[UPDATE: 3:37 p.m.] Today is the day!
Yes, by tonight we will know when the Bucs will play each of their 17 regular season games. Awesome!
Bucs fans can finally finalize plans for the fall, based on road games they may want to enjoy or, of course, home games at The Licht House.
[UPDATE: 3:37 p.m.] Paul Schwartz of the New York Post has the Bucs traveling to New Jersey to face the Giants Week 12.
[UPDATE: 2:54 p.m.] Per Matt Verderame of SI.com, Week 6 the Bucs go on the road to play the slimy Saints.
[UPDATE: 1:10 p.m.] Per Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Bucs host Jayden Daniels and Washington Week 1.
Some highlights of the road opponents:
Dallas: Brisket. Need Joe say more? Oh, and Jerry’s World is awesome. Nothing like nursing a good bourbon from the marble-lined bars in the place. And you literally have to force yourself not to watch the game on that bigger-than-big screen TV.
Detroit: Um, well, Annie Agar lives half the year in Michigan, doesn’t she? Perhaps one may catch a glance of Christen Harper. So there’s that.
New York: C’mon, it’s New Yawk! If you can’t find a good time there, you can’t find one anywhere. Of course, if you don’t feel like getting stabbed in the subway or beaten up waiting for the light at the crosswalk, there are always the colorful folks and eateries in SopranosLand near Met Life Stadium.
Kansas City: The last time the Bucs played there Jameis Winston made the loudest stadium in the NFL quiet as hell. If Dallas has the brisket, Kansas City has the ribs (though Joe’s BBQ in Kansas City, Kan. has the second-best burnt ends Joe has ever eaten). The National World War I Museum is way underrated. And by all means, do drink the Boulevard Beer Pale Ale. Thank Joe later. The tailgaters in Kansas City do it up right.
Los Angeles: If you can’t find fun in Los Angeles, you ain’t livin.’
Atlanta: The absolute easiest stadium to get to for Bucs fans. Ultimate one-day road trip. Fly Southwest early in the morning for the very quick flight up to Atlanta, take the train straight from the airport to the stadium and reverse field after the game for the very short flight home. Don’t even have to get in an Uber or rent a hotel room.
Carolina: Never been to a Bucs game there. No joke. So, can’t comment.
New Orleans: What can Joe say? World-class restaurants. World-class food (Joe’s go-to joint is the Gumbo Shop on Rue St. Peter, two blocks from Jackson Square and three blocks from Cafe Du Monde). World-class music scene. Bars that never close. The National World War II Museum is a must if there on a Saturday (set aside four hours). You can tailgate on Bourbon Street and walk to the dome. Culture. History. Architecture. Entertainment. Dining. If for some reason you don’t want to see a Bucs game in New Orleans, you have no soul. Aside from Munich and possibly Washington, hands down Joe’s absolute favorite Bucs road trip.

Can confirm about the BBQ in Kansas city, Kansas. Grammy lives in Overland Park, and I have been to my fair share of Chiefs games. That’s where some good BBQ is. Might be part of the reason Andy Reid took the job, cuz it’s so close to Kansas 🤣

New York – Yes, so much to do there. Haven’t been on the subway for awhile but used to love it while visiting. Dallas – Yes too. And if you have time, they have a Bucees outside of Dallas now. Atlanta – Unsure about this now, but I think they have the cheapest food at their stadium vs others. On an entirely different location – MD. So much there too and DC being close. MD has so many great places to eat, parks, Patapsco for one, and so much more. Museums in DC. Enjoyable trip but not to see the Commanders.

Went to BoA Stadium in Charlotte a couple of years ago for a College Football Kickoff game. Had an absolute blast. Easy access. Before and After parties readily available everywhere. Good people in the Carolinas. Of course I wasn’t wearing my 55 on an NFL game day either.

