Zyon McCollum Doesn’t Want To Hear About Distractions

October 9th, 2024

Intelligent approach.

A few days ago when Joe was still seething over how the Bucs p!ssed away a key division road win on a Thursday night, Joe let out a groan hearing the Bucs might be bugging out to New Orleans early to avoid Hurricane Milton.

It’s not that Joe didn’t want the Bucs to leave. It clearly was a smart move. The reason Joe did a facepalm is he thought that would give the Bucs a built-in excuse if they lose Sunday to the slimy Saints.

Oh, the storm. Oh, we had to travel. Oh, did anyone throw the patio furniture into the pool? Oh, we were worried about our homes. Oh, did anyone take the laundry out of the dryer? Oh, we ate too many po’ boys at Parkway Bakery and it gave us all the sh!ts.

The way Bucs cornerback Zyon McCollum sees it, with this unplanned road trip, the Bucs have all kinds of built-in excuses — not to lose, but to win.

“It is chaotic, but in times like this, it really brings a team together,” McCollum said. “It is definetly a time to become closer as a group.

“I have more time to prepare. I know it is a little bit chaotic. But … I don’t have to drive home every day. I’m already at the hotel.

“We as a group, if I have a question late at night, I don’t have to send a text. I can just go knock on somebody’s door and get the answer right away.

“In terms of film study, I think I can be even more prepared. It’s hard not to be locked in when you are stuck in a hotel every day.”

Now this (winning) attitude is right up Joe’s alley!

For Joe, “distractions” is the biggest nonsense ever created. Joe can remember his old high school coach, a guy who played for John Madden, Tom Landry, Gene Stallings and Lou Holtz say, “Distractions are distractions if you let them be distractions.”

In other words, he told Joe’s team to worry about getting the job done and everything will fall into place.

Do your job. Gee, wonder where Joe has heard that before?

Luke Goedekw still hasn’t cleared concussion protocol after suffering a concussion nearly a month ago. This sounds like it might be really really bad. I hope Luke is alright. Think maybe it’s time to start asking is retiring something Luke Goedeke should consider? Are the bucs going to have to draft a RT in the first round of next year draft???

Someone on here posted 2 weeks ago that he won’t see the field ever again and it’s looking more and more that the poster was correct. Not good at all for Tampa. With the dirtiest team in the nfl next on our horizon I am sure they will be trying to injure more of our guys which he surely can NOT AFFORD

Articles not about Luke. That was 2 articles back. Can we try to stay on topic? 🤣

  4. Josh Says:

Winners find a way; losers make excuses.

The contrast between successful individuals and those who fail to achieve their goals. Winners actively seek solutions and persist despite challenges, while losers often rationalize their failures with excuses, ultimately hindering their progress and growth.

    I’ll leave it at that…

Zyon is really coming along this year. He’s playing some good football.

Glad to hear he’s thinking of how to make the situation work for him. Hopefully, the rest of the team is thinking that way too.

Stay safe down there everybody! You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

It has been proven that twins experience telepathy.

We should have signed his twin brother when we had the chance.

So I hope we can fix that mistake by signing his twin brother away from the Eagles in the future.

I want Zion’s twin in Tampa.

    Make it happen Licht.

  7. SenileSenior Says:

Josh is correct. You can learn this in a variety of situations, not just in football. (Yes, the storm is still raging. What are you going to do? 🥹😝 )

Yeah man wouldn’t want players that behave like normal humans would and be worried about their home during one of the most powerful storms to hit the gulf. Grow up.
