Todd Bowles Addresses Energy Roller Coaster

August 2nd, 2024

Yesterday, Joe thought the Bucs looked a little flat overall. Today, was a bit different in multiple ways.

Joe asked Todd Bowles whether he liked his team’s energy level after today’s second consecutive broiling practice.

“I thought today we had a little more energy; we had a lot more mistakes, too,” Bowles replied. “So we didn’t have as much energy yesterday but we were focused. We were focused at times today, but way too many mistakes.”

It’s Aug. 2. Joe can’t say the Bucs looked crisp on offense, but they certainly don’t look bad, either.

As for the defense, Joe is starting to get annoyed. And it’s not the fault of the defense or Bowles. While guys are going hard in pads, they’ve not been permitted to tackle and it’s challenging to assess running backs’ abilities to break tackles, especially through the trenches.

I imagine Yaya going down might have impacted alot of the guys on the team mentally add that on top of the monotony that comes with repping the same things day in and day out. It ebbs & flows, I’d prefer them practice and preserve their collective health over ripping each other apart the next few weeks, save some of that for the Jags and our preseason schedule. Health is wealth, if anybody know that it should be this fandom.

8 days until Preseason Game 1 vs Bengals.

I usually don’t care about preseason games but we have so many promising young players that I can’t wait to see who stands out.
