Bucs Almost Set Up Shop In Houston

Couple of revealing items about the Bucs from head coach Todd Bowles and their early flight to New Orleans.
The team, along with football staff and their families, bugged out of Tampa yesterday in advance of Hurricane Milton (boy, it’s getting really windy right now at JoeBucsFan.com World Headquarters).
Bowles revealed the team nearly set up shop in Houston rather than New Orleans. It seemed the deciding factor was the Bucs didn’t want to get on a second plane trip this week.
All practices and meetings schedules are the same, Bowles said, as if the Bucs were at home at One Buc Palace. He said the Bucs are trying to keep all schedules as consistent as possible.
The Bucs are practicing at Tulane University, which Joe suspected all along.
Also, Bowles revealed the Bucs may stay in New Orleans for an undetermined amount of time. That’s currently up in the air and he didn’t go into details. Joe suspects if there is widespread damage to Tampa from the storm, including Tampa International Airport, the Bucs may not have much of a choice.

Imagine the disadvantages and mental toll this would take on all of Tampa players, to know that they can’t possibly go home? Minus being with their families and pets everything else is up in the air.

Its only rainy and breezy here in Orlando. Cable is intermittent for some reason. Its not very stormy yet. My son bought chicken wings for supper. Hoping he gets them cooked before we lose power.

Fully understand about Bucs maybe staying there for awhile after the game. We have no idea what this area is going to be like afterwards. After Irma many were without electricity for weeks, traffic lights out, businesses and schools shut down, gas and food were scarce too.

One would hope so, but talent and intelligence are keys to it all. For so many on the D are persistently out of position sort of speaks to lack of talent and lack of football intelligence.

I am a bucks fan born and raised in Central Florida I live closer to Daytona Beach thanl Tampa Bay. The storm is serious enough for those who can’t afford to take days off still are and preparations to protect their families. No matter if the teams and their families are out of the area they’re going to think about their community their neighbors and etc. Storm is real but we will persevere but don’t think for one minute this is not a distraction and a good call by coach not to add an extra flight in all of this. Multiple media outlets including JoeBucsFan.com reported that the team members took their families and even their pets.
The Glazers also rented a couple hundred hotel rooms in the Orlando area for other Bucs organization staffers.

Since Houston owns Todd’s defense, that makes sense.
