Fearless Versus Broken Cameron Jordan

October 11th, 2024

His team wanted to win.

One of the iconic anti-Bucs clowns of the past decade is Saints edge rusher Cameron Jordan.

Unfortunately, it’s been hard to ignore the guy because his shots have been well played in the media and the eight-time Pro Bowler likely will get to the Hall of Fame one day.

Jordan remains a starter for the Saints’ eigth-ranked defense (points allowed), but he’s become a shell of his former self.

Jordan has 117 1/2 career sacks, though only 2 have come in the past 22 games. He’s got zero this year.

Even more fun is that Jordan was doing offseason interviews talking about how he’s now healthy and as driven than ever. Reality sucks, Cam. You’re a 35-year-old edge rusher with faded explosiveness.

Jordan rushes a little more inside these days, but he’s still found often off the Saints’ left edge. That means he’ll be lined up a lot Sunday on Bucs’ backup right tackle Justin Skule, who has been starting since Week 1 for Luke Goedeke (concussion).

It’s possible Goedeke will be cleared to play for Sunday, but Joe’s not expecting it.

Regardless, it’s wild how times have changed. Joe is fearless when it comes to Jordan lining up on Skule. That’s how far Jordan has fallen.

Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs was very casual talking about Jordan yesterday, expressing that he’s confident in Skule and noting that Jordan (only?) has one major move and Skule has studied it.

To steal Jordan’s famous anti-Donovan Smith line, “food solidified” for another game.

He might be in hall of fame without a ever winning a ring

  3. Bubby Says:

History would suggest we’ll split with New Orleans at best. I only wonder if Sunday is the game we win or lose this year. Remember, Brock Purdys coming out party? Just being real. Go Bucs!

LOL spot on except for future hall of famer. Jordan has less sacks than Simeon Rice (122). Simeon Rice at least won a Super Bowl. Cam Jordan for his largemouth has zero Super Bowls.

  8. Cometowin2 Says:

I was shouting for Dominick to draft him or Heyward that ended up going to the Steelers. Both still playing. We of course draft the guy with Erbs Palsy. Worst GM ever. Although he did get the LVD pick right. He was too vocal for Dumbinick.

  9. Cometowin2 Says:

Jordan that is. Still pisses me off.

  10. Pryda30 Says:

W hy do I fear a trap game ?! Let’s focus take care of a weak saints team thanks bucs

  11. BillyBucco Says:

It can’t be a trap game with NO lol
Plus we are coming off a loss.
As far as Jordan if he is that big into social media and reading other teams sites like this one, I wouldn’t give him any bulletin board material.
He always plays extra hard against us after saying the Saints OWNED the Bucs years ago.
I agree that he is WAY past his prime but why does it matter?
Let’s celebrate our team and not talk or feel good about other teams deficiencies.

  12. zzbucs Says:

How many rings does this guy have?
    Sorrt forgot 0

How many rings do Donnie Smith have?
    Sorry forgot 1

Shut up, you will always lose your argument….

  13. BucU Says:

How is it we’ve seen dozens and dozens of concussions in this league and they come back within 2 weeks and we got the one guy who can’t come back after 5 weeks? And they apparently can’t pinpoint where or when it happened in the first place.
Same thing with the bum Kancey.
Only the Buccaneers can pull that off.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

ZZ Bucs….I think Donnie won at least one more ring with KC

  15. unbelievable Says:

Yeah Donnie has 2 rings now

Actual history says the Saints have won 40 games out of the 65 they played against the Bucs.
That’s close to a 2 to 1 win pace since you seem to be a little math-challenged.

  17. Capeceiskaput Says:

I am enjoying checking the stat lines for the past few years and seeing Jordan with basically a whole lot of nothing. I’m sure he still offers some crafty vet things but he should have left the game a year and a half ago.
And to jump on the Simeon Rice comment above, Simeon played alot less games than Jordan and still has more sacks. Simeon’s first 5 years with the Bucs he averaged almost a sack a game, 79 games played, 67.5 sacks. In 7 playoff games with the Bucs, he had 7 sacks. Jordan is going into the Hall, and even though I don’t like him, it will be for valid reasons, but this ignoring (outside of Tampa) of Simeon for Hall of Fame consideration is nuts.

  18. Bubby Says:

Well, Doosh. We won’t be playing 3 times this year, unless the Bucs meet the saints in the playoffs. Highly unlikely. Anywho, I was talking a bit more anecdotally, but thanks for the pulling the history back 50 years. You seem to be skilled with both math and Google. Good for you, doosh.

  19. adam from ny Says:

    he washed…he washed…up and out…

don’t get me wrong, dude was a beast at one time – but no real bucs fan is gonna be in this guys corner…

duke is “uber washed”, but still might be hyper focused on notching a sack against yung skooly…and he just might do it..

scam jordan only has one real move left and that’s running his mauf

  20. Hodad Says:

Jordan has zero sacks, that’s one less then our fire starter YaYa. Jordan is past his prime, what’s YaYa’s excuse?

  21. Drunkinybor Says:

He talk a lot without saying anything. Cam Cam is weird reminds me of Darren Sharper with the creepy eyes..justvsayin

  22. 1sparkybuc Says:

Our first win ever was on the road against the Saints. We lost both division games to them in 2002 and in 2020. It has to rub them raw that they swept us both seasons where we ended up winning the Lombardi Trophy. Right now I see coaching issues with Bowles being a bigger issue than player injuries, but that’s just me.

  23. Captain gigdab Says:

Not a player on the Bucs who could carry Cameron Jordan’s jockstrap only sniff it
