed the braids. LVD doesn’t have them. Who is the dude smiling and hugging him? That’s a LVD jersey, and my comment about his happy tears still stands.

  38. adam from ny Says:

    ^^^

seems to be mccoy and coach hugging it out 😉

  39. adam from ny Says:

also as i’ve been looking at the schedule…

and yeah i’m getting waaay ahead of myself for a minute here…

    but…

after the bye i had us going basically 5-2 before the season, while making predictions…

but if we are the real deal, and somehow turn a corner here, and win like 3 of the next 4………

sheeesh………i’m thinking we can possibly go 6-1 down the stretch…….as the post bye week group of teams is looking less competitive than ever before…!

look at that post bye schedule…those teams are weak af…

i see us getting jammed up for a loss when we play san diego and dallas…we split with those 2 teams…but that’s about it…

    carolina we can sweep…
giants are a hot mess and just lost their LT for the year…
    saints are looking feeble af…
and vegas has nothing but a poor man’s baker mayfield at qb and by then crosby will be getting tired of losing…

we could go 6-1 down the stretch if we catch fire and stay relatively healthy…

these next 4 game could very well dictate our season…!

and all it starts in 24 hours !!

  40. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Enjoy it…for a day.

  41. DBS Says:

Those of us fans who don’t suffer from Optical Rectumitis are enjoying for today. Also have a great feeling about our team tomorrow night.

  42. Bucs Guy Says:

Ravens, Falcons, Chiefs, and 49ers. I would love to go 3-1 or better, but I would be satisfied with 2-2 if one of the Ws is against Atlanta

  43. Dave Pear Says:

Too bad the Bucs head coach made a dog’s breakfast out of the Falcons game at the end. Oh well, at least his pass defense gave up 500 yards.

  44. snookman9 Says:

its going to be tough and take a special effort. I do not think we win this game. I do think we have what it takes to win this game if we play our best game and not beat ourselves. I have not seen enough from the Bucs to think that we wont struggle vs this type of team. But it isnt the end of the world. The Ravens and Chiefts are the two best coached teams we will play this season.

The Saints game last week was basically a microcosim of what we are right now: A very good team that at times beats itself. When we are on:(2nd half saints, eagles game) We can beat anyone. When we beat ourselves( Saints game after 17-0, Broncos Game) We are very bad.

Its going to be a tall task to stop this Ravens team on Monday Night. Regardless………….I hope we improve throughout the season

32-18 Ravens. 4-3 then 5-3 after Falcons game 5-4, then 5-5, Then we go on a run

    10-7 to finish season.

  45. garro Says:

Means little ATM. We win the next two and it is monumental.

    Go Bucs!

  46. Saskbucs Says:

I honestly don’t even care if the guys get caught looking ahead to Atlanta tomorrow. Well I don’t want them embarrassed on national tv so I shouldn’t say that but if that’s what it took to crush Atlanta Sunday…

I hope Winfield Kancey and Goedeke back in vs them proves to be massive and it very well might.

  47. Dave Pear Says:

Todd is the master at getting embarrassed on national TV. Have confidence in Todd.

  48. FortMyersDave Says:

Just to add to a point the Lakeland Buc Fan made. This is not a strong division right now. It is not as bad as the AFC East but look at Carolina and New Orleans circling the drain and the ATL got schooled by a reeling Seattle club who travelled East. The Bucs are the best team in the division but that is not saying a whole lot. Plus the Bucs need to win that creamsicle game and the Bucs have only won once in those cursed throwback uniforms. Additional thought: a mediocre Denver team boat raced both Tampa and the Aints, next week they will probably boat race Carolina and Payton will out coach Rah just like he did Bowles and Dennis Allen. Now the Bucs and ATL beat Philly so the NFC South can compete out of division, it is just that on a whole the NFC South does not win winnable games like when each team plays the Broncos and that is a classic definition of mediocrity.

  49. Dave Pear Says:

There are only a handful of coaches Todd can out coach. Apparently Raheehaw isn’t one of them . John Harbaugh, Andy Reid, and Kyle Shanahan are all separately giggling right now at how easy it is to beat the masturmind’s defense. Throw slants, mid range in routes, and pick on KJ Corpse. The next four games really make Bucs fans wish Todd didn’t hurl grits all over the field against Atlanta with a golden opportunity to close out the game.

  50. D Cone Says:

Only downsides I see to the Falcons loss is it puts another win in the NFCW column towards a Division Title or Wildcard. Another is after the Cousins giveaway game like the Vikings/Bucs Week 1 2023 he came back the following week focused and threw for over 350 with 4TD’s and no Picks.

If the new Ravens DC finally gains traction as the Seahawks did this week it won’t be pretty. Best to be hoping for Baltimore to play a stinker as the Lions did in Week 2.

Bucs Offense is timing base and it was good timing to Play the Commanders and Lions early. Ravens would have been a good one two play early too as they were beat by the Raiders.

Some might think this is a Super Bowl preview. Based on the Bucs play vs Good Teams I think they get exposed and hope not to many DB’s end up on the Injury Report trying to stop Henry because it’s a short week to get ready for ATL. .

  51. Lightningvinny Says:

Show up tonight and compete and hope for the best ,, I’m going in w the same mindset as the Detroit game,,, we will see how it goes

  52. Mike Johnson Says:

Quite temporary if we do not beat the Ravens.

  53. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Defense is utter GARBAGE
