Stop Alvin Kamara, Stop The Slimy Saints?
October 13th, 2024So the Bucs are facing a fifth-round pick of a quarterback, a rookie, who will make his NFL debut today.
Good gosh almighty, Joe doesn’t know what Joe’s response would be if the Bucs give up the booty and let Rattler beat them. If that happens, there is something very wrong going on at One Buc Palace.
Part of the reason Joe is leery of Todd Bowles maybe having his defense surprised by a rookie is that just three weeks ago a rookie quarterback, Bo Nix, was struggling mightily yet he rose up and tagged the Bucs with a loss. (Yes, Joe knows Nix didn’t throw a touchdown pass in that game.)
Common sense tells Joe, especially since the slimy Saints’ head coach is a defensive guy more paranoid about turnovers than he is the IRS, the slimy Saints won’t put Rattler in a position to lose the game.
So expect stud running Alvin Kamara to get a heavy dose of touches today. And what worries Joe is that, yes, Kamara is having a renaissance with this career and his strength is something the Bucs struggle to defend.
Eric Moody of BSPN documents how Kamara could be an ugly matchup for the Bucs.
… The Buccaneers’ defense gives up the sixth-most receptions and the third-most receiving yards to running backs. Kamara should be a key part of New Orleans’ game plan.
If slimy Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak was smart — and he doesn’t appear to be a dummy — he should scheme ways to get Kamara one-on-one against K.J. Britt in the pass game.
Normally, the Bucs having to face a third-day draft pick of a rookie at quarterback wouldn’t worry Joe one iota.
But now nothing seems easy for this Bucs defense.

Has Nix had ANY other good games?

Bo Nix, CJ Stroud, Brock Purdy, Daniel Jones… heck we even almost lost to Zach Wilson before that Brady to Grayson miracle.
Color me skeptical of Todd having a good game plan in place.

And 2 of his actual wins against rookies came against Bryce Young last year, who is apparently so bad that even our former motivational speaker Canales benched him after just 3 games.

And this is the problem. I have no faith Bowles sees what every other human sees. KJ Britt on Kamara is a complete mismatch. Yet we’ll watch Britt get abused for 4 straight quarters while Bowles just stands on the sidelines, arms crossed, zero emotion, not talking to any assistant or player for the entire game, while Kamara torches us for 180yds from short pass plays
Then, after the game, we’ll get the same canned speech, “They just need to play better and I’ve got to coach better.”

Nothing but whining and complaining sheesh. Very very few NFL games are actually blow outs, just because it is a rookie does not mean they should be blown out. Have no footage on them which is why they can look good often times. Guys like Stroud & Purdy are on teams with many weapons. Nix started 60 college games as did Daniels, the league has adopted many college styles. Bucs will win the game don’t care if it is by 1 point or 20.

hopefully now that we’re in week 6, kamara will get back to showing off his older, slower, not so fresh legs again

if britt can’t handle him early on, would it be too wild of a move to put grier on him
October 13th, 2024 at 3:20 am
Think Grier is a gr8 idea Adam,Ny
Been wanting 2 c him more
Y dont we switch it up some since Britt probably cant contain him or, double up coverage
There r a few other players we must stop 2, soo glad lots of our guys r back

this would have been such a devin white/LVD game. They give Kamara fits with their speed. Here comes Britt. Tardy to every party,. I fully expect Kamara to have one of those 3-4 touchdown games. but Bucs should still win. Right? RIGHT????? Go Bucs?!

How old is Kamara anyway? He’s starting to get long in the tooth. Bucs owe this storm ravaged area another morale win just like they did when they beat Philly. No reason why they can’t get it done. Go Bucs!!

Kamara always has good games against us. We will not stop him. But we can slow him down for short gains.
