I’m confident Canales will go back to wasting first and second down running between the tackles and Baker Mayfield sorry as only scoring 14 points

and we are confident that you are single and bitter.
I concede the Bucs have been Jekyl and Hyde. They are the youngest team in the league with new OC, OL, yadda yadda.
Regardless of the reasons nobody, not even we fans with the rose colored glasses can deny the Bucs have been WILDLY inconsistent…from awesome in Green Bay, to kicking N.O’.s butt in their own house to the win over the Eagles.
What I do not understand Jack is with the glass at minimum half full…the Bucs have won the Division…advanced past the first round of the playoffs avoided the dreaded one and done and they’re coming off their most impressive win of the season.
And yet you post you are CONFIDENT that the OC will screw it up again.
AGAIN I concede that POSSIBILITY…but we’ve also seen the POSSIBILITY revealed in the Philly, Green Bay games and you choose to be confident in failure rather than success?
Fan is of course short for FANatic. Fans support their teams when they WIN.
How much winning do you need before you become a “fan” again?
Please nobody misunderstand. Everybody is obviously free to cheer for the Bucs and critique them the way they wish. I’m not here to lecture about how to be a fan, this is an honest question.
I get the deserved criticism but why assume…much less be CONFIDENT that the Bucs will suck? I’m a fan! I also have eyes and realize the possibility is that the Bucs come out like they did in the 2nd N.O, game and get their hats handed to them. But I’m surely not EXPECTING it!
I’ve got to give Todd Bowles, his staff and players credit for advancing to the second round. At this point, they already beat everybody’s expectations. GO BUCS !!!!
After watching the exact same phenomena for two straight years, under two different offensive coordinators running two different offenses, I am convinced that there is an offensive philosophy being imposed by the head coach upon his coordinators. One exciting game now and then, during which it seems that he takes the shackles off of the offensive playcaller, does not constitute a change in that philosophy. I need to see the offense open up for multiple consecutive weeks to convince me that he has changed his ways.
My vote hasn’t changed all year. Little confidence.
For a team that was picked to finish dead last in the NFL, I’m shocked 25% Little Confidence. I don’t particularly like Bowles, but that’s an unfair grade.

Because they’ve kept getting my hopes up just to disappoint me all season, from our 3-1 start, to our epic meltdown loss to the Texans, to putting up 30 points in two straight games against playoff contenders, to going back to only scoring 9 points in must win games against the Saints and the worst team in the league Carolina panthers. Trust is earned over a long time of consistency, and the Bucs have not earned it. I assume the Bucs will suck because that lessen the disappointment I feel after they lose. But if they win, great, I’m as happy as any other long time Bucs fan. Go Bucs!
I hear you and completely understand. I’m am the blog pollyanna perhaps even the inspiration for #TEAMPOSITIVE. That of course was being used for snark for those of us who simply refused to give up hope.
But I certainly understand the human emotions in responding to disappointment and suspect that you are probably in the majority.
One of my favorite lines in the movies comes from Shawshank Redemption and very clearly expresses my take on life.
“Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”
Meh, this site and others like it exist as a profit making entity. You can’t get clicks if everyone agrees. The more ire stirred up means more “fans” and “detractors” coming back to read, re read and that sells adverts. Some of these posters seem sort of designed to create conversation and instigate looks. I am all for it. I’ll keep clicking. I’ll root for the Bucs to keep winning. But the thought that some of these wildly pro/neg posts are just static isn’t always too far away in my mind.
A fan also cheers and backs what/whoever when they stumble. It’s called loyalty and support. That’s me. I also know that my faith is being rewarded. I voted very confident. Bucs are gonna be killer next year, regardless of what goes down Sunday. Yeah, Tampa Bay!!!!!!!!!!!
With 8 openings for HCs now, there’s no point in creating a ninth. We’d just get another retread or an unproven coordinator. Assuming the Bucs re-sign Mayfield, there’s probably a benefit to continuity.
Bucs fans are a fickle lot. And that includes me. Add some more pieces to this team and next year they could be really dangerous. Guard, TE, Pass Rush.
I havent been impressed with a single win yet. They all have been against teams that are either bad, horribly injured or on a losing streak from you know where. I still have zero confidence in this team and coach. However, I will say a win this week against a good team on their turf will force me to change my mind. Prove me wrong Bucs. I dare ya!!
I’ve been confident this whole season and have never wavered. Your confidence in someone shouldn’t go up and down like the stock market, if it does, it means you were wrong. I’m rarely wrong and I wasn’t wrong when I stated in preseason that this was a 10+ win team.
I have been confident all season long in the ability of the team/players to win any and every game. Top to bottom, we have the talent to beat any team in the NFL.
This, however, is not a team confidence poll, it’s a Todd Bowles confidence poll.
Sorry, Todd has not yet earned my confidence.
He did show in the last game that he CAN flex a little and show some aggression on offense. For this (for me) he has advanced from zero confidence to little confidence. He has done this a couple of times this season, only to regress back to his overly conservative, handcuffed offensive scheme.
When he CONSISTENTLY lets our offensive talent do what they can do, he will earn my confidence.
I am confident that Bowles CAN be a championship “franchise” head coach.
IF, he grows his mindset to recognize that sometimes, “The best defense is a good offense”.
And (IMO) those that think that Bowles is “hands off” regarding the offensive scheme are simply not paying attention.
GP, I agree that for Bowles to be successful, he needs to remain malleable. As you mentioned. He has done that several times this year. But he does often revert back to form. Let’s hope he’s learned his lesson.

stpete, a big thumbs up for our Bucs. 🙂 Now, to all this draft chatter: could we also draft a kick/punt returner, Mr. Bowles and Mr. Licht?

I am vehemently anti-Bowles. Yes they beat Philly but, man, that team just did not want to be on the field.
He’ll be back in 2024 for another “prove-it” season. I’m not confident that anything will change.
