Dancing Bucky Irving (Video)

September 27th, 2024

UPDATED: A sunny Friday at One Buc Palace was made a little brighter.

Rookie sensation running back Bucky Irving wasn’t hesitating on his tweaked hamstring during practice and appears ready to make good on his promise to play Sunday.

The video below is from today, via Greg Auman’s camera.

Irving and Chris Godwin (neck issue) have been critical cogs in the Bucs offense, but both appear ready for Sunday.

Todd Bowles said today that Calijah Kancey (calf) and Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle) will not play. Neither practiced this week. He didn’t rule out any other players. That means right tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion) and Vita Vea (knee) are more likely to suit up against the Eagles than they were yesterday.

We need him. Gap or no Gap he is the better runner. Tired of the excuses. Play the man.

  2. A Bucs Fan Says:

Jalen McMillan hurt his hamstring today at practice and is questionable now for Sunday.

  3. Hodad Says:

Glad he’s good to go, but Bowles won’t give him his first start yet. Todd is slow to make personel changes. He’ll wait till Mauch gets Baker killed before inserting Klien. He’ll watch JTS, and YaYa go sackless some more before giving Braswell, and Watts a start. Just what he does. These next two games are huge. If we hit a losing streak like last year I don’t see us getting right this time.

  4. LakelandBuc Says:

What’s up with all these hamstring injuries? Even the Long Snapper was placed on IR because of an hamstring injury..

  5. Pryda30 Says:

Bro I hope you break 100 yards and a nice TD or 2

  6. Permanently Moderated Says:

I’m still angry over last Sunday’s game. Win early and win often is the key, not accepting lousy play and loses to inferior teams.

  7. LakelandBuc Says:

They should have placed Kancey on IR. And given that roster spot to someone else..

  8. Ed Says:

It is strange that Bowles doesn’t try and rotate more different players. There was been a a trend for him to play veterans that aren’t effective. JTS, Skul and Britt have struggled, how about subbing more to get some higher effort guys on the field?

Eagles media is noting that Bucs weaknesses are-

Bad tackling team. Skule a poor right tackle. Bucs have been bad vs run.

Eagles weaknesses they feel are Hurts turns the ball over and in past vs. Bowles defense has been good at blitz to disrupt passing game.

Eagles will run more than they have because Barkley has been so good and Bucs have been so bad vs run.

Bucs are going to need to put up points, you don’t want to get behind vs their defense. The inside line on Phila is big and strong so Bucs have to shorten up their passing game and take what is there instead of having Baker scrambling around. Get back to what they do best, feed Evans and Godwin to keep the Eagles from stopping their running game.

Bucs have to get 115-125 yards rushing this week to take the off of Mayfield.

  9. Ed Says:

    “heat off Mayfield”

Getting VV50 and LG67 back on the field will make a huge difference in this game! Good to see BI7 moving well! All the backups need to step up like they did week 1! That goes for the coaches too!. Time for the offense to break out and give the beat up defense some breathing room!

  11. infomeplease Says:

This a winnable game! Noe it’s up to the coaches and players to make that happen!! 😎

  12. drdneast Says:

That little video means squat. His hammy wasn’t even involved in the exercise that much.

  13. Bojim Says:

Drd. Try it with a tender hamstring.

  14. DoooshLaRue Says:

Why can’t Rachaad White just mildly tweak his hamstring and maybe miss one game?

  15. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

    Rashad White:
    RB – very poor
    Received – very good

    Bucky:
    RB – good
    Received – good

I’ll take Bucky all day long.

  16. Creamsicle Says:

What is going through Bowles head? They both received the same quality of performance from the O-line and Bucky clearly made the better of it. White couldn’t run up the middle last year and it was supposedly the offensive lines fault, white can’t run up the middle AGAIN this year and it’s still the o-lines fault? Well that dosent seem to be the case because Bucky has had multiple break out runs up the middle. When is he going to start the players that are actually performing instead of the players he “thinks” should be performing. KJ Britt is another example of this. What does he see in this guy??? He claims that he plugs up the gaps but that’s because by the time everyone else takes 5 steps on the field he’s still stuck in the same stop. The dude moves like his feet are stuck in mud. Bowles needs to do what winning coaches do and that’s bench a player when they don’t perform.

  17. Mac Says:

I’m still angry that Winfield got hurt in meaningless minutes of the Commanders game. He should of never been on the field with the game in check. Bowles should know better!

  18. Defense Rules Says:

Creamsickle … I’m sure that both Bowles & Coen want to win every game, and are putting what they believe is the best starting lineup on the field. Not sure why they’ve preferred Rachaad over Bucky in these first 3 games, but maybe it has something to do strategies we’re not considering.

Example: Who’s the better blocker? Do the play selections early call for having a RB available as a checkdown? Are they trying to wear down the opposing DLine by using the bigger runner early in the game? I don’t know the answer to any of those questions, but I do wish that someone in the media would explore WHY Rachaad is getting the start over Bucky. Man, if only we knew someone with media credentials who could ask the coaching staff questions like that.

  19. Creamsicle Says:

    Defense rules-

Good point on the pass protection, and wearing the dline down.As far as the check downs tho I feel like Bucky could be just as effective with those. He has great catching ability and I feel like he has a unique style of hiding behind blockers and bursting through gaps. His college tapes prove that. So the only pro I see to having white start over Bucky is the pass protection he provides.

on the other hand, if Bucky can get in the game early and get those long runs in THAT can too wear a d-line out early which could help the entire offense out including white when he does come in to play. I can see both sides of the spectrum but we will never know until it happens.

    Go Bucs!!

  20. Creamsicle Says:

I could be overlooking the fact that Geodeke has been out and being that white does provide better pass protection that could be the reason he’s been getting more snaps. Maybe that will all change when our starting right tackle is back in the game. Curious to see how this games goes Sunday

  21. heyjude Says:

Hope Kancey and Winfield recover soon from their injuries. It’s great that Vita and Luke may play.

Agree with Mac, Winfield should never have been playing at the end of that game. We were all surprised by that.

    Loved the Bucky video!
