Rich Gannon Picks The Bucs To Beat Philadelphia

September 28th, 2024

A couple of realities are swirling in the head of former NFL MVP quarterback Rich Gannon.

Gannon admitted to wrestling with his Bucs-Eagles prognostication for Sunday, but he settled on the good guys in pewter and red, he explained on his SiriusXM NFL Radio show.

Gannon sees Eagles QB Jalen Hurts for the turnover machine he’s become. As Gannon noted, Hurts leads NFL quarterbacks in turnovers (26) since the start of the 2023 season and he referenced the Eagles’ and Hurts’ struggles against Todd Bowles’ defenses.

Will Bucs defensive tackle Vita Vea be healthy enough to play? Gannon sees that as a huge X-factor on Sunday, but he envisions Hurts struggling mightily without his best receivers against a steady diet of Bucs blitzes.

“Keep and eye on [third] down, 3rd-and-anything-more-than-3, I like the Bucs,” Gannon said.

Gannon added that he’s impressed by Baker Mayfield completing 74.4 percent of his passes this season and he thinks Mayfield will have a bounceback game while Hurts will be uncomfortable.

After the way Todd inspired his team to go out against Denver and do a Depends commercial without the Depends, anyone with a job to pick teams in public would want a pink slip to pick Todd.

Although Todd is great and I respect Rich Gannon.

I hope he’s right, but i do not think so. Without Vita, I am afraid Barkley will just run up the middle all night long..

Has Vita been ruled out? Last I saw he was questionable. I was thinking he was gonna play. I think this team might surprise us this week. Last week sure was so why not. They are a better team than we are giving them credit for right now. Good teams don’t lose 2 in a row and they are coming off of an emotional win. Last drive win. I still need to see it to get the bad taste out of my mouth. Struggling to believe right now and it feels like the other shoe isn’t even tied.

Dave pear you don’t like Todd for ish do u anything happens to the team it’s Todd’s fault am I correct we lose linemen Todd’s fault we don’t do things right on offense Todd’s fault injuries happens life happens this has been happening to the BUCCS way before he came to Tampa find someone else to blame

  6. Dave Pear Says:

Todd is a great head coach.

The problem is Bowles would have to actually blitz on 3rd down, and not sit back in his soft as toilet paper zone that seemingly no one on our defense is actually good at, despite how often we play it.
