Todd Bowles References Replacing Players

Interesting radio comment yesterday afternoon by Todd Bowles after he praised his offense for a 37-point output.
Then Bowles turned to his beloved defense. “Certain guys gotta learn how to play better or we have to replace them,” Bowles told the Buccaneers Radio Network.
Considering Bowles said the 39-37 loss was a complete failure by his defense, it’s hard to pin down to whom Bowles was referring.
Safety Ryan Neal already was benched for Dee Delaney yesterday. Formerly a starter, Neal got just 20 snaps and he appeared to make the best worst of them. Of course, Carlton Davis was roasted and toasted, and fellow cornerback Zyon McCollum often seemed a step behind where he should have been after he replaced Jamel Dean.
Dean wasn’t having a great day before his concussion.
The Bucs pass rush had an inconsistent afternoon, too.
Joe’s all for shaking up the lineup a bit. But Joe does not think there are quick fixes on the bench.

Vaughn does not need to see the field as an RB anymore this season, let the rookie Barber grow, I rather see rookies, i.e., YaYa and Marquese Watts and vet Cam Gill get more time and make JTS play special teams. I think the Stinnie change should have happened way before now and wondering if Nick Leverette should be at the other interior guard over Mauch (is it pass blocking or run blocking, because if it is pass blocking, it’s Baker the escape artist.

Agreed there’s not a fix or replacement for every guy that’s playing bad, but sitting Neal for Double Dee was a no brainer and should’ve happened WEEKS ago. JTS should also be riding pine except to spell YaYa. Even on known passing downs, he gives us next to nothing. We know he’s not in our long term plans, we’re clearly not going anywhere this season, let’s get YaYa seasoned up and see what we have. If White really is injured, let’s let Sir Dennis get a few more snaps here and there (not start). I don’t buy the injury narrative anyhow. If he’s really injured (more than every NFL player is mid season), why would he agree to hide it when he’s looking to cash in with the super bag next season while putting out horrible film this year? And I’m not even saying all these moves just to soft tank or develop young guys. I think some of these changes would bring a better result to the field. But it’s all a pipe dream as long as bowles is in charge. Never seen a guy that coaches like he wants to get fired more. The Glazers need to make his dream come true post haste. #FIREbowles

Bowles needs to learn to be better at call third down plays. He was getting splash plays on the early downs, then gave up the booty on third and longs most of the day. Nothing he says can be trusted. He should finish the season out, then move on. Its Black Monday- he just doesnt know it yet.

The defense was NEVER this bad last season, which is very discouraging because the offense (despite it’s flawed play calling) has improved from it was in 2022.
So there’s 0 excuse for this regression, Bowels/Licht should be ashamed.
Licht needs to be asked directly why he replaced a superbowl saftey Mike Edwards for Ryan Neal.

Only thing on this Team worth paying attention to, Is Mayfield.
If he can have a 97 QB rating with this slop, and this feeble excuse for a head coach.
He could really be interesting with a real Head coach, and a team thats actually playing.
NOTHING else on this team is worth watching. And I wont.

Bowles look in the mirror you should have taken the 10 second runoff after evans fumble recovery. You had the guaranteed tie possible win then Stroud would have only 30 seconds to beat you plus you would have a timeout to remind the DBs to get their heads out of their asses. The Bucs are paying Davis and Dean all that money for this please this teams talent is vastly overrated. Plus how did Dean get a concussion from falling down after that WR burned him. Maybe that was a convenient excuse for the TD.

When Trask had to play with lesser players his last game at Florida, he showed who he is. That OU defense could stop anyone all year until then. Trask is not the type of player that could do well in the current situation. Baker took the Browns to a playoff victory in Pittsburgh! He is an escape artist and is playing his ass off! I think they give him the rest of the year to audition as the QB in place while they rebuild the rest of team. QB isn’t where they need to start the rebuild. I’m not sure any of these QB are going to be great NFL guys. Nothing will kill a rebuild like reaching on an unproven QB instead of getting better on both sides up front and upgrading the secondary. Then get a cheap RB in free agency.

Hey Joe – look at the silver lining – at least the Panthers drafted the wrong QB and we dont have to face Stroud twice a year. Hell, looks like they got the 4th best QB out of all the big names. The UFA Bagent looks better than Bryce Young. Then again, Young will probably beat Stroud’s rookie record when he faces our lame secondary.

