“Todd Bowles Has Blitzed The Crap Out Of Jalen Hurts”

September 28th, 2024

“Lavonte, you ready to blitz this joker?”

A man who played five years in the NFL as an offensive lineman (and was a Princeton teammate of Kyle Brandt) knows how teams that are embarrassed often respond unless they’ve thrown the towel in on the season.

So Ross Tucker, who also calls Eagles TV preseason games and hosts an Eagles-centric podcast, took to one of his family of football podcasts and believes fate is smiling on the Bucs tomorrow.

There’s a combination of factors that leads Tucker to his conclusion. One is, too many injuries on offense for the Eagles. But Tucker seems to think the Bucs are a good team and the way they were slapped around by Sean Payton and the Broncos last week, the Bucs are going to primed for battle tomorrow.

“That was a really poor showing by them last week,” Tucker said. “I think the Bucs are better than that.”

One thing that Tucker is confident of, is that Bucs coach Todd Bowles will “blitz the crap” out of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Based on him having blitzed him, he will most likely not blitz at all just to psych out everyone and we will get torched.

  2. LakelandBuc Says:

Jalen Hurts is reading and picking up blitzes better this season. Actually, he has a better passing rating on blitzing downs, than non- blitzing downs. I don’t place too much emphasis on past games. They dominated us last season, then they hit a slump and we dominated them in the playoffs. This is a new year, new players, new systems……it will come down to….who want it the baddest!!

  3. Rod Munch Says:

That’s why they’ll never suspect it – they’ll never even consider that the defense will actually just be nothing but sitting back in a super soft zone! It’s brilliant, they’ll never see it coming!!!!

Talk to me after the game. After last weeks debacle anything is possible, especially at RayJay since we have stunk up the joint in recent years. Philadelphia is no pushover especially after last week. Beating them repeatedly is difficult and now with Goedeke out and Vita not 100% we could see a repeat of last week. That would really stink with a short week approaching and an Atlanta team playing at home.

  5. Bucs 95 Says:

Dont matter how much we blitz can they actually bring the QB down 2 sacks is sad going in too week 4 😒

  6. Bucfan1988 Says:

We got a better secondary overall this year.
Eagles missing their top 2 WR’s….

    Send the house against Hurts!!!
Stop the run on the way to the QB.

  7. Kenton Smith Says:

We ought to be running Hainsey and the new guy Klein in, maybe moving Mauch some at right tackle, try to shake up the line a little bit. But timing, and tempo is key to an offense running right. And timing is something we haven’t had the last couple weeks. With changing personnel it’s hard to get that timing. This game tomorrow we’re gonna have to have better performances from our QB and OC though. Bottom line they are responsible for the tempo our offense runs at.

    Still no Winfield

    Still no Kancey

    Still no Goedeke

    Maybe a hobbled Vea?

Color me with little confidence til this team proves otherwise.

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Go Bucs!

  10. Dave Pear Says:

It will be shocking to see Todd surprise everyone and do the unexpected – going to that cover soft 10 yard cushion no pressure bend over pass defense scheme.

    No one would expect it.

  11. ocala Says:

Eagles are banged up too. Both teams are going to have to rely on backup players.

  12. Badbucs Says:

Dave, I thought you had the Magic Eight Ball to Todd’s mind. You must have gotten “reply hazy, try again”. Is he out of protocol? Too funny.
