Raheem Says Browns And Bucs Are On Same Path

September 8th, 2010

If you were yearning for a refresher course on what the Bucs are trying to do with their football team, Raheem Morris explained that in part today when speaking to a Cleveland reporter via conference call.

Joe transcribed the defensive mastermind/head coach’s answer to a media member who essentially asked Morris what he sees in this year’s Browns.

“They’re very similar to what we’re trying to do, as well. They’re in the stage that we’re in, building a lasting contender, getting young players to come in here and develop them, coach them with their guys, coach them with their talent, and have all those guys coming in and form that family unity that we seek and everybody seeks that’s coming from where we come from as far as the turnaround,” Morris said.

Joe much preferred the head coach’s violence and victories talking points last year. This “lasting contender” and “family” chatter sounds more suited to a college softball team.

Joe’s error, so this was fixed and the other comment deleted

Nice to hear Raheem comparing us to the Browns. lol

Thats not Rah talk. Sounds like our PR guy is working out just fine. Although, Rah talk is more raw and real IMO. I just hope this is NOT the the start of hiding stuff like a normal franchise. LOL Normal Rah talk: They have guys, we have guys, it’s a war. You need guys to compete, get after the ball, be violent, win the games. You need more Josh Freemans, Mike Williams and you need more Drew Brees’s. You gotta go out and get the underwear off and put your face on somebody. Thats how you win in this league.

Anyway you get the point. Looks like Rah has a PR.

Oh, come on Joe. I was just kiddin’ man. Didn’t mean to upset ya.

    🙁

Mr. Morris, what you’ve just said… is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Great. Now we’re like the Browns, probably the foremost example of football futility (easily in the top 5).

For anyone claiming the Bucs have little to no chance of doing well this year because they are relying on too many young players to step up and make an immediate impact…. Yahoo Sports just had an article showing the youngest team in the NFL, based on the initial 53 man roster, is NOT the Bucs. No, they’re not even the youngest team in the NFC South. The youngest team in the NFL this year is the Carolina Kitties!!!… yes, that’s right, the team we will play 2 times this year is younger than we are. They’ve gone from one of the oldest to one of the youngest in one year. I think it said something like 35 of the 53 on the roster were “homegrown”, or Panther draft choices.

Say what you will, but if youth will hurt us this year, it’s gotta be hurting the Panthers just as much. Another comparison? Matt Moore has a whopping 8 starts in his career and his backups have a total of 0 starts, that’s right, no starts for the backups ever. They have one guy on the team with 10 years experience. Sounds a lot like the Bucs QB situation and Steve Smith on offense for them is like Ronde on defense for us. Their defense is not what it was for years against us, it’s a new young defense that is unproven. Only real difference is that we’ve got some rookies that will play, not just be backups.

An addition to the “Panthers youngest team” note above…..

The Panthers starting D-line is returning only one starter from last year. The 4 man front they will have on the field this year combined for a total of 10 sacks between them last year.

No seriously … read what the f… he just said. I mean come on… that one single excerpt of a quote should get the guy fired.

I mean come on… is this guy the guy you truely want running the team??? This ain’t McDonalds…. this the got damn National Football League… a billion dollar frachise! And this guy is the face who gives the message ???

Is it really a question to why there are 30,000 empty seats???

I am seriously wasting my time with this fight… anyone left defending this guy is full of it!

Joe, put me down as number 30,001 (& one). I have had enough of this ’cause for concern’ with Bucs direction.

And to think, the season hasn’t even started yet.

I’ll watch, but as long as Raheem is the coach, I’m 100% done caring… and with the blackouts I may just completely lose interest.

Thanks to college football, there at least is exciting football out there!

See ya all… enjoy Raheem Morris!

Is this a true statement from Coach Morris?

You gotta go out and get the underwear off and put your face on somebody. Thats how you win in this league”

If it is and the rest of it above it i really don’t see any thing wrong with this.

The 2010 Tampa Bay Buccaneers do need to go out and take the (pampers, draws, panties) OFF! Put their collective faces into the other teams and hit someone! Not stopping hitting them until the game is over. That is how you win in the NFL!!

    He is correct!
Every team knows this, yet we criticize it…
I agree Cleveland is in the same boat as us New GM, New coach New players, with something to prove… just like US!

Give better than ye got guys! Good luck!
    Go Bucs!

So, Javier from WhyMomma, could it be you are saying you really really dont like Morris? dont want to give him a chance this year? before the season even starts? Too bad – I am looking forward to an improved team that will probably be making mistakes due to its inexperience but believe it will be exciting to watch. Guess I’m just an optimist.

  13. eric Says:

when does that lasting contender stuff kick in?

  14. BigMacAttack Says:

Reach out and punch somebody, right upside the head. And don’t forget to hit the QB late and pile on every chance you get.