Baker is the least of our concerns. But I do realize he will NEVER carry a franchise. He needs to be complimented by a good run game, quality WRs and play caller/OC. Do you realize he has NEVER had those things except for that 1 season in Cleveland? And for those of you that think Trask is the answer you probably vote high confidence in Joe’s weekly Todd Bowles confidence poll.

They have a big gun and they are afraid to shoot it thining he will make a mitake. The Mistake is thers. It is called lack of agression. Baker was made for the attack.

OH MY…BAKER did NOT lose this game people. Coaching did. Bowles has lost the locker room….the defense played like crap the whole game. The Bucs have lost the last 4 that they should have won and were in each of those games. Bad play calling and players just going through the motions like they are coached….I think it’s time for Bowles to walk the plank…

Baker Mayfield played good for the first time this season even when the bucs won he was very average against the bears and the Vikings. Wow, watching it real time I didn’t even notice that Neal was only out there for 20 plays yet still managed a massive screw up and allowed a TD.
Gee, in the future guys, maybe you should question why any team would let a young guy, who is claimed to be talented, walk for free when he’s on a cheap deal.
To me, that was a HUGE red flag. Meanwhile everyone else here was already putting him in the pro-bowl.
To be clear, I had no issue signing him – it was the idea that he was just handed the job. That was insane. Then the people in the comments who were literally saying he would be great … if he was great, why did Seattle tell him to hit the bricks when they literally could have kept him for near min wage.
In any case, just something to keep in mind for the future.

Bench yourself Bowles god that super soft zone coverage you call defense. Yaya and JTS have zero pass rush moves and just run into the tackle and stop. The only outside linebacker with any kind of pass rush moves is Shaq. He’s coming off injured and Still our best rusher

Bowles picked these players for his defense and he picks the players who are on the field the most. It’s his job also to put these players in the best position to win. We play the first half mixing things up on defense and had a lead. We spent the second half playing zone trying not to lose. That’s Bowles in a nutshell, instead of going all out to win, he plays not to lose. That’s what a loser does!

Bowles should be playing Greg Gaines #96. He is an excellent, consistent, and talented player. He essentially played every defensive snap that brought the LA Rams the Super Bowl in 2022.
He is a dependable workhorse that performs. Also remember he and Vea were a tag team at UW for 3 years and know how to work together. He is incredible talent that is being wasted!
Get him out on the field!

I clearly mismanage the clock at the end of the game. Just Google it there are many articles on the internet about my mismanagement.
Will I improve any? Can I motivate the team? Will Will I in the assistant coaches got down on the many penalties that have been killing our drives? Do the fans have any reason to actually show up for any of the remaining home games? Will I let my two highly paid man to man corners play man to man? Will I finally unleash my highly paid first round draft choice Devin White to blitz? Will I finally solidify my offensive line with the five best personnel in the five best positions for them?
These questions answered next week same Bat time same Bat channel on “As The Toad Turns”

And I’m not blaming him for this lost but all the others he was 80 percent of the problem on offense. To all my real bucs fans this is why I don’t like these old washed up quarterback that’s popular in the media! Because when they suck they always have a fan base that’s going to make excuses for them regardless how bad they play.

Playing the LB’s deep kills us every game. Bills shredded us with 1.5 second passes. Texans worked it as well. Every team knows this.

You have to remember, the Bucs are prejudice. They are denying Kyle Trask his rightful and deserved place in glory because he went to an SEC school. You see, everyone at One Buc Palace are FSU homers. Jason Licht playing for Nebraska and Todd Bowles playing for Temple was just a front to hide their true FSU colors and they don’t want an SEC quarterback to succeed. That’s why he hasn’t taken a snap this year.

Joe. I don’t think no one is blaming Faker Mayfield for the loss but he’s not a good quarterback. He’s Ryan Tanahill 2.0 and I’m talking about the past 2 years Ryan Tanahill. Baker Mayfield is trash and 1 good game does not make up for the past 3 losses we have. He was terrible in every lose this year but 1. Bringing Baker Mayfield in was just a waste of time and Kyle Trask was better than him in Training camp and you know it . I know a guy that was able to go to those camps when they were open and he said the same thing and he’s not a Trask guy . That’s why no other team wanted Baker Mayfield but the bucs as a starter.

I said Baker Mayfield was a never been QB before the season began. I told you guys the Season was over when Bowles was named head coach and also when he named Mayfield as starter. A failure leading a failed QB, the Glazers need to demand better from themselves and their Staff.
