Calijah Kancey Was Full-Go At Practice Today

October 9th, 2024

Second-year defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.

Ecstasy at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters today, and it has nothing to do with the abudance of storm supplies in the refrigerator.

Per Buccaneers in-house writer Scott Smith, Todd Bowles said defensive tackle Calijah Kancey was full-go at practice today. And Bowles did not say Kancey did anything negative to his healed(?) calf.

Kancey pulled/tore/strained his calf just before opening day and hasn’t played all season. Joe knows the Bucs have been cautious with Kancey, and rightfuly so. He’s that important.

Barring a setback, Joe assumes Kancey will be on the field Sunday against the slimy Saints.

He’s been running sprints the previous two weeks with trainers. Practice is the final test. Hope he has a six sack game Sunday.

    Winfield?

Did some things, Bowles said. What that exactly means, no clue.

Bowles did say the injury list is long and he “didn’t want to forget anyone.” LOL

Joe was saying Goedeke looks less than promising, but that might have been a later post. I’m reading them down the line.

  16. DBS Says:

That’s good for today. Now can he make it to the game?

  17. Pelsbuc61 Says:

He’ll probably have an ingrown toenail that will keep him out another 5 weeks. Plus, we all know 2nd string QBs always feast on Bucs defenses.

The return of Kancey adds a dynamic edge to the pass rush, revitalizing the team’s and Todd Bowles defensive strategy. He’s Known for his explosive first step and agility, brings a disruptive force that can penetrate opposing offensive lines. His ability to collapse the pocket not only creates pressure on the quarterback but also opens opportunities for his teammates to make impactful plays. YaYa, Hall etc… With Kancey back in action, the defense looks poised to elevate its performance and become a more formidable presence on the field. If he’s healthy and plays like last year, this could be the boost the defense needs.
