Jordan Whitehead Sits Out With A Sore Quad

August 1st, 2024

Injuries are piling up at One Buc Palace.

No practice today for starting safety Jordan Whitehead. He sat out with a sore quad, per head coach Todd Bowles.

Yesterday, the Buccaneers lost guard Sua Opeta, who was competing for a starting gig with Ben Bredeson. (Joe will have more on that today.) Running back Chase Edmonds hasn’t practiced this summer with an undisclosed injury.

And the kick-in-the-gut news of YaYa Diaby going down with what looked liked a significant ankle injury came late this morning.

New rule… when the team is healthy we don’t mention it. Kinda like when a pitcher is throwing a no hitter the team doesn’t say a single word to him because they don’t want to jinx it.

It’s almost like talking about how healthy and relatively injury-free this team was last year was a bad omen or something…

Oh no again, 3 times now. Hope this is it since things usually happen in threes. Feeling the same as WiscoJoe, don’t want to jinx it again.
