They Stole One!

September 15th, 2024

Winning.

If the Bucs were just going to win the games they were expected to win, maybe the Bucs finish 9-8. Would that be enough?

For cushion, the Bucs would have to steal a win they weren’t expected to. Today, the Bucs stole a win. As famed college basketball broadcaster and super Bucs fan Dick Vitale would say, “Unbelievable win! Unbelievable win!”

The Bucs went into the Lions’ den and stole one. All the injuries the Bucs had, with inept blocking of a premier defensive end, with really questionable and shaky playcalling in the fourth quarter, losing one of the best defensive tackles in the game, the Bucs manned up and stole a win over Detroit.

The Bucs are 2-0 with one of the best road wins this franchise has had in a while against a team among the favorites to reach the Super Bowl. The Bucs defense manned up and got awesome play from backups.

Christian Izien, you are the man!

SirVocea Dennis, you ought to be starting.

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Bill Belicheat may not be wrong.

What an absolutely wonderful win!

The Bucs were robbers today. And thank goodness for it.

GREAT TEAM DEFENSE WITH BIG NAMES OUT

  2. Austin Says:

With all due respect. I totally disagree. The Bucs were the better team today. Period.

  3. BucsFan81 Says:

If we ever get healthy the NFL better look out you won’t be able to keep dis respecting us.

  4. firethecannons Says:

Zyon McCollum needs a column for just him, he played damn well!

  5. ElioT Says:

    So proud of this team!

Keep your noses to the grind-stone boys!

    Go Bucs!!!

  6. Austin Says:

SORRY BRITT, SVD IS OUR OTHER STARTER NOW

  7. firethecannons Says:

Defense was gnarly! super well done, they love playing Bowles defense

  8. HC Grover Says:

Bowles Coen connection. Canales was our weak link.

  9. DirtyBucs Says:

I’ll take it. No style points in the NFL. A win is a win.

If you’re a fan, stop with the negativity and complaining. The team will get healthy and improve. Relax.

  10. A Bucs Fan Says:

Bucs look like the real deal this season.

Not happy with the final offensive possessions. They got too cute. Hopefully they fix that for next week.

  11. Matt Says:

YO LICHT ! Nice work bruh

  12. Herbiebuc Says:

Is Luke coming back next week? 5 sacks is crazy

  13. D Says:

Whitehead needs to get the gameball- watch the tape!

  14. Rod Munch Says:

Honestly if Baker can be consistent and just not have so many down weeks, the Bucs low-end will be 9-8.

Baker played a great game today considering how terrible the RT was, who single handedly was blowing up the offense.

Next week is the Broncos, at home, which should be a win – although the fact it’s Payton as HC makes me a tiny (just tiny) bit nervous.

  15. Austin Says:

No games are guaranteed Rod, can’t underestimate anyone

  16. MadMax Says:

Calm the celebrations…we’re stil 0-0 against the next team….LONG road ahead..

    BUT, great job my men….

  17. MadMax Says:

shut up rod…go munch on something

  18. Rod Munch Says:

Skule needs to be cut, why would you ever trust him ever again to play anything? He’s truly a terrible player. Couldn’t block anyone in the preseason either. I don’t care if he knows the offense, he single handedly blew-up the offense. Cut him, get someone off a practice squad, off the street, move Hainsey back to tackle, anything, but Skule needs to be off this roster completely – no practice squad, nothing, he’s not an NFL talent.

  19. ATLBuc Says:

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Freaking Go Bucs> My undefeated prediction is still good

  20. heyjude Says:

This was such a big win in their house. Loving it all. The Bucs fought till the end. Great job!

  21. Srqbuc Says:

The upmost respect for the defense. Those guys played lights out in the red zone. Better but some respect on the bucs linebackers and secondary. Bowls saw something in Zion and I think we started to see it too this game.

  22. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Unbelievable win! Fought damn hard and clawed out a monster win!!

Way to go Bucs! Licht – you are the absolute man!

  23. Bakerfan Says:

Bucs beat a team which many consider a Top 5 team. NOW WHAT TALKING HEADS???

  24. ReeeBarrr Says:

Big win! Credit to the players, and to Bowles. What a great management of the team

  25. Tucker Says:

They didn’t steal anything they won because the bucs are a good team. Go bucs!! Yeah baby

  26. Hopein1hand… Says:

Donnie Smith is keeping his phone charged and close. It’s like that. Skule should go the way of that Comanche kicker I hope. Great win but there is as gravitous a hole in the OL depth.

  27. Pewter Power Says:

Skule was a 6th round pick for a reason and he’s stealing money from the Glazers. Licht will be scared to cut him even though Hainsey played right tackle in college

  28. Dan Says:

Gotta give credit to Bowles, no matter who was asked to play defense they stepped up as a unit and delivered over and over again. Love the fight they showed today.

    YES! Love it.

Just move Wirfs back to RT for a game or two if needed.

    Thats the answer.

  30. Dave Pear Says:

Drule shouldn’t even be let on the team flight home. Make him take an oxcart to Canada.

  31. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Jason Licht take a bow… The defensive depth was outstanding. This is a home grown contender we have in Tampa. Now go find another RT. Go Bucs!

  32. Permanently Moderated Says:

Great defense today. Especially at the end. Cardiac Bucs Deja Vu all over again.

  33. Matt_PcAfee Says:

    We do have depth!

  34. Thisisouryear!! Says:

They were great today, especially being depleted in the trenches. It’s easy to throw stones at Skule, but Hutchinson made Wirfs look bad the few times I saw him go against him. I know Luke shut him down in the playoffs but there’s a reason Hutchinson is one of the best in the league.

  35. Brandon Says:

The officials blew a clear scoop and score play dead and called it an incomplete pass. That game should not have been that close. The referees blew a call.

  36. Biff Barker Says:

    What a team win!

Front office, coaching staff and players exceeded all expectations.

  37. Rich Says:

McCollum vs Davis? I’ll take Zyon….he was awesome today…better in this game than Davis ever was…congrats to the entire team for a Great, Great win!!!
Only thing that’s bothering me is Coens stubbornness on protection.

  38. Hodad Says:

YaYa no sacks, JTS no sacks? That’s not good. I’ll have to rewatch, but making a play to me would be a sack to end the game. I guess JTS made some other plays.

  39. dbbuc711 Says:

Hated that they weren’t getting much pressure on Goff. He seemed to be taking all the time he wanted.

  40. Nick Says:

You aren’t lying, Dennis stands out in a huge way on the field. Izien is our super-sub on defense. If we could get our defensive lineman going, this defense could get scary good. I’m very impressed with Bowles during this game, although his conservative nature erks me sometimes.

  41. Rod Munch Says:

Hodad – JTS was getting pressure all over the place, he was good. The issue was the Bucs playing a ton of soft zone, that would tighten up in the red zone but let the Lions move the ball at will outside of the red zone. It worked today, so that’s good. But JTS is literally not a problem at all to anyone who watched the game. Just like last week, he didn’t get a sack, but his tape was dominate.

  42. SlyPirate Says:

Donnie Smith is better than Skule. He’s a good dude. Just a loaf. Sign him.

  43. Dwalk Says:

Wait till Kancey gets back and you have those PITT panthers on all 3 levels of the D to go with Sirvocea and JW