At one point in the past, I went to 11 Bucs games in a row at Carolina with my son while he was a young’un. It’s exactly a four hour drive south from mi casa. The Carolina crowd is super laid back and very hospitable. I was offered a beer on more than one occasion whilst wearing an orange Bucs jersey. There is no stadium parking however, as it is in the middle of downtown. You gotta walk from the hotel or catch an Uber.

Most of our opponents cities are places i would not go to on a bet even for a one day visit. It has gotten that bad.

Eagles
49ers
Cowboys
Lions
Chiefs
Raiders are going to be much improve and Chargers can be dangerous.
Plus Saints and Falcons twice….
That does not look weak to me.

Dallas was awesome in 2022 week 1
Dallas Live is an amazing sports bar/entertainment area. Bucs fans were invading that place as well as the Fort Worth area all weekend long. The stock yards in Fort Worth had an amazin steakhouse and Dallas fans were a lot more hospitable than Aints fans.

It’s all based on win percentage of opposing teams. When you had two games in the mix of a team with a win percentage of .118 (CARx2) in 2023 it’s going to
lower that number and appear easier.

I can’t see playoffs with this schedule as of today. Now they’re still going to be trades in during training camp and then you have injuries as well. But as for now this is 6 to 7 wins . I’m almost ready to talk about the 2025 draft class lol 🤣 this is a hard schedule. This got to be the hardest schedule in the NFL regardless of what the media say !!

DCone a better way to judge a teams strength of schedule is to go by the Vegas projected win total for each team. Use it for fantasy football because Vegas is right more than most

If the leaked schedule is correct we have 3/4 at home to start the season 4/5 on the road after the bye and the last 2 games at home. with both SB teams back to back before the bye

Charlotte is a good place to see the Bucs…….Carolina fans are actually quite polite. Parking is a bi*ch. Stadium has no charisma. We usually win.

If Geno’s schedule for the Bucs is holds true….That’s a tough draw 10-7 roll of the dice, considering the the ball bounces into a couple flip flop divisional games followed by Hell Month, including serious ALT trap game – boxed in between MNF BAL & @KC / VsSF before the Bye week
I look at that schedule & see a few things troubling:
1) WAS’s Jayden Daniels out the gate…Bowles has a way of allowing Rookie QB’s to look like HOF gamebreakers against the Bucs.
2) Lose to WAS & Bucs have a real chance to be 1-3 entering 2 pivotal Divisional matchups wk5-6. (Have to beat the Rookie wk1 to believe 4-2 is even possible)
3) Bucs need to dominate the NFC South from start to finish & there’s no 2 ways about it. Bucs might just have a roster that can do that, if injuries are minimal!
4) Regardless how good/bad the NFC South rivals are…Bucs going to face a murders row of SB contenders if they going to get to the promised land. DET, PHI, BAL, KC, SF, DAL…Plus an improved LAC team under Harbough & Daboll with that NYC never sleeps nightlife for players to contend with.
5) WKs 7-10 would define the trajectory of 2024 season…As either Bucs find a way to split that stretch (or better), or Bucs enter the Bye with a suboptimal W-L record & questions galore for the second half.
6) Coen has a real opportunity to set himself up for a HC gig in 2025, if the Bucs find a way to go 10-7 (or better) & win a game in the Playoffs…Because that schedule is littered with “deep run” Playoff teams & the defending SB champs…A bunch of well ran organizations…If his Baker’s Dozen offensive attack is successful against a legit – earn it – measuring stick schedule…That will get Coen noticed next cycle.

The perception outside of Tampa Bay is Baker Mayfield is average at best. The perception by those same people is that one-primetime-win Kirk Cousins is a star.
Since Tom Brady retired, the Bucs, despite their success, just have no buzz nationally.

Agree about Atlanta. It’s all about the QB for sure. The sports media and the NFL went bonkers when Cousins was signed. It was like they had the 2nd coming of the goat, but he isn’t the Goat. Where are his SB rings? And then Penix was drafted. Not that I don’t like Cousins. He is a good guy. But the sports media gets fixated on certain players and they fizzle out. Let the sport analysts ignore us again. The Bucs will show them again.
