Tom Brady: Bucs Rank Third In NFL

September 19th, 2024

“You guys are really good again, Kyle.”

It is said that Tom Brady overanalyzes and overprepares for everything.

So Joe pays a little more attention when Brady ranks teams for FOX Sports. The legendary Bucs quarterback is not the type to have an intern pick his power rankings — and the sound bytes he’ll deliver while naming them.

This week, Brady issued his new top-5 teams list, and the Buccaneers checked in at No. 3!

How bout that!

Brady cited the Bucs winning their “revenge” game in Detroit on Sunday and the big-time play of the defense.

“Defense was the definition of bend-don’t-break. The Lions were 1-of-7 in the red zone. [The Bucs] picked off Goff twice and they played great defense when it mattered most.”

Ranked No. 5 on Brady’s list is the slimy Saints.

The FOX broadcast schedule gets flexible later in the season and Joe sure hopes Brady is called upon to broadcast the Bucs-Saints game in Week 6. That would be a fun listen.

Maybe Tommyboy has decided that he needs to be very nice to the Bucs and show some respect. Maybe he has decided that he needs to speak to some of his media colleagues about the same.

    Very interesting.

  3. Citrus County Says:

Maybe TB looked up and saw a large anvil dangling from a thin wire over his head.

Who cares ? Never liked him, never will.

It’s pretty funny that Tom has to talk Bucs now. Dude wouldn’t approach the subject with a 10ft pole before.

  13. Citrus County Says:

I’m well, thank you. It’s a nice day. An afternoon ride seems like more fun that producing editorial content.

  14. Simeon4HOF Says:

Cue baker to talk more is bout the Goat lol

  15. Citrus County Says:

Ooops, before I head out….I am not actually producing editorial content on this site. Sorry Joe. Joe understands what I mean. There is a big difference between opinion and editorial content.

  16. orlbucfan Says:

Citrus County, you’re a screech! 😂 And stay safe on that ride.

  17. Fan of the South Says:

It’s pretty simple to figure out the Top 5 at this point.. Only other teams 2-0 are Seahawks, Chargers, Steelers. and Vikings. He couldn’t put any of those in the top 5 YET.

Vikings beat the Texans and they will be top 5 after Week 3.

3 Punts, one fumble and one interception in two full games is an impressive offense regardless of who was played. Texans and Bucs are 2-0 and made the list more so because of the Defense.

There are better teams that didn’t make the list because of a loss but will move up as the season progresses.

Don’t get too excited. There’s still 15 more games to be played. There’s one on Sunday. One game at a time please!🏈

  19. Matt_PcAfee Says:

Finally showing us some love! I believe Florio had the same ranking..

  20. SlyPirate Says:

    He has it right …

    1. KC – They are the defending champs. They are #1 until they lose.
    2. BUF – 3 points. BUF was 3 points away from beating KC in the playoffs.
    3. TB – It should be SFO or DET but they’ve lost. TB is the next team up. They should own this spot until they lose

Or unless someone else totally outperforms them … that right now would be the Saints. That said, don’t put any stock in beating CAR. We know who they have as HC.

  21. Sheen Says:

    Tom only calls Cowgirl games

  22. Pewter Power Says:

I’m itching to play the saints. I hate them boys but either they ballin or the nfc east has become the new nfc south. If they are running the niners offense they do have better personnel than they do. I can’t wait until week 6 I hope we’re both undefeated

  23. No Mercy Says:

What is the list stop blue balling me Joe

  24. No Mercy Says:

@Citrus County you caused all the fuss stop dodging simple questions

  25. unbelievable Says:

The simpletons who still think Brady has disrespected the Bucs are just hilarious to me.

Keep being bitter about the GOAT reviving our franchise out of Laughstocksville and helping us win a Super Bowl!

  26. Gipper Says:

Brady just another guy who observes the trend. Would be more impressed if he had identified Bucs as third best in NFL prior to week 1. There isn’t a lot of true analysis going on in many places. What passes for “analysis” whether it is picking stocks or winning football teams is just those who I identify momentum. Same is true with Mayfield. He was just a “ journeyman” by those to lazy to see his real talent. After 21 games with Tampa he is graduating from “middling” toward good, franchise QB. Next stop is Top 6 whether that is elite is open for debate. One thing for certain is Tampa would not trade Mayfield
today for DeShaun Watson. Absolutely certain about that. Browns management has a lot of egg on their faces.

  27. Fred McNeil Says:

It’s a might early for truly ranking teams just yet, but it did bring a smile to my face. Thanks Tom. The team we beat in week one won in week two. The Lions are one of the top teams in the league. If we crush the Broncos like a drum more people will start taking notice.

  28. Dom Says:

    @Gipper

He said Baker had the best week 1 performance in a similar type video last week. Now he’s listing the Bucs as a top 3 team which is higher than I think I’ve seen any mainstream outlet. How much more analysis do you expect in a 1 minute clip? Some of yall are bitter for no real reason

Rod, is that you? Lol 🤣

  32. Bucorama76 Says:

Tom is an analyst now and that is his analysis. Pretty much on point. We are 2-0 and had 2 pretty good games, all things to be proud of! We will do what needs to be done to beat the Bronco’s at home on Sunday. Like other fans have said week 6 against the Saints is a big one and will set the tone for the rest of the season. The Offense has been a “B+” so far. Baker gets an “A” easley. The Defence another “A” without a doubt. The only place that gets a “D” is the running game with White. Bucky gets a “B+” and the revamped O line a solid “C+”. How we handle the inevitable slump that we always go into midway thru will decide if we win our 4th NFC south title. This team has the talent and the drive to make it to the superbowl only time will tell if we put it all together or leave it on the field. Go Bucs. Oh by the way, we have the best receiving corps in football peroid.
