Bucs players said today’s game at Atlanta is a playoff game. Bucs coach Todd Bowles reinforced on the Buccaneers Radio Network pregame show saying it is “playoff football in December.” Even Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht said today is a playoff game.
The Bucs aren’t mathematically eliminated with a loss but man, they would be painted into a corner.

Regardless of what happens throughout the rest of this season, Todd Bowles should be fired for what’s been going on with this defense. I’ve never seen so much confusion and miscommunication from a unit. Any time a QB drops back you can expect the pass to be completed 80 percent of the time. Unless it’s a bad pass you just know it’s going to be a completion with no defender within 10 yards. It’s just unacceptable and ridiculous.

Hard to understand what this team is trying to accomplish. It’s not built to play to these game plans. We have a defense built for downhill attacking and man coverage, yet we seem to favor soft zone and rarely show the exotic blitzes we ran during the Super Bowl campaign. Our offense is built to air it out with two of the top WRs in the league. We actually can’t run successfully, but we force feed the run to keep our mediocre defense fresh and distribute the ball to the likes of Otton, Palmer, etc. instead of game planning to our studs.

Also, I don’t like Bowles at all as HC, but based on the situation trying to keep the Super Bowl “culture”, how Arians left, playing good defense (this is no longer the case obvi), etc. it made sense to hire Bowles. Really didn’t have another choice to be honest. But if we continue to fail this year, then I would imagine Bowles would be gone. If not, then by all means, that is on Licht.

Name 1 GM that has “hit” on more picks than not. That’s normal. John Lynch has done a pretty great job in SF but it sure helps to have a great coaching staff that develops players. Also, I would bet Licht has to be in the top half of GMs as far as success rate of “hits”..

I’m not averse to seeing Trask, I think a decision absolutely has to be made about him – but while we can make the postseason we have to play for it. I’m never gonna back the idea of tanking, because the draft is too much of a lottery.

The best Baker Mayfield can do is score two touchdowns a game, that’s why we have a losing record. That’s not good enough to carry us through the playoffs. We have nothing to lose starting Kyle Trask, at least his passes will not get batted as much as Baker’s because Trask is 6’5.

Can’t really blame the defense in this one. They put 2 on the board directly, gave the offens an 8-yard field, and they have multiple INTs. Add in a 3-yard pass-turned 31-yard-TD. There is that stubborn play calling by Bowles and Canales. Same run up the middle call they do every other play. That run led to Bucs getting stuffed on 3rd and 1. Terrible coaching and play calling.
