MRIs For Lavonte David, Jamel Dean And Carlton Davis

The big-money players in the Bucs’ secondary, Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean, went down with significant injuries yesterday.
Hmmm, the Bucs defense was a lockdown, lights-out force in the fourth quarter without them.
Dean’s big issue is an ankle, head coach Todd Bowles revealed today. Davis has a hip issue. Lavonte David messed up his groin late and left the game, too.
All three are having MRI tests today, Bowles said, and they’re all dealing pain/soreness.
Bowles added that rookie defensive backs Josh Hayes and Kavon Merriweather, and rookie linebacker SirVocea Dennis, played fast as replacements and did good things on the field.

Have been waiting to see SirVocea Dennis hit the field for weeks now, but was hoping it would be to replace Mr. Has-Been AKA Devin White. Not Lavonte..

Lavonte will be missed most. Followed by Dean. I’m done with Davis, he’s look like trash all season.
At least Dean is up and down lol. Davis has been consistently bad.

Yeah it’s weird bc Dean was the fall-guy for weeks other than Ryan Neal, of course. But 1-on-1 he’s looked decent-ish other than on that huge play to Aiyuk. I’ve never seen a CB give a WR that much room between the CB & Sideline on a route like that…..horrible

Either way, we need to be careful who we’re giving these big contracts to because they really do change people.
Devin White needs to go. Would be a huge mistake to give him even more money, unless he’s just not going hard to save his health because he needs a new contract? Regardless, he sucks right now

@Hunter – yeah he’s pretty good in man-to-man usually, but I still see all our CBs lining up too deep and far off from opposing WRs too often, especially when it’s 3rd and less than 7.
I just don’t understand giving guys a free release and not disrupting their timing. Especially against a team like SF, where so much of their offense is all about timing and misdirection.

I was somewhat holding out hope that Carlton Davis could bounce back but after seeing him try to attempt a tackle yesterday I officially have given up on him…..
He literally looked like if Glennon was trying to make a tackle.

Would love to see us go 6-1 down the stretch and finish 10-7 but if LVD, Davis & Dean are out, that’d be a tall order to nearly run the table with what’s left.

If I were the glazers; seriously, I’d have a complete investigation as to who approved deans and Davis unbelievably generous and not deserved contracts? Because clearly there was a bunch of back door shady hoodwinking going on here. It’s so painfully obvious these jackwagons are clowns, masquerading as nfl cornerbacks, and I mean that without trying to insult all the honest hardworking clowns out there in clown land🤡.

The return on investment for our HIGHLY paid starting CB duo is most troublesome. No other way to put that.
That’s w/o already thinking Dean will come up injured after every “tackle” he makes. Love the person and guy, but his play and fragility this year after the big money contract is worrisome. At this point, it actually seems like Dean played better in preseason in his rookie season than he now in his 2nd contract season.
Seems right now, all that money invested in our starting CB duo is best/better spent elsewhere….albeit I’d love to be proved wrong!

As bad as it is, it could be worse. They could’ve sunk a ton of money into a quarterback, like Cleveland, Cincinnati, and the Jets. Don’t pay a bunch of money to a quarterback. Don’t pay a bunch of money to lousy, defensive backs.

Well the positive note is 8-9 takes the division again this year and a likely Cowboys matchup. So 8 is the magic number. That’s NOT a guarantee.

Our CBs are overrated and injury-prone. If you’re constantly dealing with injuries every dang season, you are a liability. I mean would you ever think Ronde would sit out games with a bad toe?

Davis has been disappointing. I always thought Dean was soft. Both of them miss too many games and are in decline. Davis has a $20 million dollar cap number, and Dean has a $15 million. Hainsey, Mauch, Feiler, Goedeke, and R White all make less than 1.7 million each. You think money could be better spent to fix the damn running game?

What a colassal waste of $$$, cap space and breathable oxygen at 1 buc place with Dean and Davis… hey at least they keep our training staff on their toes. And I have no faith (NONE) in Zyon. He will get lit up against Colts. Need David back, especially going up against the INDY run game and Jon Taylor. Should be a shootout Sunday, if our offense shows up. God knows our pass defense will get scorched by Minshew.

Truth be told the 9’ers took there foot off the gas in the forth quarter and ran a vanilla offense. I wouldn’t get too excited.
