Is Lavonte David Tipping His Plans Without Tipping His Plans?

February 22nd, 2024

Social media video a hint?

Joe came across Bucs intrigue last night gawking at chicks surfing through Instagram for any morsel of Bucs tidbits. And Joe found a lead.

One of the biggest mysteries of this offseason is what pending free agent inside linebacker Lavonte David do? His position coach, Larry Foote, put out on Instagram hours after the season ended that David was going to start a ministry.

It seemed to be a possible  hint that David, 34, had played his final snap in the NFL.

So let Joe ask this: Most personal trainers who work with professional or college athletes post videos of their clients on social media as a marketing effort to lure other clients.

“Wow, if this guy trains NFL and non-basketball association players, he might help me lose 70 pounds 15 pounds so I will look better for the ladies.”

Down in Miami Lakes a guy by the name of Miggy Molina owns a training center, Movement Lab Training. On Molina’s Instagram stories feed last night was video of one of his clients stretch. It’s David. In late February.

You can see the video on Molina’s Instagram Stories account.

David is one of a few football players Molina highlighted (the video below is edited to only highlight David).

This video sure smells like retirement may not coming this year for the Bucs icon.

Is David getting back in shape to play for the Bucs or a new team? Answer: To be determined.

LVD needs to give it 2 more seasons. He’ll finish top 3-4 in tackles, tackles for a loss, and likely top 7 in forced fumbles.

Come on LVD! Force them to put you in the HOF.

  2. SB Says:

If LVD doesn’t come back and plays elsewhere….I will lose a great deal of faith in this organization. That is saying a lot from a fan since 75!

  3. SB Says:

    BTW……..Luke WHO?

  4. Jack Clark Says:

LVD is our best linebacker, but even though he is great, it is obvious that defensive linemen are far more important than linebackers and defensive backs.

  5. RGA Says:

David will either play here with the Bucs or retire. If he retires and not resigning Devin White, suddenly linebacker is at the top of the Bucs wishlist in free agency or the draft.

  6. RGA Says:

Britt will man one position, he played well filling in for White. Do the Bucs believe in 5th round draft pick Dennis? He was injured early which stunted his growth.

  7. MadMax Says:

Blow the whole thing up!!! They dont want to sign with us? f m!

Trade down into the 2nd….C Powers….next 2nd, LB Trotter jr

3rd (trade up) WR Xavier Legette

    4th QB Michael Pratt

Pratt and pray or start Trask

Find a 5th somewhwere and get the best big guy run up the gut RB (probably wont have anymore picks after that)

Yeah, we’re gonna suck…so what, we’re used to it. High draft pick next year for a QB!!

  8. garro Says:

Joe 15 lbs? South Beach would be in awe of us!

If I tried what David was doing I would fall over and probably face plant into the dumbell losing half my grill in the process! LOL

    Go Bucs!

    Not stretching.

LVD doing RDLs. One leg Superman RDLs. IMO it’s the single best exercise for an athlete.

2 years. 20 million. Fully guaranteed!

David and Evans are Bucs legends!

    F the money.

    Set a precedent.

Reward our hard working legends who never gave up! Even during all of the embarrassing losses!

David and Evans are Bucs royalty!

  11. BucU Says:

Man I love Lavonte. He’s a world class football player and an even better human being. Whatever he decides to do I’ll always look up to #54.

  12. Allbuccedup Says:

    Maybe time to move on.

  13. adam from ny Says:

yeah if lavonte pulls a ronde barber, he just might kinda force them into putting him in the hof…

but then again he already knows that…

longevity might just get him in, and out do all those years they ignored him when the franchise wasn’t being highlighted on any level…

he’s gonna really have to grind it out for a few years for the hall imho…

also they gotta pay the man…he played really well last year with half-azz play by his cohort all season

  14. Todd Says:

    $5.4MM guaranteed for three years!

  15. George R Says:

Teacherman777, you do realize there is a salary cap. The Bucs said F the money and spent money like it was 2 for 1 lap dance at Mons Venus. Now the Bucs are still dealing with cap issues from dead money a void year in contracts.

  16. Todd Says:

    Per year.

  17. gofortheface30 Says:

Our “legends” have already been rewarded by being compensated handsomely. The Bucs technically do not owe anyone anything and should not/do not have an obligation to use cap predicated on emotion/nostalgia or whatever other justification or basis fans use to justify their reasoning to make bad business decisions like teacherman

  18. D Cone Says:

Lot of Talk of Evans going Home to Texans. What deep throw threat would not want to play with a QB that is consistent on deep throws?

Miami is in need of Depth at Linebacker and David might want to be back Home too. Dolphins will make a play for David and could offer him a sweet two year deal.

  19. Bucnjim Says:

Almost all the Bucs players who are free agents have made over $50 Million already in their careers. Some $100 Million! Not saying they didn’t deserve it or don’t deserve another huge contract, but no one here should feel bad about any business decisions made by the organization. All of these guys will be fine now and in the future.

    Good info. Thanks!

  23. David Says:

I do not understand why there is any suspicion of retirement. He has not indicated that and did not look like he lost a step last year. Why would we not assume he is playing another 1-2 years?

  24. EternalSon Says:

    Big fan of Lavonte!

    Hope he returns

    GO BUCS!!!
