Blacked Out Games Available On NFL.com
September 9th, 2010Bucs fans who can’t go to the game Sunday, can’t take advantage of The Blackout Tour, there is hope.
The Bucs games will be streamed (legally) on NFL.com beginning at midnight.
Mike Florio, the creator, curator and overall guru of NFL.com decided to put on his Edward R. Murrow hat and had a nice piece of information that the NFL will repeat what it did last year, offering — for free! — blacked out games some 11 hours after kickoff.
Last year, with the threat of a high number of lockouts looming, the NFL modified its blackout policy. All blacked out games were available in the local markets on a tape-delayed basis, via NFL.com.
Starting at midnight, the blacked out games were available for 72 hours, with the exception of the three-or-so hours of Monday Night Football.
NFL spokesman Dan Masonson tells us that the league will apply the same approach in 2010. Thus, if our friends in Tampa can find a way to avoid all media for 11 hours after kickoff of the Bucs’ home game against the Browns, the Week One contest can be viewed on NFL.com as if from scratch.
There you have it. No need to monkey with some crappy Internet connection from Hong Kong streaming in a poor video quality of the game with many buffering delays. NFL.com will have the game available in sweet HD online.

How do we sign up for this? I can’t find it on NFL.com?
And how much is it? Because to be honest…I’m pretty much broke.

Sorry Pete….Game Pass isn’t for the broke, $200 for just the Bucs or $279 for every game.

If it says it’s not available in your area, it is…Just keep messing with it. ‘Cause i watch it from South Korea everything is banned here, except Game Pass =) thank god.

Game Pass is for those outside the United States. Blacked out games will be rebroadcast 11 hours after kickoff.
Just monitor NFL.com this weekend for details.

if we have to go to nfl.com we would see the scores instantly so what would be the point of watching it then there is no way you log into nfl.com on sunday at midnight and not see the score ill stick to live stream

ok, so its kinda early and im easily confused, but anyways.. so it says its going to be available in ‘local markets’ so will this guy, living in Iowa, be able to watch the games at midnight then on nfl.com? idc if i know the score i just wanna watch the games.

Bucc Fan In Hawkeye Country:
If you live in Iowa you are not affected by the blackouts at all.

Ha yeah well unless i go out to Wild Wings or somewhere. theyre basically blacked out.. Round here i get to watch the Lions… Bears… Vikings… Packers.. and if I’m lucky.. the Rams.. Buccs arent too high on TV priorities around here unfortunately

So joe….It shouldn’t effect me on Game Pass should it? I should be able to watch it live?

Amar:
Joe has no idea how the international online viewing thing works. If you are actually in Korea, and not trying to pull a fast one from, say, South Carolina, you should be safe.
September 9th, 2010 at 10:07 am
Joe,
Do you know if there are any other teams that will have to be blacked out in their respective market for Week 1? Just curious if TB was the only one.
September 9th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Yeah Joe lol, I am really in South Korea….(USAF).
Been following your site for at least a year now and my-has this site picked up! Each post would have about 5 comments er so at most back when I first started visiting your page and now most of the time it’s like 50+ for each post….joebucsfan.com is definitely on the map!
I am pretty sure I will be able to catch the bucs game live on game pass because I believe the Jags @ Bucs game was blacked out and I was able to watch it live.
So hopefully I don’t miss out!

To the best of Joe’s knowledge, Tampa Bay is the lone market.
September 9th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
Amar, I thought all the NFL games were streamed to the military?
September 9th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
Only stateside Pete…Overseas we have AFN and we only get whatever games the broadcasters donate. (one for each time frame, afternoon, evening and prime time.)
September 9th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
…And that’s if we’re lucky.
September 9th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
I only see NFL rewind available on NFL.com and it costs $49.99 to see games after they have been played. Is this different than this free streaming available in a blacked out market. I am new to this dillema since the Bucs have not had a regular season black out since Gas was 99 cent a gallon. LOL

Be patient jaytek24. The NFL has higher priorities than Brownies-Bucs (such as tonight’s game). It will be there.
