Sean Tucker: Sure I Want To Start
October 13th, 2024So, are we going to see a new starting running back?
Is Bucky Irving going to share time in the backfield with another running back aside from Rachaad White?
After today, it’s possible that White might get Wally Pipp’ed. So who the hell is Wally Pipp? Around 100 years ago, he was a starting first baseman with the Yankees. Then he got hurt and Lou Gehrig took his place. For the next 2,130 games, Gehrig took the field as the Yankees’ first baseman, a streak that stood until Cal Ripken surpassed it.
The reason why Tucker, the Bucs’ second-year running back, even played today on offense is because White had a foot injury and was not active against the slimy Saints.
And Tucker went bananas.
Running hard, attacking holes, evading tackles, Tucker looked like a combination of Playoff Lenny and Warrick Dunn. He had 136 yards and averaged a hair under 10 yards a carry.
Tucker also had three catches including a 36-yarder for a touchdown.
Tucker didn’t know he would have a huge role until today when the Bucs deemed White unable to play. So he practiced last week thinking he could play, but again, he wasn’t sure.
So when Joe asked Tucker if today’s performance was his personal résumé to give to offensive coordinator Liam Coen to be a new Bucs starting running back, Tucker just smiled and said, “I always want to start.”
Let’s be real: White is a one-dimensional running back. He’s a good catcher of the football though his receiving numbers are down this year.
Tucker? If he plays remotely like he did today, he is equally as effective catching as White.
No sense sugarcoating it: The Bucs have been waiting since the start of the 2022 season for White to establish himself as a go-to running back. With the exception of maybe a couple of games, he’s not trustworthy getting 20 carries a game.
Joe believes unless there was some sort of weird excuse or reasoning for Tucker to have such a big day, he has earned the right to carry the rock at least as the Bucs’ No. 2 running back.
October 13th, 2024 at 6:54 pm
He had quite the game. How long has it been since we’ve seen this?
October 13th, 2024 at 6:55 pm
White to the bench — Bucky and Sean — No Brainer!
October 13th, 2024 at 6:57 pm
Tucker/ Irving & White situational.
October 13th, 2024 at 6:58 pm
Irving and Tucker = #1 and #2 RBs.
White = #3
October 13th, 2024 at 7:01 pm
The game proves that White needs to stay on the bench and let Bucky and Tucker fight out being #1 and #2. My apologies for bashing center Robert Hainsey last year. The problem appears to be white. White has great hands but poor vision and instinct for a RB.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:03 pm
Hainsey is no Barton!
October 13th, 2024 at 7:05 pm
Tucker and Irving the rest of the way.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:06 pm
Everyone pretending White didn’t average 7.2ypc just last week.
It’s not about benching any of them- it’s about using all of them. Why would anyone be upset about a 3 headed monster at RB? That said, it does make White chances of a 2nd contract slimmer and slimmer.
Personally I love it.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:07 pm
Probably the best best running performance in a long long time
October 13th, 2024 at 7:09 pm
Pretty hard to be effective with 3 RBs touching the ball unless we run the same offense as the Army, Air Force and Navy.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:09 pm
The Bucs have many problems but a starting RB ain’t one.
All three guys can tote the rock.
Great job by Buck & Tuck!
October 13th, 2024 at 7:09 pm
This preseason he looked like the most dynamic back that we had. I could not understand how the coaching staff saw him perform the way he did in the preseason and we were still running Richard White for 2 yards to carry.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:11 pm
I say ride the hot hand until someone stops it.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:11 pm
All you weak minded *#%+*! that want to “bench” Rachaad.
You don’t realize how dynamic the game and season is.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:12 pm
Move Barton to left guard
October 13th, 2024 at 7:15 pm
All you “win” minded *#%+*! that want to “bench” Rachaad.

