What you see is what you get from Bake. He’s a mid level dude. He makes great plays and in the same half he eludes several defenders only to never once look downfield to throw the ball. A guy that is short and tops it off with a low throw that should have been a TD. Hopefully he steps it up the rest of the way but he’s been up and down per usual.

I know there’s a few weeks to go, but I’m watching some highlights and there is nobody playing consistent in the NFC right now besides San Fran.
The other so-called elite teams, Eagles, Cowboys, and Lions are all vulnerable and the rest of the teams that might be in the playoffs like Seattle or Vikings or Even Atlanta, etc. are definitely all beatable.
That is my daily dose of being really optimistic and looking ahead. LOL
Felt good because I had no idea what to expect with the O and D line or Baker this year so I saw 7 wins as the absolute ceiling.

For the record, I have never been a Baker basher… I always liked him I just saw him in Cleveland with a Super Bowl ready team and never felt he was going to ever be the guy, but he sure is looking a little more mature and making better decisions over this past month. I am starting to really buy in.
Makes it interesting for the salary cap because we know some of the young guys who have to be resigned, like Winfield soon, but I simply cannot see them moving on from Evans or LVD… They are both playing as well as they did six years ago.
It would be a travesty and poor marketing decision, if neither one of them retire a Buccaneer

Actually, Davis, Zion, Dean, Winfield, and even the rookie are all very good at man to man.
The problem is they can’t get a lot of pressure with a 4-man pass rush so they bring 5-6 a lot which makes them drop everyone else into a zone.
For the life of me, I don’t understand why they are so bad at zone. I understand there are soft spots, but it’s really ridiculous how wide open their soft spots are most games.

Those guys are all doing pretty good, but no… Davis is easily the best CB on the team. He’s a better cover corner than everyone in the NFL other than about eight guys. Most of them get more INT’s so people think they’re better.
That said… I would have no problem moving on from either him or Dean because of their contracts and durability issues.
The main issue is they need a four-man pass rush and they don’t really have a consistent one so they blitz a lot and drop everyone into a zone instead of their strength which is man

One thing I’ve noticed two weeks in a row, as pitiful as their yards per carry is, they’re really starting to pick up more and more yardage in the second half by wearing out the defense.

I would love to see Tucker get some carries. He’s the best pure runner they have. White is really good out of the backfield and at blocking but he needs an O line that opens up bigger holes to be effective in the run game because he’s so patient, almost to a fault.

Build around Baker. Keep Evans, Winfield, Wirfs. Find another RB in Free Agency. Draft CBs and Interior Oline early. The rookie D-line is only gonna get better and better. Find a mid-to-late round LB. Pick up a development QB in the late rounds, unless you are very comfortable with Trask AS A BACKUP. in 2 yrs, you will be in the Super Bowl.
