Determined Sean Tucker
April 8th, 2024If workout videos mean anything, then Sean Tucker will break out this year.
Joe hopes he has a dynamite training camp. Having production in the worthless preseason games might help as well.
Last year Tucker was thought to be the steal of the rookie undrafted free agents. Tucker did not get drafted because he was found to have a heart condition.
Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht was able to pluck Tucker off the scrap heap, though the Syracuse product could not participate in any football activities until training camp.
Tucker played in the first three games of the regular season. And if you thought Rachaad White struggled, Tucker made White look like Tony Dorsett. Tucker averaged 1.53 yards a carry.
He never carried the ball again, landing clearly in the penthouse of Todd Bowles’ doghouse.
Licht, speaking of Tucker at the combine, was blunt. “He needs to take a big step.”
Tucker has risen from a months-long social media hibernation to publish workout videos.
These videos do prove one thing: Tucker seems determined to jump-start his very young NFL career. To be fair, the fact Tucker couldn’t workout last offseason due to his heart may have stunted his NFL growth.
If Tucker can’t stick with the Bucs this summer, it appears he will go down swinging.
The strong will survive…

Pretty cool video. More interested in actual game field stuff.

Sean Tucker “breaking out” would be a HUGE bonus. Kinda like getting a free high draft pick out of the blue.
April 8th, 2024 at 9:17 am
Didn’t know the playbook?
April 8th, 2024 at 9:23 am
“Having production in the worthless preseason games might help as well.” You contradicted your belief in “worthless” preseason games with this one sentence Joe. Or are you just trying to trigger me?

Fingers crossed 🤞

That video is impressive. By both athlete and videographer. Lots of really difficult-to-do well-done exercises. Professional quality edits. I’m really rooting for this guy. I believe it was his pass pro holding him back last year. It’s common for rookie RBS.
April 8th, 2024 at 9:32 am
Transformed his body, now he’s gotta transform his brain to learn this new offense and be productive. Pass-pro improvements will actually help him see the field as a rusher. So if he’s working on that stuff just as much, look out.

He had great college film and had my hopes up. Would be awesome because we need better RB/run game production period.
Can’t be worst in the league every year lol

🙂

Tucker never really caught up from missing camp. He struggled with pass pro and the speed of defenses.
He will improve the pass pro this camp. When running with the ball, he took bad angles thinking he could out-speed a defender – but he couldn’t. He needs a lot of snaps in preseason games and in the scrimmages with other teams. Then he’ll adapt to the speed of defenders and how to make people miss in the NFL.

Pulling for him.
April 8th, 2024 at 10:20 am
I agree with Beeej, Tucker did not know the playbook. This slows down a player tremendously. He had no muscle memory and had to think before each move. Tucker could be the most improved player this year.

Impressive vid….it just needs to translate to the game day stuff
April 8th, 2024 at 10:34 am
But can he stand in the 4ft depth of a pool and jump out onto the ground??
April 8th, 2024 at 11:27 am
Pretty impressive stuff in that video. Let’s hope that translates to improved on-field performance.
April 8th, 2024 at 11:27 am
Sorry MadMax, you beat me to it!
April 8th, 2024 at 11:28 am
Props to him, hoping the hard work pays off.
April 8th, 2024 at 11:29 am
Believe it when I see it……Kenny Bell was the next Randy Moss in training camp remember?
April 8th, 2024 at 11:36 am
I’m really pulling for this kid. Wouldn’t it be something if he had a breakout year and became part of the running back rotation.
April 8th, 2024 at 11:58 am
I still hope we use one of or 3rd round picks on a between the tackles RB like a Braelon Allen
April 8th, 2024 at 12:19 pm
I’m cheering for him.
That said, he’s one of the college guys that could run through a 5 yard wide hole.
In the NFL it’s simple. He sucks. He’s awful. Waste of a roster spot even with 90 players allowed in camp.

Man – that shot with his shirt off shows that Tucker is rocked up big time.
This guy has a combination of speed and strength that you just don’t see very often.
5′-9 1/2″ – 209 lbs
Legit 4.3 speed – former track star – state champion in 55M, 100M and 200M
38″ vertical jump
29 bench press reps – again TWENTY NINE reps!
If Sean Tucker can merge all the mental aspects of the game with those almost unbelievable physical attributes….. Look Out
April 8th, 2024 at 12:39 pm
It would be awesome to have a dynamic, could go the distance, anytime, running back for once.
Would love to see him and White as a 1-2 punch
April 8th, 2024 at 12:41 pm
That box jump was impressive.
Would love to see this kid turn into something this year
April 8th, 2024 at 12:46 pm
HELL YA!
Running, catching and PRACTICING BLOCKING!!!
Grind and go get yours ST.
April 8th, 2024 at 1:58 pm
Kinda gives ya Nick Chubb vibes from the workout perspective…hope it shows on the field
April 8th, 2024 at 2:12 pm
I am pretty sure he will have a better shot this year.
April 8th, 2024 at 2:42 pm
I have no idea what people see in this guy. Said so last year, watching his film, he just looks like a basic north/south runner and not much else. Watching him with the Bucs, he looked like a basic north/south runner and not much else.
Sometimes those guys, if they play special teams, can stick around. So if I’m Tucker, I’m spending my time learning how to tackle.
April 8th, 2024 at 4:20 pm
He can take JTS roster spot. It’s about time they got rid of that guy he’s terrible and shouldn’t be in the NFL

Not sure what you’re looking at Rod. Rojo was a north/south runner. This kid has some hops.
April 8th, 2024 at 6:32 pm
I’m hoping that he can make the team and earn his way on to the field this year. He’s got good hands, so pretty versatile as well. I’m interested to see if/how he fits into the Coen offensive scheme.
April 8th, 2024 at 7:16 pm
It would be a gift if this guy became a legit NFL player this year. We need RB depth.
April 8th, 2024 at 9:13 pm
Pulling for this dude. Could be a big plus and a compliment to White.
Also pulling for Joe to cover this kind of thing more. Less Ian Beckles, more players we don’t talk about much.
April 9th, 2024 at 6:25 am
He was doing some pretty advanced workouts, I say he takes over rb1. You heard it here first.
April 9th, 2024 at 6:55 am
Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth
April 9th, 2024 at 7:24 am
Good luck to this young man. Respect for putting in the work.
April 9th, 2024 at 9:39 am
Heard a report that his problem was he sucked at picking up the blocks from rushers in the backfield, can’t pass protect, can’t play running back.
April 9th, 2024 at 7:02 pm
If ST can make an impact on the field, then all the Bucs fans will be pulling for him!! New year… New season.