Fixed it for you

Tucker can run inside and outside and catch. Like Earnest Graham.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:18 pm
Some of the “anointed “ only think it was because Atlanta has a porous run defense. Others believe it has as much to do with skill and desire.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:18 pm
This bodes well for the rest of the season.. can’t overstate the power of a great running attack. If Bucs can stay healthy…. A dangerous football team.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:19 pm
The Buck and Tuck show looked incredible this week! I have high hopes for this run game going forward. It looks like the offensive line is finding it stride!
Add White’s passing down skills and Palmer coming back healthy and this team can be top scoring team in the league.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:30 pm
It was a great game for the RBs both Irving and Tucker.
I agree they earned more time and carries but lets not over react from one game. I expected in the 2nd half we could run the Saints out of the building cause it was obvious they didnt had the legs after playing Monday.
I am not saying White is an udisputed starter but lets have some patience.
It was one game, we need to see more before we start saying we found the solution for the running game.
Go Bucs
October 13th, 2024 at 7:32 pm
Tuck was no joke 2day
October 13th, 2024 at 7:34 pm
Move Barton to left guard no brainer
October 13th, 2024 at 7:51 pm
They showed the exact same output in the preseason. This shouldn’t be that big of a surprise.
October 13th, 2024 at 7:53 pm
Tucker should definitely take over punt return duties from McMillan.
October 13th, 2024 at 8:02 pm
this is a good problem to have…long season…3 headed monster at rb is only a good thing…
i don’t think you pull white…you let things happen organically…
or maybe go with the “buck & tuck” show vs baltimore and give white a breather to refresh those legs for another week…
see how they do vs a tough harbaugh baltimore defense…
if they aren’t showing out in the first half, let white get touches as the game wears on…
good problem to have…
balance these mofos out if necessary…or go with the hot hand or the guy who is eating the most…
i will say it again……..good problem to have…you can never have too many good players
October 13th, 2024 at 8:11 pm
White is a FA next season, doubt he gets resigned. Bucky and Tucker catch the ball just as well, and both are good willing pass blockers. Seen enough of White, let’s see more of Buck, and Tuck..hey I like that!
October 13th, 2024 at 8:14 pm
Make White a WR. Give him 6 to 8 plays a game. Get creative with him. We gotta pound the rock with Bucky and Tucker after today.
October 13th, 2024 at 8:22 pm
Me Likey Bucky and Tucky!!!
October 13th, 2024 at 8:39 pm
Buck and Tuck !!
October 13th, 2024 at 9:07 pm
I like Irving and Tucker…..both of those guys can gash a defense for 10-20 yd carries. White simply isn’t a threat at RB.
October 13th, 2024 at 9:16 pm
He has really good balance after contact almost knocks him down. He has really good vision and great patience in setting up his blocks. Definitely runs with power and authority
October 13th, 2024 at 9:30 pm
it’s good to have three in case one gets hurt
October 13th, 2024 at 9:31 pm
Elio T I agree on this one .White is the best pass catch back we have. You don’t put him on the bench . So what if you alert the other team if you are passing. You still utilize his skill.
October 13th, 2024 at 9:41 pm
Besides the coaches and players see who is doing what every day in practice.i trust them more than the opinions on here or what Joe’s opinion is.I already know he hates White.
October 13th, 2024 at 11:32 pm
Tucker today was the guy we drafted, but stronger, smarter and hungry. The dude is pure beast. Fullback, giant arms, shoulders 3’ wide and thunderous thighs. Homey has been pumping iron for the last 2 years and it shows. He’s ready to take the lead. His vision today finding holes was excellent. To me he looked like Barry Sanders. Bucky did well but Tucker is cross between a thoroughbred and a Clydesdale. Hainsey needed some time off and he earned his job back today. The Bucs had stamina today. They were a 4’th quarter team, money. Baker is a warrior and they followed his lead. The Saints thought they had this game. The refs did everything they could to gift it to them. The Bucs D line came alive and the offense pounded the rock. The Saints hopes and dreams were crushed.
October 13th, 2024 at 11:37 pm
Tucker did more today in one game than White has done since he got here. White is adept at running into linemen’s butts. If the hole isn’t where it’s supposed to be, he rarely can find another one. White is smooth but he doesn’t run with power. Derek Henry runs with power. You’re running against power and it’s easier to beat power with more power. Finesse rarely cuts the mustard. When something is working well, stick to it until they stop it.

Welcome to the
BUCK -n- TUCK
any chance they can get a third rounder for White? Or do they need him for the depth?
October 14th, 2024 at 6:47 am
“”White to the bench — Bucky and Sean — No Brainer!””
Have you met Todd Bowles? Todd makes changes ONLY when he’s forced to, regardless of production.
October 14th, 2024 at 6:55 am
It was surmised that he had issues in pass protection so if he has corrected those issues I say let him eat for a while!
October 14th, 2024 at 11:09 am
It’s # 44 for me!! Let him prove it again Monday Night against # 22!!!
October 14th, 2024 at 12:49 pm
Play da man!
October 14th, 2024 at 1:43 pm
Trade rahaaad and whatever else for a pass rusher…let the kids cook!
Go Bucs
October 14th, 2024 at 1:51 pm
I’ve been waiting to see this kid play since we got him. Love the way he runs and there’s something special about him
October 14th, 2024 at 3:47 pm
Bucky and Tucker are the future, White is the past. He’s a 3rd down back and always has been. Tucky is a great combo! Love when a sneaky injury is a blessing in disguise. Depth at RB is exactly what this team needed for a deeper playoff run. White should be relegated to 3rd down back and only when he’s 100% healthy. We will need him too
October 14th, 2024 at 7:11 pm
Do that#44 proud, Young Man! Let’s go,Orange! This young man deserves a lot off praise, has overcome many obstacles and shows incredible determination. So happy to see his hard work paying off. Feel like White is a banger and needs that running start, very effective on the swing pass. But, as far as #1, has to be Buck and Tuck. Must address the D, but that’s another post. GO BUCS!!!
