Where Was Gerald McCoy?

Bucs fans saw plenty of Gerald McCoy in the Miami slop tonight. There were loads of reps for the No. 3 overall pick.
But what did we really see from McCoy?
McCoy left the game without his first NFL tackle.
Joe’s going to leave the D-line, in-the-trenches analysis to the best in the business, former Bucs defensive end Steve White, who writes the Bull Rush column on JoeBucsFan.com. White promises Joe he’ll be turning out a detailed look at the tonight’s D-line play coming soon.
For now, Joe’s going to say he really likes the motors on Tim Crowder and Michael Bennett, and Kyle Moore was pretty active and batted down a pass, although Moore got pushed around a bit.

I think Miami ran for like 50 yds the entire game, so I don’t think you can be too upset with the d-line as a whole.

Wish you had a like button like on facebook cause Agree 100 where was he I saw him getting double teamed and pushed around alot and leave it up to sabby to make a bone head play guess he was mad he has been missing so many tackles

McCoy was double teamed pretty much the whole night. He allowed our LBs to make plays and drop deep into coverage. What I didn’t see was them running thru McCoy.

Hmmm, dolphins didn’t run up the middle . . Had some pressure up the middle, forced them to move around a little bit . . DE weren’t double teamed, got to apply a Lil heat. Damn sure an improvement already over last year!

Holding them to 50 yards rushing was a very nice night. McCoy isn’t going to be a tackle machine. He’s going to push in the middle, get double teamed and open lanes for linebackers or allow DE’s one-on-one’s to get the edge. GMC, Miller and Price in the middle with a group of DE’s in White (although non-existant tonight), Crowder, Moore and Bennett will be fine. It’s already an improvement over last year. I’m hoping to see more from these guys next week.

Hard to tell with the rain and crappy field conditions. Kinda looked like both sides were playing to avoid injury in the trenches. But everyone should expect McCoy to take some time to adjust to the pro game. I’d be more worried about the Savior Brandon Marshall, if I were in Parcell’s shoes.

I agree with most the analysis here. He was double teamed ALOT, especially for a rookie, and the Dolphins didn’t run the ball that well on the Bucs or him in particular. So, although quiet on the pass rush, he played pretty well. Got to think the mud hindered the footing on the pass rushers for both sides.
Double teaming a rookie that much either says: this dude is real good OR we respect no one else on your line………

The wretched Fins ran for only 50 yards. that woulda been one run last year! The Fins tested to see if we improved, they started the Game running right up the middle. Unlike last year, this year we could stop them! That was all Miller and McCoy!!!

Suh didn’t record a tackle last night either (according to NFL.com)
So i don’t feel ‘too’ bad lol
